Back with a bang! Buzzing atmosphere, flawless and authentic cocktails. You won’t find a better Sazerac or Vieux Carré on this side of the Atlantic. Only tried the bar snacks on this occasion - hush puppies were exactly the foil you need for whiskey and cognac-laced cocktails. Will be back to go through the full food menu!

I was at the Nola bar on roman road this Thursday and the experience was excellent. starting from the design you can see that they open recently and so you can feel that something still missing but overall cozy and welcoming with this warm note of decaying french bar in the early 50s and a speak easy during the prohibition. Bar over the top, delicious cocktails i tried the Ramon's Fizz and the old fashioned.(10 presentation,10 execution and 10 for the taste) with a professional and funny bar stuff and really nice bar snack (try the bacon is bang on). But a special thanks goes to the manager, Max, who was absolutely a super star. the bar was packed and he has done his best to find a little space for me, also he suggested the cocktails and food pairing telling me the story of the cocktails and how everything was made. He is a professional and funny Lad if you go to the Nola is he the man!

I popped in on a quiet Tuesday evening with two friends and we were seated promptly at a nice booth near the piano. With regards to cocktails the choice is a little bit overwhelming. With cocktails priced from £9.50 - £14 they are on the higher end of average for London. That being said, we all thought they were exceptional value. Even with long drinks you could taste the alcohol but also taste the other ingredients so it didn't feel like a virgin cocktail but didn't seem overly potent either. A lot of attention to detail goes into these drinks and so if you're just here to get wasted, this is not the place for you but as a place to sit and relax with friends it's great. In terms of service... I can see why some reviews have said it isn't great. They are helpful in the sense they will help you choose a drink but they're not overly friendly. They're efficient but they're not there to be your friends which is fine? A bartender is there to make you a good drink, not to chat about the weather with you. If you're hoping they're going to ask about your day, then you are in the wrong place. The music is great, not too loud but just adding to the nice, cosy atmosphere. They do have southern food such as beignets, gumbo and fried okra but we didn't have a chance to try it but it was all reasonably priced. The atmosphere is amazing, the drinks are great quality and it was the closest thing outside New Orleans to a New Orleans bar I've ever found. I loved it here and will definitely be back.

A lovely warm welcome from Chef (Will) and Bartender (Alessandro) upon arrival. Seated immediately at the bar and presented with a cold beer and frozen glass...the perfect cure for the crazy hot weather London was experiencing. Wonderful hospitality from start to finish and super tasty food and drink (solid work on the cocktails!), my friend and I had a brilliant time at Nola. We had wings followed by praline bacon (dreamy), then a seriously tasty gumbo (seriously) and homemade pecan pie with salted caramel ice cream to finish. 100% recommend.

This was quite a nice place for a casual night out. The bar staff are nice but not over friendly, which is fair just don't expect a lot of playful banter. The drinks are fairly expensive but they do not mess around with their measures! They also have a prolific set of rules which effectively boils down to this is not a pub for rowdy parties this is a sit down nice conversations on a casual night kind of place. All in all it was really enjoyable but I did not get a chance to try the food, which stays true to their n'orleans heritage

I went in with a friend and had the best time! Mel waved us in from the street and was very attentive but not imposing it was very refreshing! drinks were amazing, and the food was insane. The chef's name was Will i believe? We had the chicken wings and they were some of the best i've had in London. I cant wait to go back and try some more! and on top of all that they had live music in form of a piano guy, it was really nice and cosy and had a very nice vibe to it, will definitely come back!

Superb little find. The interior decor is reminiscent of an authentic 1930's New Orleans speakeasy with soft jazz filling the cozy room. Staff were courteous, friendly and very knowledgable about their drinks. The place is admittedly a little tricky to find but once you understand the location this place really is a little gem worth seeking out. Be sure to book because you are only allowed allocated time slots due to the size and evident popularity of the place.

As someone born and raised in NOLA, both the cocktails and the atmosphere perfectly capture the charm and fun of New Orleans at its finest. The food isn't quite there in terms of seasoning or spiciness, but it's plenty good in it's own right and still more satisfying than typical bar food. Don't miss this spot.

Great bar hidden away in Shoreditch. Killer cocktail list, table service, great atmosphere... Perfect for a date. It gets busy so I recommend you book a table. If you want a cheap pint or are in a large group, there are more suitable places.

Nola on roman road is a restaurant and boutique cocktail bar 3 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube so super easy to get to and definitely on the hip Bethnal Green cocktail trail alongside Satan's whiskers and The London cocktail club. It's a fabulous place to go as a couple or a group for expertly made cocktails from the menu or a bespoke cocktail based on your personal tastes as the staff really know their stuff when it comes to mixology. The food is fantastic and lives up to the New Orleans Louisiana vibes with delicious options like Jambalaya and bacon dipped in praline on the menu that will have you wanting more. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming and the decor inside is beautiful with a mix of whiskeys and bourbons hanging from the ceiling over the bar and funky wallpaper and art deco lighting setting the mood. Worth checking out it's definitely a hidden gem :)

Had a great evening here with collegues after work. The cocktails were prepared by Alessandro all the drinks tasted amazing. Was great that he was able to spent some with us to find out our likes and made great recomendations. The food cooked by Will was amazing. The chicken wings in a nice spicy sweet tomato sauce where the chicken was just falling away from the wing. The blacken tilapia was my dish of the night the fish was lovley and moist and a lovely aromatics from the spice mix, the chili salsa completed the dish. I cant wait to come pack next time im in town.
