A great visit to George IV yesterday, with nice beers and food. It's extremely close to the road leading towards Holborn Station. Would recommend trying it out if you haven't been before.

Sat outside as it was a sunny evening (don't get many of them!) Decent enough choice of beer, I went for a Doom Bar which was lovely. They rotate their craft offering so you get a different choice each time. The pub is located on the LSE campus so you get a lot of students here. Closed at weekends.

Good quality traditional pub between Holborn and the Strand. More ale / craft beer wouldn't go amiss, but well worth a look in.

Traditional English Pub! Fantastic Pimms (in pints or pitchers) and always quite full due to the univeristy nearby! Will definitely be back for a Pimms or a Pint - Had great times there! Thanks a lot for all guys, see you soon.

Without a doubt my favourite place to hang out in the Holborn area! Dave and his team do an amazing job at making you feel at home. The music is great although not too loud which allows you to have a conversation. And now for the bit that you actually care about: prices are very much student friendly!

I think it is part of the London School of Economics these days, but still presumably open for anyone to visit

Located in LSE and has limited food or finger food options. Wine and liquor is reasonably priced.

Two pints in central London for under a tenner - amazing! Really friendly barman and decent atmosphere as well.

Great PUB in the middle of The LSE Campus. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They have a young student crowd, making it a great place to meet new people.

The Lse pubs for postgraduate students. Price are okish but not uni prices. The place is pretty small so the tables get filled up pretty quickly especially on Fridays

George IV is a LSE institution and a great place to soak in the academic environment. Students and staff over-flowing into the adjacent streets is a common sight at the pub. The friendly staff and good collection of drinks makes George IV a must visit. The pub also offers upstairs area for drinks receptions.

Quite an easy pub within the London School of Economics. Always a convenient and accessible joint where lots of academics and students may meet informally for drinks and chats.

The George IV seems integral to the post-graduate experience at the LSE, much like how The Three Tuns is a cornerstone of the undergraduate one, so be prepared as an interloper to be surrounded by discussions on Castells and Snyder while dodging people carrying pints of Snakebites. Service at the George is friendly and the staff work quickly, so there usually isn't much of a wait. However, it's a small space so it's very likely that all the tables will be taken. Turnover at the pub occurs fairly frequently though, so keep sidling up to your table of choice until the previous occupants leave. Alternatively, you can stand outside, which is where half the pub-going population ends up. A similar problem is present vis a vis the female bathrooms since there's only one cubicle, and sometimes the line can be killer. A quick jog to the library may prove to be necessary. The food at the George is generally terrible apart from perhaps the antipasti platter, which is basic but serviceable, but the drinks are a step up from the Tuns. There's a rotating selection of draft ales that can be fairly exciting. Mulled Wine is available in Winter and if you're in a celebratory mood they even stock bottles of Veuve Cliquot. They accept cash, debit card for purchases of £5 and up and LSE sQuid or Loyalty.

Quintessential postgrad bar at LSE. Vast array of drinks, and the best part is that you can pay using sQuid, thus making the hole LSE burns into your pocket that little bit smaller! Such is the appeal of the George that it gets extremely crowded most evenings during term time, so expect to circle the pub like a vulture ready to swoop when a table becomes available. Don't bother with the food, though the lunchtime ploughman's deal isn't bad.

There's more room than in other pubs in the area

The destination for LSE grad students. A bit pricy, but they rotate their ales well. Be prepared to have to hold up the walls outside during term time

Perfect. Good atmosphere and decent prices for students. It gets a bit crowded but that's the whole vibe, right? Love it!
