A great J.D.Wetherspoon's, cheap beer, cheap food, lovely, friendly staff.
Back in after lockdown. Pub did well to establish social distancing guidelines, however no way to tell which people have been in already. Good food "fish Friday" came to £8.35 good all round nothing to complain home about.
£2.80 for a full English Breakfast. And precisely (or should that be pricey) the reason I popped into the Spouter’s Corner for my morning fix. It’s part of the Wetherspoon chain of pubs (why is that a thing here) meaning the food is a bit generic, but is is cheap. And you know what? The £1 mochacchino I had here was decent. Sugar and chocolate always helps when in doubt. Note: I did hold on the baked beans as not a fan of that. I really liked the super crunchy hash browns and the sausage was nice. Everything else was fair, but not remarkable. The menu is extensive and like all other Wetherspoons there’s specials across the week so it’s a fair option for a place to finish off an evening with.
I came to this pub last night I have been a few times and have always been happy with the service & food. Last night I had for starters the hot buffelo wings, my friend ordered grilled halloumi & i have always been a fan of the wings as there just devine, then followed by a surf'n'turf with prawns an medium done rump steak and it was perfect couldn't fault the steak at all. Will keep coming back. Defo a place for a lunch or dinner.
There is no such pub as SpRouter's Corner it is called Spouter's Corner!
My after-work steak on the Tuesday nights I feel too lazy to cook, at this pub right opposite to Wood Green tube station.
Tuesday is steak club day and the steak comes with sides and a soft drink for something around 7£. The steak itself is good most of the times, the sides (peas and french fries) not so much.
I also like the cappuccino and the espresso there, though the breakfast is a bit disappointing (muffin and bread and jam).
Another reason to visit the pub at times is if you fancy an english breakfast at 7pm, since there it's All Day. The english breakfast is a big portion and it's fair enough, of course you can find much better.
Food review
Dish - Fish & Chips
Fish - 7/10
Chips - 7/10
Peas - 6/10
Overall ok, the chips were a bit dry, fish was nice on the inside but batter overcooked.
Peas were Luke warm.
Also had chicken bites on the side which were nice, the sauce was very tasty!
Good place to have drinks and spend time with company. Drinks are reasonably priced and bar/restaurant environment is relaxing. Restroom was well kept and fairly clean.
Busy Friday night.
The food was quickly coming to the tables, all tasted great, and was up to Wetherspoons standards.
Staff were very well ignoring the drunken unreasonable pushy remarks to speed up the service when clearly all members worked hard and as fast as they could and did their absolute best to achieve that. They all provided good customer service. Well done for not letting them get under your skin.
To my surprise, the lavatories, despite the busy Friday night, looked clean and were in good working order.
I might be wishing too much in this crisis, but would be nice if wetherspoon invested some money to make this as nice looking pub as they do with other branches, since the venue has a massive potential but looks very old, sad and neglected.
Not a pub where I'd choose to take friends visiting London nor recommend to anyone. I believe it's only busy thanks to the convenient location and capacity of the venue.
Great prices and good food if you make the right choice - it's a Wetherspoons! I recommend the char-grilled half chicken with mash, peas and gravy. With a pint of Abbot ale. Fabulous & filling! I have always had quick and courteous service
Cheap drinks, amazing ambience. Although it's pretty busy most of the time, the pub is big, so there's room for everyone. The staff are really amicable. Would recommend for hangouts.
My local spoons. Good food and always busy. Ordered a beer on the app and took 15 mins to come and I could see the bar wasn’t that busy :( maybe short staffed but beer was undersized when served. Anyway beer was great so all is forgiven
We popped in for a pint after a visit to the cinema. Service great and beer good but very crowded. Too many high tables & stools. Maybe I could give 5 stars at a quieter time.
Cheap and cheerful breakfast. At £7.04 you can't go wrong. The table service app was very easy to use and I felt a lot safer doing this, although I had to collect my drinks from the bar. There must be a better way to avoid doing this as we are still at the height of a pandemic.
Super experience.
was here with a friend on a what we later realized "bad" day (was football day so very busy) and the bartenders still managed to fulfill orders quickly.
Prices were very good and the menu filled my hearts content.
All in all a good Pub to go to will definitely do so if I'm in London again.
This is a great weather spoons in a prime location. There have a well sized bar for the size of the venue.
The fish and chips here was the best I have had in years. It was fresh and crispy.
Looking forward to my next visit
