Writing a review of Costa Coffee isn't what I'd normally head to Zomato for, but in my determination to become an expert in Clapham I'm doing it. Because even us foodies go to chains once in a while, and no, they're not always all the same. The costa in Tufnell Park, for example, has the friendliest staff in the world. The Costa in West Hampstead has appalling wifi signal, but you can use the wifi from Starbucks next door instead.

Anyway. This Costa has the world's largest queue on a Saturday morning - you'd think that people in Clapham would be heading to independent coffee shops or maybe even Starbucks at a push, but there you go. Maybe those places have even longer queues.  I just don't know.

Great open space, a lot of seating matched with great service and hot drinks!

Every time I have been there, the service has been good and they always have had enough seating to cater to a mass audience.
The hot drinks especially the latte and hot chocolate have always been amazing!

A place where you can definitely count on for great service and coffee

The staff here are amazing and always have time (if you do) for a friendly chat or to help you out in any way they can. They have the luxury of not being the busiest branch of Costa in London, but that just means you don’t have to worry about finding a seat and can concentrate on relaxing, working, or just watching the world go by. Directly opposite Clapham South station and alongside Clapham Common, it’s well located. Being a Costa you know what you are going to get; and the free wifi worked perfectly too. If you found my review or photos helpful please leave a quick thumbs up 👍 Thank you! ☕️

Me and my boyfriend visited this place yesterday and both of us were very impressed. As coffee lover I like Costa, but especially in this Costa Coffee I found a lot of warmth, coziness and a pleasant atmosphere. Food and drinks were nice as in any Costa. However, what makes this place special in our eyes are the staff, especially Nicolo! The service provided, the kindness and attentiveness are at the highest level! It was pleasure!

The best Costa I have been to. Friendly staff and nice seating area. This probably my 20+ visit. Consistently very good 👍

Best Costa customer service I’ve ever experienced! I ordered an oat flat white (typically 8oz) in a 12oz cup, and the barista filled the entire cup so it was essentially a latte. I drank it but was initially not super happy with it, and when Zoey saw, she offered to make a new cup for me with less milk. She was all smiles and super friendly throughout!

Balham it’s nice and busy area with a few options for a coup of coffee or tea . If you walk only 2 min away from the underground station to Costa coffee shop never regret for this choice because this place have a lovely staff, good and fast service, I recommend this coffee shop. Was busy in this afternoon but the service was really good because I no need to wait much. Also the rest room very clean as well.

I thought this was a nice cosy and friendly coffee shop. There were a couple of hiccups because they nearly served me a strong coffee although I asked for a decaf and I had to remove some used cups from my table. However they were playing some nice music and it’s very convenient because it’s just opposite Clapham South tube station and near to Clapham Common. There is also a Burger King nearby. I’m also had a soft settee to myself so it was worth the visit. The staff seemed very friendly.

Friendly staff, normally plenty of tables and chairs, quick service. Light and airy with lots of floor to ceiling windows to watch the commuters rushing in and out of Clapham South underground station and a couple of tables outside, but on a busy junction.

This branch had been revamped a couple of months ago. They've removed the sofa bench near the door and replaced with tables and chairs and an extra fridge unit. It's brighter than before, but don't like the new menu board. It keeps alternating the pages round and round not giving you the the chance to view your choices.

Lovely staff and great variety of items but I really wish they had different high chairs! The ones stocked are just horrible to use and hardly any child I have been there with has been able to sit in it without bawling their eyes out! Then again it could just be our kids no doubt. Love the hot chocolate here and bacon buns for breakfast. Nice and spacious as well and great baby change facilities.

Nice little Costa. Short staffed when quite busy at 4pm, with just two on. The Yummy Mummies from the posh primary all come in to yammer on their phones and ignore their kds. The tables were not clean, but what can staff do with a constant queue? Lady in front of me spent £20 on food and drinks for two ! This is an expensive area!

Pleasant and helpful staff members work hard and fast during pick times so nobody waits for ever for their coffee. Clean all the time Maybe toilets could be a bit cleaner. Outside pick times it's nice chilled atmosfere.

Great coffee shop located just opposite Clapham South tube. Friendly staff and great coffee, it is often busy but the staff manage to keep up without sacrificing the quality and flavour of the coffee. Would definitely recommend anyone in the area going there.
