🚇 Dalston Kingsland 🍺 £5.00 Asahi ❤️ A welcoming down to earth Dalston boozer. . The Railway Tavern sits at the most easterly edge of Islington where N16 meets N1 and E8. Although the pub would suggest it’s a station pub, Dalston Kingsland Station is a five minute walk away. . The pub was built in 1866 and has a unique shape and facade that curves gently around the corner. There are a few benches out front to enjoy a pint in the warmer months. . The decor here makes for a proper down to earth London pub feel. The seating is traditional with wooden banquette seating around the walls. At the the far end of the bar is a flowery wallpapered snug, a great place if you fancy a more intimate pub experience. Around the walls there are an eclectic mix of prints and posters to add a bit of intrigue. . The beer choice was diverse and had a bit of something for everyone. It was great to see London breweries like @fivepointsbrew and @brixtonbrewery well represented here. After a bit of deliberation I decided on a pint of Asahi, my pint was excellent and only cost a fiver, this is the cheapest I have paid for Asahi in London. The food offering here comes from @amoraypizza , there is a broad variety on offer and most pizzas cost around a tenner. . The atmosphere here was superb and had a real community feel. The crowd was a mix of oldschool regulars and the new to the area crowd. The service was good and the staff were attentive. . The @railwaytavernn16 is one of those pubs where you immediately feel welcome and everything seems effortless. This pub has an oldschool feel and hopefully that doesn’t change anytime soon, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Loved it here, I’m sure you will too. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 15/10/22

New favourite pub. After a few years of lazy custodianship this pub is now back to where it should be. Great ambiance, brilliant staff and a great crowd. They’ve also ripped out the wooden shelter at the front which has boosted the overall aesthetics. Well done guys!

A pretty good bar in the backstreets of a lively area (to say the least). Not sure I’d stray here of a nighttime though. The beer selection was pretty good and prices were very fair. The transport theme was good too and you can’t knock a moquette style stool either. One of the better pubs in the area.

Cosy pub with cute (modern) kitschy railway decor. Out of the way of the main road but with plenty of punters still. Has an actual fire too. The only food we had were the tater tots but these alone were excellent. Great hospitality from the bar staff too, felt appreciated.

This is a great local pub that really hits the spot if you're looking for a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The decor is simple but charming, with plenty of seating options to choose from, whether you're looking for a quiet corner or a spot to catch up with friends. But the real standout here is the pizza - it's seriously delicious! There are plenty of toppings to choose from. The drinks selection is also impressive, with a great range of beers, wines, and spirits to choose from. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. Whether you're in the mood for a casual night out or a quick bite to eat this is a great choice, it is also dog friendly which is always a nice plus.

Staff was ok'ish but it is a top notch pub after all. Pizzas are definitely worth it so do order one as soon as you arrive as the kitchen closes early.

Nice welcoming pub. I don’t go often but I live nearby and people are always having a good time chilling and chatting there. I stop in occasionally and grab a pizza.
