Best pie and mash I've had in years. Ordered via Just Eat and it arrived quickly and was delicious. Veggie pie was tasty. I get the feeling this will be my new regular eatery.

Great food and East End ambience, but come on only three scoops of mash for a double! how's that work out? A double is either 2 or 4 NOT 3.

When we first visited they had run out of both pies and mash so we waited with a cup of tea but left after 20m following no update. Our second attempt was more successful: nice pie, great builders tea and the "Hotter than Marilyn Monroe" chilli vinegar certainly packed a punch.

Great service. They didn't take card and I'd forgotten my pin. The lady was great. I asked for a pie as that is all the cash I had and she gave me mash for nothing. Friendly service, great food, interesting decor. Good grub, I and the family enjoyed it, it was a take away on the way home from work one night and I just happened to be passing. I was waiting a while but the staff are very friendly and made me a cuppa while I was waiting, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. I'd definitely go again. Recommended

For two Scottish 60-somethings looking for another tick on the bucket list this was our first ever experience of a cockney pie and mash restaurant - and we weren’t disappointed. Wary of sampling the jellied eels (for no other reason than it just didn’t appeal) we opted for the pensioners special of pie and mash with liquor, followed by rhubarb pie and ice cream and a mug of coffee - all for the princely sum of £4.90 each. This place is a real gem..the two ladies behind the counter were friendly and courteous in the time honoured east end tradition, the food was served quickly and tasted great although my partner did lay down her cutlery upon learning that the liquor was made from the juice of steamed eels! I don’t think either of us will ever get over the psychological barrier of eating eels, whether jellied, steamed or in pastry but respect to the good folks of east London for keeping up the tradition. We’re glad we went.

Very happy about the new management, I had a cappuccino and a salty beef bagel (delicious) while I was chatting with the friendly chef. It's a family run business which is turning the place more into a restaurant while retaining links to its past. Recommended, I'll take the whole family next time.

Had such a good day made better after deciding to have a English breakfast. Walked in the ambiance was breathtaking, the service was so good I had to give the waitress (oh I forgot her name 🤔) a hug. I live only two doors away so it will make it easier for me to pop in often as I possible can for even a coffee. Beautiful service .

Lovely place to get a tradtraditional bit of cockney tucker. Service with a smile good sized portions and fairly priced. The 8nterior is decked out with great images of the local area ie West ham united past and present. All in I would recommend anyone who fancies pie and mash pop in you'll be made to feel welcome I would recommend to all

great takeaway alternative - nice smooth mash & tasty minced pie. Liquor is quite gentle, but thats what pepper & vinegar is for - to customize it to your own preference. Overall a lovely bit of classic east london grub!

This place is under new management now and boy am i so glad. I attended there and everything was just super. Bright and airy decor with the old school tied in with the new contemporary look. Food was fantastic, all day breakfast was spot on AND FULL HALAL.
