Good service, Delicious Cakes. Been going there for a while, and the staff is always courteous and polite. The cakes are delicious as well as the bread.
The Highgate Pantry has a big display of tempting sweet things in its window! Cupcakes, fruit tarts, macaroons, fruit crumble slices, egg custards and the list goes on! An afternoon filled with tea, cake and the girls brought us to this bakery! We were spoilt for choice so we decided that the only way around that was to pick a few cakes and to share them! Two fruit tarts, one lemon and one cherry, and a plum crumble slice were our final choices! The cherry tart had plump cherries bursting with flavour. The lemon tart was tangy but also sweet! Both had good pastry! Big slices of plums mixed with a cake like filling made up the crumble slice. It would have been nice to have had a little more crumble topping. The tea was served by the cup. The English Breakfast tea was a good accompaniment to the cakes! The staff were friendly and did not rush us. The Highgate Pantry also serves hot dishes such as jacket potatoes and it also does various bakes, pastries and sandwiches. The interior of The
Great little place to stop off for a treat, lovely coffee and the strawberry tart was delicious. Also had some quiche to take away and was also lovely.
Lovely place! Glad I didn’t look at the reviews beforehand or I would have missed out on the most charming lunch place in Highgate. We wandered around looking for a place to eat and this was by far the busiest and most convivial. We had lasagna and pie and finished with a cupcake. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The cafe was cozy and clean, and the service was friendly — the family that run the place are wonderful. Gail’s are everywhere but this is one of a kind. We’ll be back.
Lovely atmosphere. Friendly service and homemade food. I had the chicken and ham pie which was beautiful. And a great coffee. Highly recommend this as a stop off for a great lunch on the way to a tour of Highgate Cemetery.
Good selection of cakes and pastries. Can be a hit or miss. Soup was delicious. The service was good, a bit slow but attentive.
I have been here a few times now and the service and atmosphere is always great. Good coffee and the brioche was very tasty, too. My friend likes it, too. All the food is traditional British homemade. Its a jewel, I will keep on supporting it!
Great little place. Lots of nice cakes on offer and cute little downstairs area out of cold.
Wonderfully friendly little village bakery with a small collection of tables. Lovely attentive staff and a ridiculous variety of cakes, tarts and savoury dishes. Good coffee as well.

A cosy place to have a hot drink and a pastry. Homemade cakes and cupcakes and really kind staff.
The long walk up Highgate Hill is rewarded by the fine array of cakes on offer in the window of The Highgate Pantry. There are a few small tables just inside the shop, supplemented by several more in the basement. Good selection of savoury lunch options on view in the chilled counter which appear to get reheated to order - all had a homemade look. Service is friendly - prices average for area with 3 cakes, 2 teas and a soft drink coming to around £17.00
I've been a customer at the Highgate Pantry for years. The quality is high, the range of fresh food is excellent, and the staff are always lovely. They are one of the few remaining nuggets of Highgate's characterful past, long may they stay!
Lovely welcome, nice and warm, with tasty treats
Wow what a great selection of cakes, huge doughnuts, tarts and quiches. I didn't quite felt the taste of my quiche and the canollo but pretty sure everything else is better (seems pretty popular!)
