The meat here is incredible, everything I've tried has been cooked to perfection. Out of all the wild game the boar is my favourite.
It's a bit on the expensive side but I think the quality of the food just about justifies the price.
Service is excellent but it gets very busy so either go early or during off peak times.
Fitzrovia is about to be overrun by lobster restaurants, but street food veterans Wild Game Co. have arrived first on Charlotte Street to keep those crustaceans at bay. There's no need to look it up on Google Maps, just keep walking until you see a giant stag...
All the meat at Wild Game Co. comes from owner Andy Waugh's family business in the Highlands, Ardgay Game. On the launch menu there are burgers (from £6), salads, bargain steak frites (only £12.50), and heart-warming stovies (£3.50). Expect the likes of partridge, pigeon and rabbit to make an appearance on a specials board soon too.
We went straight for The Veni-moo (£8.50), a venison burger & a Highland beef burger, with double cheese and beef bacon, and home-made bearnaise sauce, with some beef dripping fries (£2.50) on the side. It was a joy to eat, and a cut above anything I had at posh burger joint Bobo Social down the road.
The building sadly doesn't allow for an alcohol license, so there's more Irn Bru than Innis & Gunn, but home-made root beer and more will soon make an appearance.
Wild Game Co. is bound to be very popular as there isn't too much else in this area like it. Pleasantly low prices and speedy service (not to mention delicious food) will appeal to students and the lunch crowd in particular. Andy, still in street food mode, was chatting away to all the customers, and I can imagine you would feel like a regular here in no time. A very promising start - I'll check back again soon.
Keep an eye out for Wild Game Co.'s special events around town such as their 8-course game extravaganza, Struie Road, at Workshop Coffee.
It's also worth perusing their excellent website which has all sorts of enticing recipes and more information on their meat.

An absolute delight. Arrived 7pm to be very warmly welcomed by a smiling team of staff, who provided excellent guidance on the menu without any pushiness toward the more expensive stuff.
The venison burger was like no other burger I've ever had - and I am extremely well versed in burgers. Cooked to absolute perfection with incredible meat. Gorgeous plump bun too. AND THE HAGGIS!! That was one to remember. Unbelievably good. The sauce. The crunch. YUM.
But I have to say with such delicious meat my belly was crying out for a bit of booze to complement it - and this place is booze free. Hopefully this is only temporary as I will most certainly be back regardless!
Had a venison Burger and it was hands down the best Burger in London. Juicy, medium rare by default and ... only 5 pounds? Amazing value, great cozy, atmosphere in buzzing Fitzrovia with lovely service. Did I mention the fries seem to be homemade and delicious too?
Absolutely sublime! Ended up in this little last (Saturday) night with my girlfriend, almost by accident, and had one of the best meals out in London in a long time.
The Venison was amazing and cooked to perfection, the beowolf burger was packed full of flavour and the stovies side was so good we ordered it twice! Add to that the friendliest service from Adam (although I'm not surprised being that he's Glaswegian) and a cosy, fun and social atmosphere I'm surprised we got a table straight away.
We will definitely be back and having more venison, stovies and trying the haggis pops ASAP! Beautiful
DELICIOUS. I have been there about 5 times and keep coming back - the Chateaubriand is simply delicious (a lot of meat and very tender) and the normal steak frites and wild salad are lovely. The steak is very well cooked (medium rare) and excellent value - I don't know where in London one can find such quality for £12.50.
Very relaxed atmosphere too, casual and easy.
Wild Game has some fantastic food and the guys who run it clearly know their stuff! i consider myself to be a venison connoisseur (i.e. I eat it a lot!) and the venison steak frites was one of the best i have cuts I have tasted! Juicy, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Around £20 for the steak and a beer plus a tip is very reasonable as venison can be pricey in many establishments
The service is polite, unstuffy and light-hearted and the Scottish manager (Adam I believe) was a great host on the night.
I will be returning!
Had an impromptu dinner at the Wild Game Co last night; actually were booked to go elsewhere but were drawn in by the Scots menu (haggis pops and stovies) and the deal was sealed by a free taster of aforementioned stovies. Came back after a couple of strong beers at the Draft House, and tucked in to haggis pops and the award-winning (literally that night) Beowolf Burger. The burger was incredible - juicy meat, sweet onions, sour cabbage and a healthy dosing of chilli cheese! Left feeling full and happy, after a lovely chat with the manager. Definitely recommend!
For me, steak is best kept simple and something I rarely plan on sharing. The Wild Game Co. served a perfect medium rare topside of venison that came pre-sliced, presented simply on a wooden board (rather than arranged in any pretentious architectural feat) and was somewhat shielded from prying eyes by a generous pot of their beef dripping fries. A surprisingly light béarnaise sauce rounded off a meal that not only satisfied my primal urge for meat but also left me thinking that all those at Gaucho across the road had got it so wrong. The sociable staff (and fellow diners, including a rather entertaining enfant terrible) also made for a very pleasant experience.
Given that this is the freshest venison we have ever, ever tasted, prices are extremely reasonable; choose from a range of burgers (£7ish – and we’re talking proper burgers here – stacked up with grilled cherry tomatoes, caramelised onions and in-house, homemade sauces), salads (£5ish) steaks (£12ish, with chips) or share a Chateaubriand for two if you’re feeling flush! You can even try a ‘stovie’ (a hearty Scottish stew) for just £3.50 and if you have any questions about the food, the guys are happy to chat away.

If you appreciate nice service (we arrived after a rough day and things looked up the minute we were greeted), the right atmosphere and above all seriously good food then stop wasting time reading a google review and just plan a trip to the Wild Game co.
I'm saving up for the Chateubriand but will have to go back soon for very reasonably priced vension burgers.
Sweet Jesus they hit the spot and talking of sweet so did the Valrhona chocolate brownie.
I'm actually a chef and I have my own place in town too so I don't dish out praise lightly but when you enjoy something this much you're obliged to tell the truth.
This lot are not messing about ok? Nuff said.
Hands firmly down, the BEST Burger in London.
Exquisite.
Absolutely bladdy exquisite!
Such a good meaty restaurant in a cosy place with very friendly staff!! Highly recommended. Do not forget the amazing brownie.
Great venison burger and the duck fat fries were scrumptious. First time I have tried them today.
Probably the best steak I've ever had, great service and atmosphere too. Awesome food and experience.
Amazing food and service ! Big plus the chef's hug at the end of the meal !
Will defenetly come back .
