Reasonable place with decent prices for tea. I enjoyed and appreciated their offering of teas - but a little help in selecting the tea would be beneficial.

Yumchaa has incredibly interesting teas and some good treats to go with !

I loved the raspberry vanilla and the good listener, ohh yes that's the name of a tea!
The service is really nice and it's usually busy.

What I didn't like was that the furniture felt a little too rundown and it didn't do any justice to the huge space downstairs.
I wish the renovate the place soon.

Most cafes that offer tea don't venture beyond English Breakfast, green or mint. Yumchaa therefore, is a breath of fresh air for tea drinkers who want to experience the pleasures of tea in a cafe environment. The wide selection can stump tea amateurs, but the workers have a decent knowledge of the brews on offer and can suggest something suited to your palate/desire. As it was afternoon, I opted for early grey and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. The tea was perfect but the cake was terribly dry. The chairs and tables feel like they're about to collapse. WiFi reaches good speeds

Best selection of tea I've ever seen in London and it's probably on par with tea pigs(maybe even better) in terms of quality. The first thing you'll notice is that instead of chucking a teabag in a cup and pouring some hot water they brew the tea the traditional way and then you can pour yourself a cup using a strainer.
Although the price is quite dear for tea each pot has about two and a half cups worth of tea so in a way it works out. For those of you who prefer coffee unfortunately I haven't tried the coffee there but my friend did and she said it was decent. Therefore, even if you are a coffee person I recommend you make an exception for this place after all what would you prefer decent coffee or exceptional tea?
One thing I wasn't impressed with was the quality of the pastries, I had the apple, apricot and cinnamon cake which seemed to lack freshness and in terms of taste it was average. Apart from this one negative the overall experience was delightful. The venue has a very homely and rustic design and the staff are very nice and friendly. The only warning I have is that during peak times it's very difficult to get a place to sit.

For once I’m not visiting a coffee shop and offending people by ordering a tea, I am finally giving tea the space and time that is so solely deserves; okay I may be a bit biased on that one.

My little legs took me to the Soho branch of this brewtiful little place that specialises in tea.

It’s a pretty handy location as it’s literally just off Oxford Street, so it’s a nice place to avoid to buzz of the city – but my God does it get busy! Now, as a blogger, you shamelessly have to snap away and not think anything of it – but, this place was so busy, I most likely would have started some form of argument if I snapped the interior, so I’ll just have to save that until next time.

Really simple white exterior with black typefront, and as you walk in you’re greeted with exposed brick (love this!) and wood, ooooh the wood! The thing that I absolutely adored was the mish mash of furniture, it gives it a little quirky feel. Now when you walk in, you’re literally walking straight into the counter, and there are a few tables on the right, but when you walk downstairs you’re greeted by an array of tables and chairs – so don’t worry, it’s bigger than it looks!

Just be warned: downstairs gets ridiculously hot, even with the little electric fans they’ve dotted about all over the place, it well and truly doesn’t make a difference.

This spot is absolutely perfect if you’re after some solo-working time, a litttle peace and quiet from the main street, or if you’re catching up with a friend. As I have said before, it does get busy, so maybe bring a set of headphones if you really want to get in to the working zone. I personally rocked up with a backpack full of goodies, which kept me going for a good few hours – I was the envy of a few people as I had a table and plug socket – you snooze you lose my friends.

So, I genuinely haven’t seen so many teas, and it was a little intimidating; before I reached the lady behind the counter, I had already decided on one flavour, but then completely changed my mind at the last minute – “Ooooooh, eeerrr……I’LL HAVE EARL GREY BLUE STAR”. Now I’ll let you in on a cheeky secret, I drink Earl Grey on a regular basis, so I just wanted to see what was different with this variety. This tea contains: Natural Bergamot oils, Blue Mallow flowers, Cornflowers and a Keemun black tea base. With the blue flower undertones, it’s meant to make this tea smoother.

Not only does Yumchaa’s building have character, their tea descriptions also captured me. When I was reading the description for Earl Grey Blue Star, it had this sentence in it; “If this tea was a person, it’s flavour and charm would quietly disarm you, think James Bond meets Capitan Jean Luc Picard.” Now, I’m sorry but who wouldn’t go for a tea after reading that? But, it made the choice less intimidating, and I guess less pompous – there’s a fine line between being accessible to everybody, and portraying yourself to one kind of person, which unfortunately a lot of coffee houses do nowadays.

I also ordered a posh cheddar sandwich and lemon drizzle cake to go alongside my tea. The tea turned up in a cute one person set, and I have to say that I genuinely didn’t taste much of a difference, it maybe just tasted a little stronger – but I’m going to say that’s because it was a loose tea. Next time I’ll be having some fun with the flavours - Caramel Sweetheart. come at me.

The posh cheddar sandwich was huge; sundried tomatoes, cheese, onion, pickle, and I’m pretty sure they had a tangy tomato relish in there – which, unfortunately did make it a little sickly after a while. The lemon drizzle cake was a decent portion size, and tasted particularly fresh; in fact it was still moist. The lemon flavour’s weren’t too overpowering either, so this is one I’d definitely order again.

All in all, it was great, but I’ll be a little more adventurous next time.

We went to this place three times while in London for vacation. The gentleman helping us was so warm, helpful, and kind. He remembered us after the first visit, and had great tea recommendations for a non-tea drinker like me. We liked him so much, on our last night, after they had closed, we stopped by just to thank him and say good-bye. This man has left a lasting impression on us and our visit to London. Thank you sir!

Good atsmosphere, local people, great location, good red velvet cake that goes well with a flatwhite.. I give 4 star because matcha latte had a little plain taste.. I regret not trying any teas here..:( Overall a nice cafe, but sometimes it gets too crowded.

Simply amazing establishment. Have been a frequent visitor and love the excellent service, the kind staff, the brilliant tea, the atmosphere and everything about this place. My favourite teas are the Chelsea chai, Jasmine tea and Apple Spice tea, though many others of their very broad selection are brilliant too. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Small, friendly tea shop with a wide variety of teas. It was very crowded but other people were friendly and quick to share a table with them. Quite a few people on their laptop working. It was a nice refuge from a day of walking in cold London.

A cosy little cafe, great selection of teas as well as other hot and cold drinks and sweet treats. The interior is shabby chic with mismatched tables, chairs and sofas, very relaxed. Ample seating space but it can fill up on weekends. Free WiFi.

Excellent selection of tea as with all Yumchaa, brewed from proper loose leaf tea. Tea to take away and lovely accessories to buy too. Cute seating, be nice and share your table as its cozy in here. Off Oxford Street so not the relaxed atmosphere as the other Yumchaa, but still a haven for tea and nice cake.

Great selection of different and very tasty teas to chose from! There seems to be lots of food available too, but since I'm coeliac I didn't try. There is gluten free available but in the same area as the glutinous stuff, so it might be okay for people with intolerances? It looked really lovely! There's loads of seating and even more downstairs with big tables which would be great for meetings. There is also a toilet available downstairs, which you'll probably need after all that caffeine!

This is my favourite place for tea and cake in a relaxed atmosphere. Their focus is leaf tea, which comes in many variations on the normal black, green and red tea and in hot and cold. Can't say I've tried their coffee, but they have all the usual options. Lovely cakes and sandwiches and panini too. I keep coming back here for catch ups with friends, but also to buy their tea, which never seems to go bitter, no matter how long you brew it for.

Always friendly staff. Great selection of teas and a gluten free banana and chocolate loaf to die for! Make sure to ask for it to be toasted! They also have a blue tea that changes colour when you add lemon to it. Not everyone's cup of tea but worth trying once. Good place for 1-2-1 catch ups and, indeed, frequented by local office workers.

Great tea blends, free wifi, lovely cakes and comfortable seating (if you can get it, it fills up fast at weekends!). Not a "traditional" tea house – I probably wouldn't bring elderly relatives along, and if you're looking for thin china and silver teaspoons go somewhere else – but a great place to hang out whilst working or after shopping, and easy to find for meeting up with people. Staff are really friendly and will pick up your finished teapots / plates and even take orders from your seat if it's not too busy and you're there for a while. Difficult to choose a favourite tea blend - Midnight Grey, Adventure, Egyptian Nights and Notting Hill are all pretty good starters if you're new to Yumchaa, but the blends are all available in little pots to smell and look at, and staff don't usually mind you hanging around for a bit whilst you decide. The chocolate velvet cake is love and the music is usually pretty good and not too loud.
