friendly staff especially the wild haired Mark very good service, and the food never let's you down.
This is one place you must go to if you are going for the theater nearby. Try to get a seat by the window which offers an amazing view. The staff is very pleasant, quick and efficient. The place is quite relaxing and very hygienic. The menu offer a variety of food ranging from sandwiches to curries which are all delicious! Definitely worth a visit.
This was one of those lovely pubs which I would want to visit again for the good service that they offer and the amazing ambience. You can try the wine and some snacks to go with that. It is going to be an enjoyable experience and you will appreciate the pocket friendliness of the menu.
The location of the restaurant is favorable and interesting. the presentation of the food is also quite ice although i did not try any. The staff is friendly and attentive. the prices are also reasonable. They have a superb collection of cask ales that is the prime factor working in its favor.
This is the perfect spot for having a couple of cheap beers, if you're in the neighborhood. The service of this place is pretty friendly as well, and the servers seem happy to serve you, which is quite rare in the restaurants around London.
We had a fun time having a couple of drinks and a few nice starters.
This is a really good place to go and enjoy a drink or two with your friends. They have some great value for money wine list and its quite exquisite. They have set benches on the pavement, where you sit and really enjoy your drink on a sunny day. Order some chips along with your drink!
I happened to visit this place a couple of weeks back during my vacation in London. The restaurant seemed like a nice place to have a couple of drinks and served some really amazing burger and chips. The place was pumping with nice music and the staff was pretty generous and friendly.
If you want to go out for a wholesome lunch experience then this is the place to go to. From the jazz music in the background to the well cooked, creatively presented food, cordial service and the variety in the choice of drinks everything is just perfect. The place has an old world feel to it and you will really enjoy it. It is worth a visit.
We stopped at this place a couple of weeks ago to have some drinks and came back a couple of days later, to try out their lunch as well. During both of our visits, the pub was a little quiet, and the place had a dull environment. The food was prepared brilliantly and tasted delicious.
I would like to visit this place again during rush hours sometime.
If you are looking for a perfect relaxing experience on a Sunday then this place is highly recommended. The place is beautiful and the servers take such good care of you that you cannot help smiling and appreciating them. Personal attention is paid to the food that is served to you and is appropriately roasted according to your needs. A place with a personal touch!
If you go to this place after 245 pm then you would not be served lunch. This is something that I found very strange. There wasn't too much of a rush and the place was clean which was the good part. The sandwiches that they offer are pretty much the usual ones and the menu lacks variety. The taste is also pretty much average. You should visit only if you don't really have an option!
Decent place for a pint. The burger is a bit lacking to be honest, especially for £13.
The smash burger is in the pic, and honestly was a little bit disappointing. The lord Nelson down the road is a much better option for burgers
🚇 Southwark
🍺 £5.70 Heineken
❤️ A friendly corner boozer in the backstreets of Southwark.
.
The Union Jack is easy to get to and is just a couple of minutes walk from Southwark Tube.
.
This pub used to be called The King of Prussia and changed its name during WWI. Architecturally this Victorian pub is simple in appearance and has several ornate columns around the outside of the pub.
.
The pub is split in to three distinct areas, the bar area, a raised seating area and a back room. The bar area has a traditional feel to it, the raised area and back room look completely different to the bar and you would think you were in a different pub. The raised area and back room has a proper pub carpet, a hotch potch of different well worn sofas and the walls are filled with an eclectic mix of artwork by up and coming artists. I did visit the khazi and it could do with a bit of love.
.
This Independent pub has a straight up selection of beers, I ordered a pint of Heineken from the chatty and welcoming barman. My pint was decent enough and average price so no complaints from me. This pub is card only.
.
I visited on a warm July day, the majority of punters were sat outside on the dozen or so benches. Inside it was relaxed and chilled affair, there was a downtempo soundtrack playing in the background creating a nice ambiance.
.
The Union Jack is a laid back pub and has a homely feel to it. I loved the oldschool pub carpet and the service was good. Definitely worth a look in here.

Good pub near Southwark tubes station. Two cask beers on handpump when I visited. The walls are covered in contemporary art, much of it for sale. Plenty of outdoor seating.
Went to the Union Jack pub for The Philosophy Cafe meetup. Great venue, great location and highly interesting discussions!
Nice place to have a drink after work. Excellent service and very friendly pub.
Loads of room here and very comfy seating in the form of sofas and armchairs. Ideal for a Saturday lunchtime pint and chillax. The only fault was that the soundtrack was harsh FM radio. Not what you want the morning after the night before. Some nice chilled ambient tracks and I would've happily spent the afternoon there.
Perfectly decent boozer. Slightly more worn and relaxed than nearby alternatives which I liked it for. Beer range is ok but I didn’t spot any real ales. Long may this oasis of a pub continue.
Had a quick drink and light lunch . Met the landlady who was so lovely , stopped and had a lovely conversation 😊 , will 100% be returning . Matthew , Tara otis and lola ( from exeter )
Google calls it the UJ. I always call it the Union Jack. Anyway, it's a good pub. Good selection of beers, plenty of seating, including some comfy sofas and outside seating. Sometimes I been there when they have live music
I had great time there and ate the veggie lasagna, I enjoyed them, at first the waitress want that welcoming but the lady i was with who ordered her drinks did sound a little rude as she's just starting learning English. Waitress warned up after that.
The menu board could be improved as it's nearly impossible to read it.
I still wonder what was written in the top lines.
A great place for a pint of Tribute with Scampi and chips for lunch on a hot afternoon in the shade…..well done guys!!
Quiet place to have a drink, at my visit is relaxing, people watching, enjoying myself.
Good pub with outdoor space, great variety of beers
Good place, really friendly staff, good selection of beers and wines. A London backstreet boozer, don't overlook.
