A cut above the standard Chinese takeaway/restaurants that you see, it's a pleasant surprise to get the Friday takeaway from here or even to meander down Rotherhithe St for a quick meal.

The interior is pretty basic but you don't come here for the decor - the food is better than expected. The soft shell crab is particularly good, lightly battered and cooked hot in front of you with a zingy supplement of chillis, onions and spring onions. The duck for the pancakes is crispy and well flavoured while retaining an excellent texture and meaty bite to it.

All in all, I'm very pleasantly surprised by the fare at Yun Hai!

We decided to take away from this Chinese restaurant in the Docklands area. We were greeted with a decent ambiance which was welcoming. STAFF : Attentive, the counter lady even recommended us what to order. FOOD : The lamb with black bean sauce was delicious, the lamb was tender and juicy. The duck with special sauce was the highlight. The meat was flavourful accompanied with such a lovely sauce. Egg fried rice was okay. PRICE : Decently reasonable.

Lovely little restaurant. Only a small amount of tables...But during the week, it tends to be quite empty which is great! Is very close to The Double Tree by Hilton in Rotherhithe. So if your staying there, you should check it out! Food is delicious.

This place never disappoints. Really friendly staff, really quick service. Mongolian lamb, Hong Kong Pork, Salted Squid, egg fried rice (with pancakes and prawn crackers thrown in for free) is my go to for around £26. Great value as the Mongolian lamb is so much quantity

Great little hole in the wall tucked away in Rotherhite; offering a lovely service with nice people it’s worth a sit down, although take out is far more popular. If you’re in the area or passing nearby it’s worth a detour. Food is nice and somewhat more authentic yet they still stock most of your favourites. Noodles are thin and perfect compared to the wet sloppy mess you get in other places. Try the Mongolian Lamb!

The fact that this Chinese restaurant is always busy is proof of how good it is. The food is delicious and plentiful. The staff are so nice and very friendly. Well worth a visit.

We've recently the moved to the area and had a local Chinese we were using but it was too greasy and not quite right. We ordered for collection here by chance and were pleasantly surprised with how delicious and fresh the food was! We've definitely found our new favourite Chinese in the area - the chicken in fine egg batter is also worth a try! Thank you :)

The staff are very friendly and efficient. The owner is also an absolute legend who will always make you laugh and feel comfortable if you speak with him. The crispy duck here is especially tasty and most portions are huge (very generous)!

I just moved to the district and decided to give it a shot for a late take-away dinner. The crispy duck was excellent - as everything else I have ordered. Portions are very generous, too. The only downside is that the place is closed on lunch during weekdays. If it weren't, I’d make it my lunch break choice!

5 stars service! Birthday meal at Yun Hai and we had an amazing time. I came here during a weekday once for a takeaway and the food was good. This time I brought my family over for my brother's 30th birthday a few weeks ago on a Sunday evening. We were served by this lovely young waitress with exceptional manners who greeted us right away and seated us at a big table. Not only did we get recommendations of the best dishes, she would come back occasionally to check on us and ask for any refills of our drinks and made conversation. The food here was high quality. We ordered the mixed starter platter for 7 people and it tasted fantastic, especially the chicken wings and prawn toast were crispy and fresh. The Mongolian lamb was to die for and the sizzling steak too. Highly recommend. Generous portions for the prices of food. The dishes are big and filling. My brother and family were impressed by the food and service. The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice too, clean and relaxing with music playing in the background. Accommodating for the kids too. Thank you Yun Hai, we will be back.
