The area around Bermondsey street is littered with some exceptional restaurants. From the famous Jose, Pizarro and Zucca to the lesser known but equally good 40 Maltby St , Magdalen and Elliot’s . For those looking to enjoy a gastropub experience, most would think The Garrisson in the obvious choice. However,  the  Leather Exchange  is around the corner and offer some proper gastropub grub as well and is certainly worth a try. The other day, while strolling past, I read on the sign outside that they had a pulled pork burger on the menu. Given that I’m having some serious burger cravings of late and have had good experiences at the  the  Leather Exchange  before, it was an easy decision….we had to visit soon The Leather Exchange: Crispy sweetbreads (7/10)   The Leather

We were tourists looking for a drink while wandering back from a street market. Popped in here and had a great experience. Reading reviews, the landlord/owner/manager was incredibly kind and accommodating to us and helped us have a wonderful last evening! London is a frequent stop for us and we will pop in here again!

Celebrated my 30th in the gorgeous private room upstairs for a party of ~30 people. Ian was so helpful, we felt looked after from start to finish. Lovely venue and staff! Highly recommend.

Definitely one of the best pubs to watch sport / have a good time! We went with friends to watch football and that place was lovely. A very good atmosphere and the staff were friendly and profesional. The bartender was incredible! Always available to help and happy to do it!

What an absolute find! We stumbled across this pub on our way back from Maltby st market, and popped in for a cheeky pint. Upon seeing the Welsh flags and “Iechyd Da” on the specials board, we knew we’d stumbled in to a little haven of Welshness! The food is outstanding, some of the nicest Tapas we’ve eaten, and the chilli chips were monstrously good! Thanks Ian and team for such a warm welcome! We will definitely be back 👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Called in here on Tuesday, my husband and I were in London and wanted to revisit a pub we managed about 30 years ago. Fell in love with it all over again, and were made very welcome by the current landlord Ian. Great to see The Leather Exchange looking so good, and obviously in capable hands.

Very nice, small pub. Serves food at decent prices, freshly cooked and quickly served. We were there in a Sunday afternoon and it was quite empty, so plenty of space for us to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Been here a few times as I don't live far. Cosy pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect place for a quiet conversation when it's not too busy.

A nice local pub - Fuller's London Pride is served on the tap. Sometimes it's crowded, but more often it's quiet and you can chill out with the music. Some reviews mentioned issues with service quality; my visit was perfectly fine - staff were friendly.

My friend and I happened to come across this pub when in the area and we're so pleased we did! We lucked out by nabbing the last table and it was clearly popular but not too rammed as they seat you as you arrive (or did tonight). The staff were the perfect level of friendly and attentive but also left you to it (in a good way!). It somehow felt more like a cosy local pub but the window seats gave a gorgeous view of the Shard (it's fun to take in the tourist sights even if you live here!). We really enjoyed the music and the food we ordered too. Thanks guys! :)

This is a great pub. It's chilled, with amazing music and table service for everything. It's not your standard setup, it's bums on seats only, but this makes all the difference if jostling for position and queueing aren't your vibe. The team are all genuinely, and consistently, lovely and the food is exceptional (don't miss out on the Patatas Bravas).

Discovered the Leather exchange by chance when I first moved to London & it remains my favourite pub in the centre. The service is incredible and the lead bar tender couldn’t be more accommodating. The food is proper pub grub in the best way and the atmosphere is always pleasant. A proper hidden gem in the heart of London Bridge. Well worth a visit 💯
