This is likely the best Indian food I have had in a restaurant, or that wasn't catered or home cooked. Everything tastes wonderful! The briyani is great, the vegetable curry is delicious, the fried options are crunchy even in the trays, and the mint infused items are vibrant. I'd happily return for their buffet, especially for the price.
The only gripes I have are that the fried options are fairly oily. They taste great, but you can feel the oil taste inside them. The restaurant is also absolutely covered in wall paper listing all the benefits of vegetables and a vegetarian diet. Not a bad thing, probably not even wrong, but it felt like I was eating surrounded by diatery propaganda. Still, as I said before, the buffet was fantastic and I'd happily return. Can't beat it for the price!
Great food and worth every £ you paid!
We have ordered a couple of things, but we have finished too quickly, so there are no photos for the first set we have eaten. Staff is friendly, food very delicious, especially the NAN bread! I have been so many Indian restaurants and I really really love the nan bread here! So soft , warm, fresh! Highly recommended 👌
One of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The food was great, very well seasoned and you get plenty of delicious options. Even better were the decorations on the walls. It’s an amazing welcoming and heartwarming place. We went out there with the biggest smiles!!
They also give free food to homeless people which was so nice!!
Also your allowed to bring your own booze which I think is really cool.
Simple, effective and delicious. £12.95 for a buffet cannot be complained about, especially when the food is so tasty. Service is practical, its byob at no extra cost, and its just such a pleasure to go somewhere as a vegetarian and be able to eat EVERYTHING. Will return again, this is a new fav.
A bit pricey, I definitely think they can reduce their prices which is why I gave it four stars but I can’t deny that the food is delicious. Every selection I got was a party in my mouth. This place is a real champion and honorarium to vegetarian food.
Drinks have to be purchased separately.
Indian Veg Restaurant has buffet only in their menu on very nominal rates. In buffet snacks , Indian dishes, poori are served on self service basis. They don’t serve Tandoori roti , Naan in the buffet. The Retaurant allows to bring your own bottles to drink. The Retaurant promoters not only serves vegetarian dishes but also promote vegetarianism through inspirational quotes, statements displayed in every possible corner of the restaurant.Last but not the least they also provide with free food to every home less , regardless to any caste, creed , colour, size etc. This special quality also inspired me to write a review for them & applaud 👏 on their efforts to eradicate hunger. On enquiry the promoters informed me that 20 to 40 people roughly come for the free packed boxes every day. 👏👏.
A big round of applaus for them. 👏🙏
Absolutely loved this place!! Delicious food - fresh and flavoursome. Lovely owner and great atmosphere! Very unique London experience, will definitely be returning!
Cafe style Buffet restaurant offering a straightforward dining option at a very reasonable price. £15 a head currently and looks like this has only gone up recently which makes sense given COVID and current inflation situation.
Food is all vegetarian which is great, overall I'd describe the food as basic, hearty and delicious. Basic isn't a bad thing when everything is done well. Good selection of salads, bhaji, curries and rice.
Both the gentlemen working there were friendly and welcoming. Great option for a quick lunch or dinner.
Makes complete sense why this place seems to be a long term fixture, 38 years and counting!
I come for lunch usually once a week. Incredible food, kind people. They have a pamphlet saying that they serve free takeaway food and a bottle of water to any homeless person day or night which I think is great. Cheap, delicious all you can eat food. Highly recommend
The hotel is though compact but interior arranged smartly. The hotel offers all you can eat for the price of 12GBP. Also they offers takeaway for 5 and 7GBP.
The staffs are polite and helpful. This hotel when you enter all you can see an information about vegetables and their advantages on the walls. It is full of Tips for good health, facts, quotes and photographs of great leaders.
The dishes are pretty decent and tasty with many options of curries mostly like Dhal, Potato or Paneer. There are about 5 types of salad available which are very tasty and healthy. Potato fries, onion pakora and cabbage pakora are delicious as a side. Pooris are available, 2 types of pilao rice available and plain white rice too.
Good thing is you can take your alcohol beverage from outside and have there with food, they won't charge for that.
All over a decent and nice vegetarian dishes to have in London.
The food was a nice selection of vegetable curries, rice, puris and crispy bhajis. I felt there should be more flavour though, as I feel the dishes could have some extra chilli and spices.
The most delicious food for such a reasonable price. The posters around the place are just brilliant and create an amazing food. The staff are always super accommodating and have great advice. One of the first places I reach to recommend!
Food is pretty standard Indian veg but decent - the BYOB policy is good but would be enhanced if ice could be provided. I'm also not sure what was in the food as lots of us complained about feeling very gassy after the meal which I'm not sure can be explained by the veg.
My favourite Indian restaurant! Been eating here since they opened in the 80s. Buffet is a range of very tasty vegetarian/vegan food - eat as much as you like. Free food generously provided to the homeless too. Unfortunately, I'm only awarding 4 stars due to price rise, now £14.95, making it expensive now and not such great value.
One if my favorite places to eat in town! As well as the food being delicious I never true of my surroundings, reading material for days. I always think of this restaurant when in the area.

When I worked at First Sport many many years ago me and a friend used to come here for lunch. We are meat eaters but the food tasted so good that we could go without and enjoy the spices with the veg.
So on returning to the area with mum I thought I'd see if she would fancy eating there as she's a west indian mum, she is fussy about where she eats and the food.
We chose our seats as it wasnt busy, got two all you can eat plates and had a little of everything on out plates. The food was still just as good if not better than all those years ago. Mum only managed one plate but I tasted the dhal and that was it! I had two more plates full mainly of dhal and rice tasted just the way Indian West Indians make it those from Trinidad and Guyana.
We also sampled a dink from their vast selection I had never seen before, Extra Malty Supermalt! Mum enjoyed it so much she took two bottles home.
The restaurant/cafe is pleasant, clean and simple, it's self-serve (hence the service rating) but the cashier is accommodating and helpful. The toilets are very clean, it's easy to imagine a market eatery to be run down and dirty inside but this place is a pleasant surprise, if there is a mess anywhere its customer created (like mum dropping her fork) rather than sloppy staff and lack of cleanliness.
I highly highly recommend a visit and sure you will be hooked, healthy, spicy, tasty food at a low cost you simply cannot go wrong.
This place right here, Indian Veg is the hidden gem of authentic Indian cuisine. For a meat lover like me who went in with an open heart to not expect much from a vegetarian diet, I was so so wrong. Ideally located only 3mins walk from Angel Train Station with lots of buses and along the White Chapel Market, you gotta eat here 💯
First impression... Warm, clean and friendly. Wide variety of meal options, all vegetarian with lots of healthy facts plastered all over the wall. I was amazed by some of them actually and after speaking with the owner who clearly runs the place with lots of love and passion before profits, feeding 100 homeless people daily which amounts to 700 weekly, I'm in awe. Not only do I have lots of undying respect for the owner, every single dish were mouthwatering and free from any nasties like msg. I swear down, I never ever thought I'd like vegetarian food but I'm definitely half converted after visiting Indian Veg. Put it this way, I won't be buying meat in a hurry after I use up current stack in freezer.
For a foodie like me, I couldn't manage more than 2 plates and there was no corkage fee to Bring Your Own Wine/Beer. Glasses were supplied too freely and the food supplies kept coming. Though you serve yourself but please, take small portions at a time so as to avoid wastage. Oh did I mention too that the All You Can Eat buffet is a tenner? Yep, very cheap and cheerful with quality homemade vegetarian, healthy meals. Every single person that were eating there were all friendly as we all spoke about how amazing the place was and for so little price, it should be put on the very top of The Best Places To Eat In London, England, UK.
Great value veggie Indian buffet. Lovely fresh salads and mixed dishes. Recommend the Aloo Paneer and Dall. Quirky posters promoting healthy style eating. Be kind and stay well
Without a doubt, London’s best Indian buffet. Not only was the food delicious and full of variety, Mr. Safa (pictured) was a wonderful host and took time to speak to us in detail about his story, the early days of the restaurant and more. He even kindly gifted me one of their famous novelty mugs (as a birthday present)!
The interior is a delight, filled to the brim with all sorts of vege/vegan paraphernalia, jokes & anecdotes. It really is one of London’s hidden gems - I just hope more people discover it! 🥦🥬🌽🥕🫒🫑🧅🧄🥑🍆🍅
