The Gun on Well St is, without doubt, the best pub in the world. It is a hub and heart of the community and, as such, an example of the best regeneration efforts. Nice selection of beers, food is superb and reasonably priced - cod cheeks / broccoli salad is my fav - and always really great music. Above all, though, is the staff. The guvnor and his team are the friendliest, most open, welcoming bunch I have met (tolerant as well). This is what makes it. (Oh they also do the best Bloody Mary ever!)

Best boozer around. The Manager (Nick I think) has created a rather unique watering hole in Hackney others could only dream of. He's also very nice and has lovely hair.

My favourite East End boozer by far. Great staff, clientele and there's a bespectacled DJ that plays once a month who is the best that I've ever heard. He's really good looking too.

I nickname it The Vortex of Time - everything is so good there (drinks, food, music & vibe) time passes so quick, your "one drink" turns into 7 hours of lolz & a reassuring pleasant bill at the end

Incredibile roast with an asian twist! Came on a sunday to celebrate a birthday and booked the entire top floor room as we were group of 11.. The roast was incredible! It had an amazing flavour that moves slightly away from traditional flavours as it added a but of chinese taste to it. Menu changes weekly which makes it interesting to come back. Service was really attentive too. Roast prices are around 23£ per person so a bit pricey but you definitely pay for quality. Matcha tiramisu was delicious! Drinks prices are average but you get good quality in return.. Would surely recommend booking as there aren’t many tables and gets booked easily.

went for sunday roast by Ling Ling and was so yum! have never had an Asian twist on a roast and was pleasantly surprised by the ginger and garlic notes in the gravy. highlight was actually a starter, the hash browns with tofu cream and fish roe 😍 lovely service and atmosphere too

Had Sunday roast here and the food was delicious and cannot fault it. The tiramisu was especially delicious and amazing portion size. However I would not recommend booking outside for a roast unless it’s just for drinks. We were directed outside for our booking although the benches were sopping wet and it was still raining. Service started off frosty but improved as the meal went on. Would return for the delicious food but would sit inside as benches were uncomfortable and heaters temperamental.

Great Boozer. The Meltdown Cheeseburgers pop up on 19/04/2023 served up one of the best burgers I've had. Hope they become a regular fixture!

I’d give this place 6 out of 5, it’s THAT good. Checked in last night to see what condition my condition was in and was blown away by how good the music was - Jacques Dutronc?! Edgar Broughton Band?! Turns out local record purveyors Stranger Than Paradise were playing and it was outstanding. They have Ling Ling’s on the grub who are spectacular. We thought the service was impeccable - looked after by the very charismatic and charming landlord.. should be a comedian that one. We will definitely be returning, it’s such a great lil boozer, fantastic atmosphere and the quality of their fare is second to none. Marvellous. If only all pubs were as good as this one.

Loved this pub. I can't believe we hadn't been there before. We've lived in the area since March and last night was our 1st visit. At the moment they have a Korean restaurant pop up and the food was incredibly good. Every single plate was delicious. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the dishes from the menu. The pub is also very good. Low lights, red candles on the tables, excellent music, fast and very friendly staff.

Closer to a restaurant than pub for food. Very attentive service and pricey but delicious! Highly recommend the Sunday Roast.

Came here for Sunday lunch with some friends; great atmosphere, amazing selection of cocktails and the food was delicious. Only issue was we were sat outside on the terrace, which was fine temperature wise as there were good heaters but the wooden tables and benches weren’t the comfiest, which took away from the ambience a bit. Would be a great space if they got some proper chairs out there.

Had a divine sesame negroni here (wow, such flavour) and quite possibly the best cauliflower I’ve ever tasted. Not your run of the mill cocktail bar, this place is a real gem. Will be back and trying lots more nibbles and drinks!

This is one of my favourite pubs in london and I’ll tell you why - the staff are super friendly and helpful - they make delicious cocktails - the food at ling lings is unbelievably good. You wouldn’t necessarily expect it from a pub like the gun but it’s honestly some of the best ‘Asian’ food I’ve had in london - they book great djs and throw great parties It really is a jack of all trades and I’m very thankful to have this as my local.
