Great coffee, not so yummy chai latte. Very friendly girl attended us - always good to have positivity specially at hard times like these.
We love sitting by the window to grab a frame of the bypassers going to/from Candem Passage. Pastries were tasty and fresh. Stop by and watch this part of the world go by.
Coolness alert: they have a SWAP BOOK station - take your already read books to their store, and swap it for new ones. They have nice titles, make sure yours are good as well;-)
It is an amazing place and the service is great. Unfortunately, they dont have wifi internet and I had to use hotspot to connect my laptop which was really slow. The environment is very cosy and engaging. Loved the chamomile tea and the tables. I was surprised they do offer table service although it requires order ahead. Totally recommend for either a quite day or an entertaining one. Its a place for everyone
Food was tasty but portion was a little meagre. My complaints are that the poached eggs were overly done, and my iced mocha was tasteless as it was diluted. Otherwise, friendly staff, chill cafe and good choice of music.
Great little Cafe. The owner and staff are genuinely beautiful people. The clientele are super interesting- a cross section of musicians, film makers and writers and of course a cast of other characters. A warm welcoming environment. I know for sure they are planning to do a lot of exciting events after lock-down so this is a place to watch. Places like Appestat are what make Islington and for that matter London special. Wonderful reminder of how great people can be in a time of so much anger - love this place (tap the picture to hear the great music these two proper gentlemen improvised)

I’ve often fallen in love with coffee shops, becoming a dedicated customer but then all too often, 1 bad coffee turns into many bad coffees and I end up looking else where. Well, it’s been a solid year and I have never had a single ‘bad coffee’ at Appestat. The coffee is delicious and easily the best coffee I’ve ever had. The owner is an absolute delight too; a really warm and welcoming person. Clearly she pours her heart and soul into her little gem of a place. Highly recommend

Have been going to this place for years for coffee and yummy brunch. The staff is super friendly and this place has a great neighbourhood feel! So glad they have kept open through lockdown as my coffee skills are nowhere near as good and it’s been a welcome excuse to try their AMAZING banana bread and choc chip cookies 🤤
They have the best coffee around Angel - my favourite's Flat White. And the staff here are a major plus. Superbly friendly and welcoming, making this place like a second home to me. ❤️ they even bother to remember you and your favourite order! Also, ample plugs available in case your phone or laptops run out of juice!
I visited Appestat with a friend on a recent trip to Angel Islington London. We were drawn to it as it is very similar to my friends cafe in Saddleworth. The vibe was fabulous. The staff were very welcoming, the art on the walls adds warmth. We shared a piece of vegan Guinness cake....it was scrumptious & hit the spot. The coffee was very good, with a choice of non dairy milk too. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

Head and shoulders above the other coffee shops in Angel, with some great food options!
This is our go-to destination for their wonderful and consistent coffee courtesy of their excellent barista team. Very friendly and knowledgeable baristas who know their coffee well – flat white is always perfectly texturised and velvety with luxurious microfoam and subtle creamy taste. Despite their skills, the team are really down to earth and welcoming without the attitude that typifies so many London artisan coffee joints. Anika the owner is always charming and hospitable – its obvious she genuinely cares about her customers and the place has a real community vibe.
And if that wasn’t enough, they have just appointed a new chef, who has already created some culinary masterpieces. Not often I get excited about porridge but I am now addicted to his porridge with mince pie chutney concoction. And their cheese toastie with nduja is out of this world – literally oozes flavour - words won’t do it justice – you just have to try it for yourself!
They do an excellent mint hot chocolate here. Highly recommended just for that experience. Otherwise it's a small coffee shop run by some lovely ladies serving pastries to compliment your hot drink. A good place to hide on a rainy day with your laptop.

Great coffee, cake and amazing staff. My contactless transaction didn't work and neither the staff member not I noticed it until a few minutes afterwards. I went up to pay again and my coffee and delicious cake was in the house. This, folks, is customer service.
