I was there that week every day I took photos and petitioned Westham FC to provide this icon restaurant with a free space at the new stadium because it was the move of the ground sadly that killed their business π’
The elderly ladies some who had worked there for over 60 years all looked so sad as they lost their lives... yes lives to them it was their life waiting on the tables at Nathan's with a smile right up to the last day
I made a Facebook page in their honour !
If you ask me those ladies and the owner should have received an MBE for their services to the British public!
BUT .......
I'm afraid that the UK π¬π§ is now in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party and BoJo the clown and his dad are intent on assisted suicides via lethal injection π you only have to read BoJos Dads depopulation book about culling the human race ! Wake up chaps
Our very last Pie and Mash today after over 50 years of going there. We are wishing the Nathan family and staff all the very best in the future you will be sadly missed by the community. The only place to eat the best Pie and Mash. Even though we moved out we travel from Essex to eat there.
I have recently moved to the area and heard that Nathan's is definitely worth a visit. I opted for the classic 'pie, mash and liquor' option and enjoyed the meal. I thought the pie was lovely, made with beautiful pastry and rich mince meat filing. I wasn't a fan of the 'liquor' (a pale, green liquid with parsley) and probably would go for the gravy instead in the future. Overall, it was a hearty meal and I would pop back for a pie in the future!
Their takeaway pie and mash really is the business! Unlike similar fare from other venues, you can really taste the mash before you even pour the liquor on it. Might have to stop for a sit-down next time. Good stuff!
This place has been here for longer than i can remember... The decor may be a little dated now but the quality of the meals have never changed.
I now take my son here when ever im passing through as did my grandfather with me.

Been going there longer than I can remember my parents also since they were kids and my mum is 71 this year. I Would definitely not eat pie n mash from any where else

Top traditional East End pie shop with no frills. Has stayed the same since the 50s! Love it!
