Great food and some of the quickest service we've had. The curry pot was awesome. Price extremely reasonable!

Mien Tay is a great Vietnamese restaurant located just off the Hoxton overground station. The food is great and not overpriced! I highly recommend the Spring rolls (both fresh and fried), the salt, pepper and garlic squid, as well as the rice vermicelli noodles with stir-fried chicken, chilli and lemongrass. Also, you can bring your own bottle of alcohol, which is very handy! I definitely recommend it.

Best Vietnamese in the UK by a country mile. Had a variety of starters, banh xeo was great. The chicken curry was as good as I remembered back when they had a restaurant in Wellingborough. It is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in London. Good service and full of flavour .

Mein Tay is such a small, intimate restaurant, where you can hear your food being prepared. The decor is really cool, with tables that have little scenes underneath glass. The food was incredible. We each ordered a dish but all had tastes of one another's. I opted for the Chargrilled pork and egg fried rice, which had lots of lemon grass and spices making it a taste sensation. On the table was also sweet and sour chicken, Goat (which I want to get next time I go as it was like nothing I'd tasted before) curry and beef. It all tasted brilliantly and very authentic, and I can't recommend heading here if you're ever in Shoreditch area.

It's hard to pick between all the different Vietnamese restaurants on offer on kingsland road. But this place in my opinion outshines the rest. They are great value for money and are authentic. The presentation is simple but the great food makes up for all that. Can't wait to return!

A previous visit to the Battersea branch meant I had no hesitation to pop into Mien Tay Hoxton before a going to a gig in the area with Sarah M . My vermicelli with beef chilli and lemongrass was huge for £7.50 and the taste was equally satisfying. Although it was hard to overlook the goat and galangal which is a past favourite.

They were really quick at getting us our food (we'd told them we were in a bit of a hurry) and the prices were fab - my bun salad was £6.80 only. A really good start to what I hope is just my first visit to that area for Vietnamese food.

The best Vietnamese on Kingsland Road? Surviving a meal is one of the main signs that a meal was a success. Kudos Mien Tay. But there were lots of other signs.

I love Mien Tay; I think it's the best Vietnamese in London. Now, I've only tried the ones on Kingsland Road, but I don't really think there's much competition outside this lovely pho-smelling street. There's Viet Grill and Cay Tre, which I think are excellent, but in a completely different price class. Song Que was the first Vietnamese I had arriving in London two years ago, and while good, I don't think it beats Mien Tay. I've eaten at a few others along the road, but none of them are worthy of mention. Mien Tay rocks! Go there today, bring a bottle of wine and enjoy an amazing meal! I've never had anything on the menu which I haven't loved. The kitchen is madly consistent - I practically lived here last year, often opt for the same dishes (because my favourites are beyond amazing), an

We were disappointed with Mien Tay. It has all the hallmarks of being a great place. Nice, small, friendly restaurant, being busy when others around it were empty. But sometimes looks can be deceiving. I have to say however that the food wasn't the worst I have ever eaten. I mean its Pho was nowhere as bad as that chain of the same name, then again who would serve a lukewarm broth with under cooked noodles. Utter disgrace. Once bitten, twice keep hand in wallet. So on a cold Sunday afternoon, we found ourselves sitting inside a nice warm and fairly busy Mien Tay. There was a nice vibe inside, with lots of people chatting and tucking into some nice looking food. The menu reads as it should do. Lot's of good Vietnamese staples on there, of the Vietnamese kind. Which is a blessing these days, as I keep coming across Vietnamese restaurants of the Chinese kind, or are they Chinese restaurants with a beef noodle soup on the menu. Marketing. To get things going, we ordered some Salad rolls. Y

When I go out to eat with Chris, I let him order. He's good at it. Although he normally orders enough food to feed a small army. You have to be careful about that. He gets us some squid (pictured at the beginning of this post, nice) and some spicy soft sh

Choosing a Vietnamese restaurant on Kingsland Road can be a difficult choice but Mien Tay is always a good shout. The family run restaurant is always busy which attests to the quality of their food.

I haven’t had a dish that I didn't like at Mien Tay but I would definitely recommend either the Chicken Curry Pot or the Rice Vermicelli Soup with Pork. All the food is fresh and full of flavour. Despite always being busy, service is always efficient. It’s not that expensive and it is very good value for money.

Staple to Kingsland road, reliable and swift service but not as it used to be. They've changed items on the menu so check if they still have what you used to order e.g. aubergine in garlic now comes with tofu but I asked for it plain. No more free prawn crackers at the start of the meal and prices understandably have gone up.

Nice food and good service. You can bring your own alcoholic drinks. The lady probably the owner of the restaurant is very friendly and smiling all the time. The service charge included in the bill.

Authentic Vietnamese food! The place and the dishes looked not so fancy but the taste was like mom-made food. Highly recommended by a Vietnamese!

Perfect food... Really enjoyed. A little bit pricey though but worth it for a dinner or on a night out. Huge menu so a lot to choose from; perfect for big group. :)

The restaurant decoration was a bit old but feel like we were in Vietnam. However you should not expect kindness. That makes us feel more like Vietnam. And it wasn’t hygienically perfect but it was okay due to the excellence of food! The food was great in particular steamed sea bass was top notch! Banseo also was you should have!

A group of us stumbled upon this place in Hoxston after being at an event. It looked really spacious inside so gave it a try. The food was really really delicious and very well presented. I particularly recommend the Salt & Pepper Squid. It was quite hard to get the staff's attention to order or get the bill but other than that it was great. Would return again.

The food is wonderful. The £4 a head corkage is a bit steep, but I guess that's what they all charge near there. Well worth a visit if you want some authentic Vietnamese food, the buns are fantastic.

So good! amazing place to came with friends or as a couple. Also, you can bring your own boost and drinks, so that’s amazing. The green papaya salad it’s absolutely the best! Also the pak choi was so good. Second time I came and definitely I will come back.

good service and the best selection of gluten free meals I've ever seen in my life. Bring your on booze with a small charge. There was four of us and everyone one had starter and main all diffrent and there was nothing to complain about was very tasty Came to a about £20 person and I think you'll stuggle to beat the price and the quality. Be warned the staff busy so no messing with your ording so efficiency is key. And food will be with you very quick! All in all an amazing experience!

Have been at the restaurant a few times, and is always busy. The service is good but nothing to what it used to be. We love the prawn toast and crisp vegetable rolls. Some of the dishes are difficult to understand but the staff do explain what they are, but not in good detail My partner ordered a dish and it has ended being cold noodles with hot seafood, which it wasn't the best. December 22 Back to one of our favourite places which it was busy when we arrived but after a few minutes we had a table. We have ordered few mix dishes which there were nice and especially the vegetable spring rolls which we have ordered extra. There's is an issue with communication as we ended receiving items which we never ordered and being charged for. After we have pointed the issue it was altered.

This place is brilliant! Really good menu with something for everybody on it. Makes no bones about what it does which is serve very good Vietnamese good. Service is good and the staff are friendly. You can either order their booze off the menu or bring your own with a corkage fee Real buzz about this place when it's busy!!
