Visited Porters last week for the first time, can definitely say I will be back! My lunch was spot on and the prices was extremely reasonable! I couldn't help noticing how clean and well presented the shop was. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!!
I ate a cheeseburger, fries and coke for £ 19. The burger was very good and the fries one of the best in south London.
Great pub for a Sunday roast. Full of locals watching the soccer and having a great time. Beer was plentiful on such a hot day and the pork belly Sunday roast was out of this world.
Worth the long walk for the tube station.
I did find it a bit of a intimating area to walk around by myself as a young female. There was lots of people yelling in there apartments and didn't seem overly clean.
🚇 Kennington
🍺 £6.00 Heineken
❤️ A welcoming Kennington boozer that appeared on the big screen.
.
The Black Prince is located in a residential side street just off busy Kennington Road. The nearest tube is Kennington which is around a five walk away.
.
This pub may be familiar to you as it features in the film The Kingsman. The pub was used in a couple of scenes, one scene was prior to Harry (Colin Firth’s) bar fight beating up the local wideboys and one were Eggsy (Taron Egerton) did donuts in a Subaru (link to scene in bio)
.
This is a traditional pub which has a central bar taking centre stage. The bar is clad in dark wood and has a wonderful “Double Diamond” sign at the top. Around the walls are knights shields with different types of heraldry symbols. This pub is big on showing live sporting events, I managed to catch the second half of the Fulham v Liverpool game whilst visiting. At the back of the pub is a cosy sun-trap beer garden which also has a TV showing sport.
.
The beer choice was full of popular keg options and also two cask. I chose a pint of Heineken which was nice enough and average London lager price. The food menu is full of traditional British favourites and a variety of comfort options, fish and chips cost £15. On Sundays, hearty roast dinners are available but be sure and book in advance.
.
I visited mid afternoon on a Saturday and the pub had a fair few in and the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed. The clientele was a mix of locals and some pub crawlers. I was served by a nice member of staff who served with a smile.
.
The @theblackprincepub is a very welcoming pub and definitely one for the traditionalist’s and lovers of live sport. I really enjoyed visiting this quality SE11 pub, get it on your list.

I went to the black prince today for a family Sunday lunch. During Covid you worry about whether it's safe to go to the pubs etc. However it was clear to see that they have taken control of the situation perfectly. The tables were continuously cleaned, there were facemasks at the door in case you'd forgotten it, the toilets checked regularly and I even saw the staff check their temperature, the care taken shows that they care about the staff and their customers. The waitress knew exactly who was arriving and had a list of reserved tables the communication between her and the kitchen was brilliant. When moving around the pub you had to wear your mask but when seated with your family and eating it was fine to remove it. On arrival I was greeted by all staff members in the pub, in particular Jazeena was extremely friendly and helpful, she is certainly an asset to the pub. As mentioned above we had the Sunday lunch, between us we had the pork belly, lamb and chicken and these were all absolutely beautifully prepared, the food was delivered to the table hot and the service was efficient and effective. We were asked if we needed anything further and if we were enjoying the meal and even got a doggy bag to take home. We all left completely content. The atmosphere was pleasent and family friendly, there was a TV for the sports fans and some music playing at a reasonable level too. An ideal place to take the family. 5 stars from us. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you very much for a pleasent afternoon.
Cracking pub, good beer, good food, dynamite beer garden. It's expensive but it's a pub in London. Great for watching sport and named after one of my favourite historical figures, so extra points for that.
Amazing pub that offers American football. The owner and bar keeper were accommodating in every way. We visited on our last night before returning to the States and this friendly, quaint location couldn't have been better. We met the nicest people and enjoyed sitting by the fire. We were informed by the locals that the Kingsman had been filmed there. Fabulous experience!
Had Sunday lunch, really enjoyed it, I was recommended the pork which was outstanding, service was also friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Found us a table after being let down elsewhere and can honestly say this was one of best Sunday lunches I’ve had in a long while. Highly recommended. Good beers too!
Had Sunday Lunch at the Black Prince yesterday. Delicious roast beef, with all the trimmings. Very friendly service, reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
A striking Tudoresque pub, just off the main road. Great choice of beer, even Bath ales invading London with a pint or two of Gem. Showing the football and food on offer. A great little pub for a visit.
Great little pub; friendly staff, great beers.. a proper home from home. I wish this was my local..
Overall a good pub. I personally came just for the Kingsman connection as a filming location. I was sincerely disappointed to find that the interior of the pub was not at all like that depicted in the film (maybe they built a set with a different design or they remodeled?), but the experience was very pleasant overall. Good staff and good food.
Cozy atmosphere, great Sunday Roasts, amazing staff!
This pub does such an amazing Sundays Roasts!! It is also nice as there's a garden inside.
One of my favourite pubs. Nice friendly staff, great gin selection and a fantastic pint of Guinness. This place is worth the 15m walk at lunch from my office just to get the Chicken Basket with curry sauce and chips. Fresh chicken and the chips/curry sauce are better than a Chinese takeaway. In the middle of a Vauxhall housing estate with a large garden area and several TVs for the sport. Usually has a pub dog running round with lots of locals. Also if you like the film Kingsman, it was filmed here!
Great pub. Here every Thursday and the food is great and the staff cheeky and welcoming.
Wonderful Sunday roast here - would recommend the pork belly
Great pub, really warm and friendly staff. Lots of screens downstairs to watch the football downstairs (no sound) but there is a room upstairs with sound as well. Best pork belly in London, hands down! 👌👌😍😍
Spotted the The Black Prince on Google whilst in another pub & thought ain't that The Kingsman pub? Low and behold; on the outside it is. On the inside it might take some imagination.
It was nice, clean & for a Monday pretty busy compared to some in area I previously visited...I think the football helped.
Half price burgers circa £6 tonight. I didn't partake but there was a just eaten plate of ribs on the table and it was commented that they looked good.
I had a Pale Ale (don't recall the name) but it decent. Would go again for sure.
