James Cochran's N1 restaurant has a different concept from the sister restaurant in EC3 - it has a more informal vibe and no set menus, reaching probably to a wider audience. Food wise, the starters were delicious, special mention to rabbit glazed leg, the pigeon on stick and the chicken jerks, which probably was a bit salty but that depends on taste. The sauce on it was amazing. Mains are FlatBreads with topping, from venison, lamb including vegetarian option. They are reasonably big so after three starters and couple of FlatBreads we ended up pretty full. The flatbread itself doesn't taste that much but the topping with the sauce and some veggies on top make it really attractive. Desserts we tried the Raspberry Cranachan which was really tasty, a mix of cream, cereals and Raspberry ice-cream. Drink wise , the wines are good and ok price. They also have beers. Staff was friendly and helpful although it took a while for them to notice we were waiting for deserts. Overall I like the concept, not a big fan of FlatBreads though but I could easily see myself coming back just for the starters.

Fantastic food, the lamb shoulder was delicious, real care and skill in the cooking without being complicated or overly dressed. Staff seem to need a bit more training, didn't really have idea what the different ingredients were, bread and butter pickles were .....pickles in butter and err... not sure about the rest. But these are small things. Portions are big as well, which is nice. Really really good. Go.

I'm a big fan of James' other restaurant, so I was really pleased when I heard this place was opening up in my neighborhood. The style and menu are totally different though, with this place being a lot more casual. Small plates were really good (the rabbit leg was especially tasty). Have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of flatbreads but I did enjoy the venison and beef ones we ordered. Very filling. Not quite sure about the price point though - seemed a bit expensive for such a casual meal, especially compared to his other restaurant which is a total bargain. We did really enjoy the food though. Definitely worth a visit.

This time around I tried the crispy cauliflower and the jamaican chicken... They were delicious! The black coconut ice cream came highly recommended by the staff... And it didn't disappoint. I was just a party of one at 16.30 on a Saturday and the service was friendly, helpful and efficient. Need a bigger party to join me to share (try) other items in the menu... A couple of the flatbreads stood out and look/sound quite tasty.

The flatbreads are sensational. We had the lamb flatbread and the jerk chicken flatbread, both are worth going back for. The plates are very reasonably priced given their quality.

Good music, great food, relaxed and fun service. The flatbreads are fluffy with delicious toppings and the chicken - had dreams about that chicken!
