This place absolutely rocks. Needs to be across the capital. They have totally nailed it. Conscious catering. Awesome staff. Mindful music. Grounding space. All authentic. Everything about it hums to the right vibration. We feel like we’re in LA or Wellington. But we’re in Hackney Wick. Go London!

Had their 'not tuna' sandwich and honestly I think it's the best vegan sandwich I've yet to try! Definitely work getting if you fancy something a bit different.

Beautifully situated on the canal I was so thrilled to stumble upon this dog-friendly plant based haven. The jack fruit chilli nachos blew my mind can't wait to go back for a second helping.

Amazing food, really friendly owners and just a great place to hang out and work next to the canal, surrounded by greenery.

I would call it the "Mother Experience", as is not "just a bar/restaurant". No, is nothing like I'd seen before. I came all the way from Oxford, took the overground to Hackney Wick and walked with my friend across the streets, contemplating the graffiti on the walls, and along the canal... Atmosphere is the best: music, the colour on the walls, the smells, the sofas, the magic egg-chairs! And the food! I tried the African Quinoa Curry, DELICIOUS. The Peanut Butter cup was a full meal itself! And lovely trip back home in company of a warm Matcha Almond Latte. Ethical, Vegan, Local. What else could you ask for? :)

Came here on a Sunday morning in early September, the place was busy but not fully booked. The atmosphere is nice, music not too loud and even inside it’s bright with the front doors / window fully open. My waitress (short blond hair) was really friendly and attentive. It’s nice that they have not just the standard but a good selection of teas (as someone who doesn‘t drink coffee this is really important to me). It would be great to get a small plate to be able to take out the tea strainer though (as otherwise the tealeaves over brew and don‘t taste that nice anymore). I had the pancakes which were wonderfully presented. While the garnish was nice, the pancakes itself were too dry and also didn’t taste right for me which was a bit disappointing. I assume it‘s because of the corn flour? It’s nice that they are trying to cater for people who are gluten intolerant, though, so I give them credit for that. I‘ll surely come back but might go for a different dish (their menu is quite varied after all).

Relaxed atmosphere, good outdoors space and everything you'd like from a brunch menu. As a bonus, it delivers what some vegan places can struggle with... flavour! The green saksuka in particular is so well made, it's worth visiting again and again

Went there on BH Monday 29/08.(First time visiting). The Spanish girl who served us was lovely (dark, shoulder length hair with glasses!Sorry we didn't catch your name!). She gave us, and ALL the tables next to ours, great service. Big smiles and bubbly personality!! Despite the place being super busy and being the ONLY ONE serving the tables outside!! The food was great!! We had Bombay toastie and Green Shakshuka and both were very lovely!!! (I could have done with a little more harissa on the Green Shakshuka, but that's just a personal preference). 4* as UNFORTUNATELY the iced coffee was very weak and my iced chai tasted of nothing :( Despite that, I will be coming back and maybe just stick to a hot drink as it is almost the season for it, anyway! Oh I just wanted to add that the table next to ours complained saying that the waiter had taken the wrong order (which she didn't and I know that for sure as I heard the customer asking for a Mother bowl and not a Loaded acai bowl. But hey, some customer always know best!) and dealt with the situation with great manners and professionalism...also apologising and saying that she hoped they will go back and hoped that her mistake didn't ruin their experience(which I found very sweet as we all know she is not the one who made the mistake :'D). 5* to you Chica!!

I love this place - and always aim to come if I’m in Hackney Wick. Today I got the Bombay toastie, which was full of flavour and super satisfying! Our group also ordered an açai bowl, two vegan sausage rolls, and a tahini brownie. All were really fresh and homemade. Highly recommend!

Super lovely place. Great selection of vegan food. Had a super tasty coconut late. Staff are super nice. Come here a lot to work remotely or just relax.

The bean burger was really good - one of the closest things I've had to a beef patty burger (if you're the type to compare). Not the most efficient in terms of serving times and they also team out of sweet potatoes the time I was there (big sadness). GREAT location on the river near the Olympic Park.

stopped by here unplanned and we were warmly welcomed into a cosy cafe with lots of plants. the kimchi toastie was amazing (the salad could do with some sprucing but it was still nice to have some green with the meal regardless) and they have a large selection of healthy drinks. best part is obviously that everything is vegan and as a meat eater I was completely satisfied.

Really like coming to Mother Works. Everything I’ve tried is super tasty (particularly brownies and Kimcheeze toastie) and it’s great knowing everything is vegan. Can’t wait to come when the BBQ opens very soon 😃

My 3rd visit and 2nd burger- delicious once again! My friend had the Baba bowl- tasty but a somewhat excessive amount of hummus! Perhaps more grain/topping instead? Friendly staff. Will definitely return again.

Maybe not the most cosy space if you sit outside and booking in advance might be needed depending on how busy they are. They strive to go paperless so you will be asked to download their PDF menu to your phone to have a look at it. There are however printed menus on the indoor tables so you might be able to get one of those in case you don't have a smartphone or don't want to download a PDF. Expected to pay 12.5% service charge. I had their Savoy Cabbage Cassoulet and it was absolutely delicious.

Got the sweet waffles for brunch on a lovely day and sat at the outside tables by the canal. Super tasty waffles, friendly staff, and respectable business model (zero waste, plant based, locally sourced). Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that many of the options are more beautiful and tasty than filling such as the frozen açai bowl, and avocado toast.

Definitely one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been to in London. Mother Works had a really good vibe, relaxing atmosphere and a great staff! The food was very fresh, well presented and delicious! If you’re vegan or looking for a healthy plant based meal, this place is for you! They have food, smoothies, drinks, juice and a small “pantry” where you can purchase different eco friendly things, so there’s something for everyone. It’s located on a nice path in the park next to the canal, there’s both indoor and outdoor seating. If you’re in London, definitely give Mother Works a try!

Absolutely excellent food. Never mind that it's vegan, it's just really tasty food - the jackfruit curry was really well spiced (quite spicy, which was lovely) and the coffee was nice. If you're getting the curry you may want to go for the big portion if you're hungry - the small portion is more of a snack. Sandwiches are great too - MOTHER use a tasty sourdough, and their "BLT" with coconut instead of bacon has a really nice dressing. All in all a lovely place to come sit by the river and have a good time!

They serve some really nice smoothies even now and some good food too (take away). The peanut butter smoothie is a no brainer obviously. By the way it's NOT a vegan restaurant or else I wouldn't be caught dead in it

Stopped off at Mother on the first day of my holidays, and found myself a Peanut Butter Booster smoothie and GF Cheese Toastie to enjoy in the sun. The toastie was delicious, but the smoothie actually blew my mind! Would heartily suggest to everyone

Oh my word, delicious vegan food. I will happily travel an hour just to eat at this gem of a cafe. Fresh blueberries in my açaí bowl, instead of the usual frozen blueberries at most places is an example of how dedicated they are to great food here. Tempted to eat everything on the menu.

Amazing! Good food, lovely people and nice interior. Had the burger, which could have had a bit more spices in my opinion. And the drinks are pretty expensive, but worth it. Liked it.
