We live above lazybones so you get a discount on food. We both got burgers and it was good. Wine was nice. Beer a bit flat. We will be back definitely, but not every night.
The menu was simple. Chicken wings, brisket, pulled pork, falafel and fries, it had all my faves! You can order either x4, x8 or x12 chicken wings so we shared 8x Hot! wings, the Brisket Chilli & Crushed Guacamole and Smothered Fries (with monterey cheese).
Been meaning to check this place out for a while, finally got round to it on an early Friday evening. Perfectly pleasant interior and good atmosphere, definitely somewhere I could relax. I ordered the burger (£6.95) with a side of pulled pork (£3) and large chips (£5). The food turned up pretty quickly and I'd say was tasty but not amazing. I also thought the amount charged for the pulled pork side was a bit steep for how much you got. Oddly the pulled pork didn't have a sauce on it, which was a bit disappointing. But it waa fairly tasty. The chips also turned up without any seasoning, but that's fine -and to be honest you got quite a sizeable portion for £5. So overall I would say the food was fairly good, certainly enjoyable if not life changing, but I cant help but feel at nearly £18 for my meal (including a coke) it's too expensive for rwgular visits when there's other burger bars around. Also I should mention there's a hefty double burger on the menu, that looked really tempting -but it's only servee mon-thurs. Odd and disappointing.

American slow food is on something of an upsurge in London at the moment. No wonder, too: it may take flair and a subtle touch to get right, but is about deriving big flavours from essentially cheaper bits of meat, and it doesn't require labour intensivity in the kitchen at peak times, with all the attention having gone into the marinading and pre-cooking.
Comparing best this and thats is a little beyond me, me being a sucker for a good restaurant atmosphere and all, but Farringdon's funky Lazy Bones is a very very good place to start if slow food is what you fancy.
I went on a lunchtime recently, having heard a bit about the place from EC1 locals. It's not the easiest place to find in its position through an alleyway off Cowcross St, but it's actually a lively spot when the punters start rolling in. There was a birthday and a Christmas group lapping it up, and a cluster of suits though it struck me as a pleasantly un-suitly place. Food is ordered at the bar, making sense of the fast slow-food idea, and at the same time making this less a foodie sit-down than a strong idea for a brisk but fun lunch. And if brisk isn't what you want, then the bar lines up a terrific array of US brew including Sam Adams, the native pils Lazy Lager.
It's a good use of an interesting location, too - it somehow feels bigger than it is, daubed in zig-zag video-game chic with high open ceilings, distressed wooden tables, and big lazy sofas. The bar is a reassuring length, giving me faith that at peak times waiting wouldn't be such an issue, and service is fittingly friendly with efficiency uncompromised.
In the there-and-then, our food came after no more than five minutes' wait and at about £25 between us it intersected price and quality very neatly indeed. I had chilli beef brisket in a brioche bun, the meat peaceably hot but tasty as hell and proportioned well with coleslaw, guacamole and peppers. My companion was a little too well dressed to be eating the fantastically messy pulled pork, also in brioche, but his review was superlative (if a little hard to make out between mouthfuls). The chips were a little on the ordinary side but I think a liquid sirloin roast might taste bland next to the gastro-bomb brioches we saw off.
My next visit to Lazy Bones will be one evening, because as a good daytime worker I resisted the lure of a strong-brewed American pint. It just seemed the right sort of place to be throwing back chicken wings and hearty conversation, so I can't promise my employer that I will be so restrained next time.
The manager there was such a delight last week and friendly. Stopped for a drink to wait for friends to finish work.
Will definitely come here again.
Had the pleasure of eating here the other day during lunch. Tucked away so can miss it when walking on the main strip. A good selection of drinks and food.
Really enjoyed the ribs and skinny fries here. Before 8pm, a good selection of cocktails is half price.
Nipped in for a lunch with some friends. Great atmosphere, and wasn't packed full. Menu's simple but tasty American fayre. Cocktails looked really tempting as well.
Had the fried chicken, was crispy and fresh. Pulled pork burger looked good too - lunch and a drink came to £15 . Definitely coming again.
This place has a great happy hour deal - lots of drinks for half price (around £5), which is a great value in London. Also not my favorite selection of beers, no stouts that I noticed. That said, on hot days, it's hot outside and HOTTER INSIDE. Also, the lines for drinks during happy hour are crowded and chaotic.
Worth checking it out, and I pass close by on my commute, but not my fav.
American diner style place with some good food options, although it's definitely pretty fast-food style. A little more classy than Tinseltown round the corner, but not by much. Service is good, but a little 'quirky' - ie. the staff have clearly been told to be 'personalities', and it takes a little getting used to. Not a bad place all in all, and pretty good for a chilled lunch, but don't expect to be blown away.
Unfortunately there menu does not include smoked meats anymore but there burgers are a hit especially the vegan burger. The manager there named Paulina was amazing and helpful , she really went above and beyond.
It's a nice place, and the food is very tasty and good, but they are very trigger happy on the salt. My sweet potatoes are always being served salted, despite stating that I want them unsalted. It's the only place I've been, that I have to worry about that.
We stopped in here for a quick lunch in between a training course. With a group of eight we were worried we wouldn't get in but at 12:30 it was surprisingly empty.
I had the hot chicken burger and it was nice but a little dry. The burger itself is pretty big so you might want to share sides instead of getting one yourself. Friends had pulled pork burgers and said they were okay too!
When we were getting ready to leave at 1:30 it was really rammed so I'm glad we were able to get in and out so quickly. The service was good and it was a nice place to go for a quick lunch.
Great food, nice staff & atmosphere
The first time I went here, I tweeted them beforehand and they gave me a *very* friendly welcome: There is nothing weirder than being addressed by strangers with your first name.
It was all good fun and despite a not so good dog, the chicken wings are out of this world. If you ever want wings, this is the place to go. The BBQ ones are to die for. A good selection of beer and friendly staff means I will happily frequent this place more often. Especially if their food challenge sees the light of day...!
Lovely place! Food is good and a good place to rolax!
Good selection of beers. Nice food. Not so many vegetarian option but as you would expect from American menu. Nachos, veggie con carne, veggie burger a few of vegetarian options.
A lot of sports screens, not to miss in a sports season.
