Absolutely fabulous Turkish Grill. Went here as Tayyabs was too busy and this place is down the same street.
So glad we did - what a find! Will definitely be going again - had our own private room too and were well attended by the staff. The food was expertly seasoned and cooked on open charcoal burners. Plenty of complimentary Turkish tea and great looking desserts. Brilliant - thanks so much for a great dinner.
Been going there for years, the food is great and staff are very attentive. Used to be my favourite lunch spot when I worked around the corner from there!

I came here maybe two years ago.
The restaurant is located in a muslim area ( whitechapel ) in front of a big mosque.
It was halal and controlled by a serious organisation ( HMC ).
The food was good and the ambiance nice.
This was my first experience with Turkish cuisine that too in a foreign land. So I tried to play safe and ordered only familiar names that too only related to chicken. During the course a British friend asked me to try other dishes. I hesitantly tried a dish called Lahmacun which was basically a lamb dish. I could not believe that it was much tastier than the dishes I had ordered. As we were a large group I on my own started trying dishes of others. I do not remember the names of all those dishes but lamb dishes were much tastier. This is not a place vegetarians.
Always had good service at Maedah Grill, they have open seatings and cubicle ones, plus they have boards for Niqabi's which really helps, the food is really nice, calm and quite place regardless how busy it is, do recommend it.
Lovely Turkish food right across East London Mosque in Whitechapel. The food is very moderately priced and absolutely tasty. The service is quick and friendly even if the place is packed. If you're in the neighbourhood give this one a try if you are lusting for a lot of meat at great prices. However, this place doesn't serve any alcohol and there's sadly no byob-concept.
Recently visited Maedah and didn't realise how good it was. Only a few short minutes from my house and I am shocked that I have never been here the mixed grill is delicious as is the minced meat pizza type thing. However one downfall is the lack of bread they provide as I loooove bread at Turkish restaurants
Lahmacun: £6.95 | So this was a Turkish pizza which consisted of minced lamb, tomatoes, onions and fresh mint. When served, it was hot which I think enhanced the flavours much more. The lahmacun was very crispy and upon biting, you got a burst of a range of flavours. Very tasty!
Mix Shawarma: £7.95 | This was my main course at Maedah Grill. I love my meat and chicken so this was right up my street. Both the lamb and chicken shawarma were hot, tender and flavoursome however, I preferred the chicken shawarma more. Foodie.007 x
I am a regular at this place and love going for Turkish at this place. You get food that's worth your money and customer service is amazing so are the people and ambience. Food portion is just about right. Placed in the heart of East London. I would always happily go back!
This is a nice little restaurant in the heart of Whitechapel. They have a lot of space which means they are great to host birthday dinners or small gatherings. The food is nice, however I do think it could be more flavoursome as at times it seems rather bland. Their portion size is good and prices are decent, although I do think including drinks it is on the slightly expensive side. Its interesting to be able to see the kitchen and everything does look very clean and tidy which is good. The staff are friendly and very helpful.
A favourite amongst Muslims who come for the halal steak. It's ok, not great, non-halal steak is far better. The Turkish dishes are pretty standard fair, good value for money.
One more time I enjoyed a nice meal in this beautiful place. I've been this time with my family, I booked a private room, I had the number 29, it's chicken cube marinated with salad and chips, the meat was lovely. My nephew had the steak "Sir Loin", it was amazingly cooked and everyone was jealous of this dish.
The waiter was very friendly and even if some mistakes happen, he did serve us with a professional manner and give us an outstanding customer service.
I will definitely go back and recommend this place if you love meat grilled served by a friendly staff.

The bread that they serve before the meal is amazing, it's reason enough for me to go back. The mixed grill and plate shawarma are my favourite dishes here.
One of the if not thee first Turkish eatery around the Whitechapel area and I have always found it reliable bar just the one below average visit.
Those who know their Turkish know that to get the best experience, those in Kingsland Road, Hackney or those in North London will give you that but Maedah is decent enough.
The menu is extensive and I have found the service nearly always excellent. Their food has always been a hit more than a miss with me let's call it 9/10.
Nearly every Turkish has a signature mixed grill and Maedah's is not really that great have had way better platters elsewhere but Maedah's mixed grill for one is quite filling and decent.
Visited this place quiet a few times. Great turkish restaurant. My favourite dish to order is the Maedah Kofte. The service is amazing. I recall an experience where I didn't like one of the dishes (Manti) and they didn't even charge me for it and let me get another dish.
I stumbled upon this place after moving to this neighbourhood a few years ago. It is funny how we happened to visit. This area has a very famous and renowned curry house, and there was an extremely long queue there so we decided to come here to eat. And since then, this place has been a regular haunt for us.
We have visited this place number of times and is such a delight each time that we keep returning. To begin with, the service is excellent. Staff is welcoming, attentive and pleasing. Coming to food, dishes are delicious and prices are completely value for money! There has never been a day we had been disappointed. Do visit!
I really like this place for a quick bite. Service is very prompt and pleasing. Staff is extremely efficient and attentive to your needs. I ordered the chicken steak with gravy, it was delectable. It was perfectly cooked as per my liking. High on flavors! I would definitely recommend this to every one.

they have a nice layout with a peculiar decoration. the main attraction would be of the view of the kitchen and grills. i have been a regular visitor from the past 4 months now. the only disappointment is that they have a limited time in which they serve tea and desserts.
It was last year when I went to London and stayed there for quite a while. This place was one place I was a regular at. This place is by far one of the best place I have been to so far. The staff members are incredibly friendly and cooperative. The service happens to be really efficient and very quick. The best part was the food they served, it was amazingly fresh and very well prepared and cooked. I will make sure that I visit this place whenever I am in London next. Strongly recommended.
I along with my whole family visited this place recently and this place has topped the chart of my top five favorite places to dine-in. I had a very good time here. It serves you with Turkish cuisines and its a bliss to be here. The Lamacun is extremely amazing. The main course meals looks very appealing and good to taste. The meat was over cooked though and floating in oil. The ambiance is very good and hygienic. The locals will have a good time here.
They serve delicious food of a Turkish descent. I had the mixed grill, which has now reduced in size, but tastes as amazing as ever before. The hummus and tabbouleh are all yummy and nice. We opted to dine in the private room, where one sits on the floor. It was a little cold, but the experience was really nice. The dessert is as good as anything. The place is also situated very accessibly and one does not miss the prayer if you pray in a mosque. We really had a nice time here.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in this city. Their kitchen is usually opened till late and i always order their mix kebab platter and cacik as starters which are always consistent in flavors and simply delicious. Waiter are amicable and attentive. They do not have an alcohol license. The restaurant has wheelchair for disabled persons.
This restaurant is located very obscurely on a busy street, and it is actually quite close to a bustling market. The aromas that one is faced with immediately upon entering are so enticing and delicious. I ordered the meze appetizers and babaganus, and found them to be the tastiest ones I have ever had. They were really fresh and amazing, and were presented with the best Turkish bread and pickles. I had the kebab dish as my main course and truly loved it. The restaurant is very conducive to a family setting, and there is no alcohol, but their milkshake is amazing. The menu has some vegetarian options also. The staff is really amiable and efficient and they give you your privacy. The prices are average and they serve fares of fresh ingredients and huge servings. This is a brilliant and authentic Thai affair, and everybody should visit.
This place proves to be one of the best Turkish joints I have ever eaten at in London. The restaurant lives up to ones expectations of a good dining mean. The service is decent and balances out the quality of food being prepared. It has now reached the top of the 'most favourite' lists!
I was a little skeptical but was surprised when i tried the food at this Turkish restaurant. The meat is full of flavors and is cooked to perfection. The portions are also generous with swift service and a lovely over all experience. I shall be back this week to try the items i could not this time.
We are regular customers to this place. With the food always being fresh and up to the mark, what makes up going back for more is the fact that this place has an essence of perfection to itself. The staff makes the entire vibe of the place very inviting.

I have worked in Turkey therefore i have experienced first hand turkey dishes. So i must say this place serves some really good and authentic Turkish cuisine. I have tried almost every dish on their menu and each one is consistent in taste and flavors. I would recommend their sarma kebab which were just delectable and also generous portions. Lamb chops were really good too. Highly recommended!
This place serves really delicious Turkish food and must say I haven't tasted better quality of Turkish cuisines elsewhere. However, I would like to point out that the service is always a bit lacking but quite understandable because the restaurant is always packed. I would recommend you to go there some time.
I have been here twice and the food is quite good here and it all mostly tastes the same. It is also slightly bland in taste. The manager however was really sweet. On recognizing us from the last time, he gave us a 10% discount. To top it all, he provided us with some free Turkish sweets and some delicious tea. The service for me was quite pleasant. In my opinion, they can work on the quality and taste of the food.
Have been a few times since it opened with family and friends. Great location being near the masjid. Food and service good to, waiters are always accomodating. Only gripe... booking cubicles...you can only book (in advance) if you have a certain number of people. There is also a charge for the booking on top of their usual service charge. Apart from that a good place to eat out in.

Maedah Grill is a pleasant Turkish place located right behind the East London Mosque. It's relatively new; I've passed it a couple of times in the past on the way to Tayyabs down the road, but I never got the chance to check it out until today, and I was suitably impressed by the experience as a whole.
Not that I'm some kind of food connoisseur, but I've never had Turkish food like this. It was good quality stuff made live and with care in the open air kitchen - this isn't the stuff you'd find in a kebab shop, that's for sure.
Service was just as good, with the waiters checking in on us in our private low tabled booth regularly to see if we were okay. The rest of the restaurant was nice too: clean, spacious and well lit. The external sinks were an indication of how important hygiene was in this place.
And the whole thing wasn't too dear either; fifteen quid per head got us more than enough starters and a healthily sized main (we stuck to water). All in all Maedah Grill is a top class joint and a definite alternative to any particular crowded places nearby.
If you are in the mood for some middle eastern food, then this is the place to come! The restaurant is easily found just off the main road coming out from aldgate east station. The environment is great too, and private rooms can be booked in advanced for special meet ups (birthdays, celebrations etc.) My personal favourite is the Iskender Kebab, for those who enjoy Turkish Food, I prefer this place over many others! If you have yet to try this type of cuisine, definitely recommend it as a good place to start! I have frequented many times and one thing I like the most is the selection of after dinner beverages. Many great smoothies and mocktails are available for those with a sweet tooth. A must visit place!
Salmon well cooked reasonable portion, rice and vegetables ok but barely any flavour. The complimentary Turkish tea, bread and olives also included was ok, tea was refreshing. It was filling. Would definitely come again to try something else.

Good experience in Maedah Grill. I went there with my family last day and they welcomed us and found us a good table which had a view to the kitchen for seeing the cheifs while working in.
My family tried "Jumbo Platter" which was really a big platter. But as the waiter suggest me T-bone steak so I tried and really it was

Overall, the food was delicious.

And the atmosphere was nice as well.

The place had great customer service and the food was amazing. I had dietary concerns but once they reassured me how the food would be prepared right for my condition I felt very reassured. The food itself was amazing and the complimentary tea was a very nice touch.
