Great pub! Good selection of ales and also the larger stuff. Staff all very friendly and the food is way above your standard pub grub. 5*

Visited for coffee - which was great - after having a wander around the shops. My friend and I were delighted to find a jazz band playing on this afternoon on Sunday. We will be back! Very attentive and friendly staff too.

For the beer alone, the man loves this place.

It holds an ale festival, with kegs of beer all lined up to try and regularly changes it's guest ales on the million different taps it has there.

It's such a fun quirky place, with games on the shelves to play with, random posters and decor everywhere. It looks gorgeous at night, all lit up with strings of lights on the front. It gets VERY busy at weekends and can take a long time to get a drink but they have a decent choice of live music and DJs to keep you entertained. Summer in the front garden is very nice and hot and they place always looks busy, even in the day.

The pub quiz was quite hard and food wasn't that great but they just got a new chef so I will update this once I've tried the new meals, maybe bump their rating up if it's much better.

Revisited Oct '15
Unfortunately, went to try the new chef's roast on a Sunday and found it a bit dry. Veggie Wellington was very nice but the rest of the plate let it down.

Staff super friendly and helpful. Wasn’t sure which white wine to get, bar stuff knew by my description what flavours I liked and recommended one. Great atmosphere, definitely go back.

I really love this pub… it’s in an excellent location with great transport links - Crystal Palace station 5 minutes walk, Gypsy Hill station 10-15 minutes walk and a good choice of buses. The food is a little pricey but well worth it! Excellent choice of spirits, beers/ales, cocktails and soft drinks. They have private function rooms for hire and you can bring a wireless speaker for music if you desire. As it is a public house children have to be off the premises at 9pm due to licensing. I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue.

Nice pub. Everything well presented. Nothing not to like really. Beers good, staff nice. Have only had the sandwiches but they were great. Refreshingly inexpensive. 😊 Great place to meet someone. 👍

Good quizzes and friendly staff. Lots of space, good beers on tap and always get a table. That said, >£15 for a very small vegan burger and fries and not much else feels like robbery and is probably 80%+ margin for them. Could throw some onion rings, double up the small burger patty or add more vegan cheese to beef it up to a regular burger size/fillingness. I shouldn't be hungry again an hour or two later for a pub burger 😄🍔

Good for a Saturday lunch with a healthy selection of meals. Had the burger with chips and extra bacon, definitely a safe pick and tasted great. Pub looks good with a nice feel to it, Seating is good inside and out. Only thing I would say was annoying was you could only order drinks using the qr code, you had to go to the bar to order food.

Ambience is great as ever. I tried the "pubdesking", which was quite nice. It was just a pity that both the website and confirmation email state that an after-work pint is included in the £15 fee. However, when asking about this at the pub, it was mentioned that this was not the case and that I would need to pay £4 extra. When I mentioned that this was not completely fair compared to what is offered online, the staff member got offended and seemed to be very uninterested in communicating this to his manager. This was a real unfortunate ending of quite a nice day. I feel that this does make the pubdesking offer less attractive.

Great place for food and drink reasonably priced and fast service we stopped in before a gig on a busy Saturday and were seated quickly, great range on the menu and good range of non alcoholic beers. Friendly service and happy to make changes to our orders. Right next to crystal palace park so great location too

Easter Sunday Lunch was a delight. There was a nice atmosphere. We were seated in the library which had doors opening onto the outdoor seating area. We are a family of four and all chose different roasts which were tasty plentiful and well cooked with offers of extra gravy, plenty of vegetables lovely roasties. The staff were quick and responsive, the manager was on the ball but lovely and kind to our 7 year old. The pub had paid for a fantastic person to come and face paint which was free to us as a family. Really nice touch. Would definitely recommend, nice and close to Crystal Park and caravan site. We will be back!

I recently visited this pub that I found to be a great spot to unwind with friends after a long day. The pub had a lot of things going for it, including a nice outdoor seating area, friendly staff, spacious interior, delicious food, and a lively atmosphere. One of the things that stood out about the pub was the outdoor seating area. The seating was comfortable, and there were plenty of tables and chairs available. Additionally, the staff were attentive and made sure that our orders were taken promptly. The pub's interior was also spacious, with plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors. Despite being busy, it never felt overcrowded or claustrophobic. The decor was stylish and modern, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The food at the pub was excellent. We ordered a few different dishes to share, and everything was delicious. The menu was varied, with a good selection of classic pub fare and more contemporary options. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. They were attentive without being intrusive, and they always made sure that we had everything we needed. Overall, I would highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a vibrant and busy spot to enjoy good food, drinks, and company. The outdoor seating, friendly staff, and spacious interior make it a great spot for groups of all sizes, and the delicious food and lively atmosphere are sure to make it a favorite among pub-goers.

Great stay would return again. Rooms are good size and comfortable. Decor was nice too. Bathroom was great with powerful hot shower. Toiletries too. Only downside was our room was adjacent to a large extractor outlet, which was noisy 247 so if a light sleeper you would need earplugs. Can’t comment on the pub itself for this trip but have been in the past for quiz and Christmas carols and has always been great!
