It's been a long time since I posted a review but then I found Maida.... and I thank god for that....cause I don't crave for Indian food anymore... I have tried maximum items on their menu and out of all chicken biryani, Dal makhani, tandoori chicken is my favourite...Their food is tasty and I am really impressed by the quality and quantity.I did not liked Matar paneer and peas pilau.. may be because frozen peas were used directly...rest of the stuff that I tried was really good.I also tried Chinese and it was good too...Looking forward to try more of your food...

I do love Maida so many great dishes, desserts and mocktails. However they always disappoint because they are always out of something that I would want. Also their portions are not generous and slightly on pricey side, their service isn't the most attentive. However I do always visit if I'm in the area. It's just become a regular haunt :)

Update: we went to the mothers day buffet food was awesome but it was manic ..Pls don't cram so many people into such a small place! Just killed any enjoyment ...

Was expecting a lot more.
Atmosphere : clean, plain but v cold - huge draft every time the door opens.
Food :Indian much better than Chinese menu Chow mein and bihari kebab are the only two dishes I would recommend.
Dessert was divine. Oreo cake and gajjar halwa made the visit worthwhile
Would I revisit? Only if I were in the area.. Not worth the one hour drive there.

If you love the indo-chinese food, then Maida is the place for you ... try their veg manchurian or noodles, they are really good .. even daal makhani and paneer tikka masala are amazing.. i would also recommend trying their mango lassi which they serve in retro bottles which i havent seen anywhere else .. what I also like is their paneer wrap and rumali roti (one of the few places to get rumali roti in London) ...

they used to do aloo paranthas few years back but (sigh) seemed to have stopped serving them now .. what a shame..

If you're a South East Asian living in East London and craving for the "authentic desi" flavour in home delivered Indian food, Maida comes across as quite a bit of a saviour. Although I have never ordered anything apart from the vegetarian Manchurian and the vegetarian fried rice, I can vouch for the Indo-Chinese food they serve as the best you can have in London. Especially, the Manchurians. I loved their food, quantity as well as quality, their prompt service and the closeness to desi food in terms of spices. Although, yes, they can make their Manchurians crispier and less of a dough. And despite being a bit high on the price, a frugal somebody can allow themselves this treat once a while.

Mai'da is really an extraordinary set of contrasts. The menus look and feel like they support a major chain, and Mai'da even have their own iPhone app, lending to the chainy air. The food looks only okay -visually indistinguishable from most of Brick Lane. The atmosphere is laid back, relaxed, not remotely hurried nor particularly "Indian". But the food! The food is, quite simply, stupendous. It is vastly better than any Brick Laner (incl Preems) and even gives Tayaabs a run for the money. The lamb chops are amazing, the daal smokily splendid, even the prawn curry - something I've simply given up on as a sad waste of a meal - is a shocker, with massive prawns cooked just right in a great sauce that holds it's own. Mai'da was only 3/4 full the Monday night we were there, and they didn't rush us at all. While it won't keep me from returning to Tayaabs, it's good enough to be a viable alternative on any given night.

This restaurant has always managed to satisfy my pallet. For a restaurant that is dry, it manages to overcome this by a choice of never ending drinks including milkshakes and mocktails (non alcholic drinks). To add, the food has always been pleasant, being of Indian origin it is hard to find good authentic tasting food as provided by this restaurant. It must be visited.

This is mine and the missus favourite restaurant to eat in. They Indo-Chinese fusion is one from Calcutta created by the large Chinese contingent there and it tastes lovely.

This place is a bit pricey but have been here dozens of times and the food has always been spot on. The service though needs to be improved as the waiters don't seem too interested at times but cannot fault the food.

Their mocktails are delicious and would recommend their rice dishes and starters. Their food has all the yumminess of Chinese food with the spices and fragrances of the Indian food. They make the combination work perfectly

It's the best indian restaurant in London. I have there many times with 5 of my friends to have whole lamb biryani (which has to be pre ordered) and they have never disappointed us.

The lamb is soft n yummy! Their biryani is also very good n not to forget lamb chops. To finish it all u should have a glass of mango lassi. It's the best place to have halal food where alcohol isn't being served.

We found this place as we had wondered off Brick Lane and we too tired to turn around. However, I would not recommend this place for dine in due to its location and because they do not serve alcoholic drinks at the restaurant which is an irritant as I prefer to water down the spicy food with beer. The restaurant was almost empty throughout and the staff was almost completely engaged in catering to take-away orders. We liked the food but decided to get take aways instead of taking the trouble to go there and it is now one of my favourite choices for take-aways. It serves some amazing Indian and "Indianised Chinese" which somehow I have started to like more than "Pure Chinese".

I love the hakka noodles and Singapore noodles which goes well with chicken manchurian or chilli chicken. You may find the food a bit oily and sometimes very hot, but you can always ask the restaurant to prepare your food less spicy or less oily. The Indian section is good but I am sure you can get thousand other better places. However, make sure you order your food in time as they take almost 1 hour to get your food delivered to your door.

Visited after hearing recommendations and was was pleased to with the visit. We ordered the mix grill starter, Hyderabad Biriyani, tadka dall and chilli fries. The starter and fries did us plenty. Good portions and excellent quality. The waiting staff were very good. Decor wasn't bad but a little tired. In general this was a pleasant visit. Parking outside is free after 7pm, bit tricky and may need you to drive around a bit in the evening, in the day it may be easier as it's pay and display.

I am literally eating the food now and, honestly, it's okay, not a 5 star but definitely worth a 4 star. I asked for my food to be extra spicy and to have more onions and they did not disappoint. My food was ordered via Uber eats and it was packaged really well.

What can I say. Service was second to none. Promptly given a table, and ordered within no time. Drinks came 6mins later. And starrers 2mins after that! Mains came soon after too. Perfect. Staff real friendly and always asking if everythings okay etc. Food is delicious. Two of us really well for £30. With leftovers. Money well spent, will come again soon!

Excellent restaurant! Highly recommended! Staff are great and service is exceptional. I would especially recommend getting the lollipop chicken. Easily by far the best food I have ever tasted! As a British Asian, I try to avoid going to Indian restaurant because is the food we have home. So when we planned to have our annual dinner there, I wasn’t so keen. I’m glad I went because the food is so delicious and everyone seem to have so much fun. The restaurant manage to accommodate 55 of us comfortably while keeping the restaurant still open for other members of public

Went with some colleagues on the 13th March and found the place to be very accommodating, and enjoyed the private dining room experience... however, service was challenged due to not being able to wave the waiter down as easily (due to the private nature of the room we were seated in). Food was nice, could do with a more lively atmosphere...

We had a family gathering last weekend, a group of 20. The staff were very friendly and helpful, food was on time and as usual ( I often go there with friends after our sports session) very delicious! We booked the private room downstairs, kids had a great time running around. Staff were very kind to the kids, they all got goodies before we left! overall it was just a perfect day, great food.

My dish was excellent. My father was not happy with his but they replaced it free of charge with a different choice. The replacement was fantastic. I will definitely return as its one of the few genuinely good curry places near brick lane (in my opinion many nearby live more by reputation rather than quality.) I would recommend this to everyone. They also do taste card (not when I went on a Saturday though.) I just hope it is as good the next time.
