Was difficult to find, walked past it 3 times but when we found it , it wasn't a disappointment. Food was oooh lala! My aunt reckoned it was one of the best Malaysian restaurants she has tried in London. Now... if you are a lady with a voluptuous front.. beware the slimline toilet area that is just about enough room for a broom stick to turn half circle. Literally huge portions .. they had ton roll me out. We'll be back though.

Malaysian restaurant tucked away in the basement on Edgware Rd. Serving the most amazing mouth watering authentic Malaysian food. All time favourite - ikan bakar - the best in town!

Had the best Nasi Kandar and Satay ever in London. I think Melur which has recently been under Pak Awie management last few weeks is going to be a rising star within London. I'll be closely watching it's progress!

Me and my wife instantly felt like we were at home and in Malaysia as soon as we went down the stairs into the main restaurant. From the outside, you don't really know what to expect but the food is delicious. I will be taking my extended family and friends there for future gatherings!

Ayam belada merah, Rendang, Ayam Bawang Putih and Tahu Telor are the best menus from this resto. Located near to Edgware Road Station, Melur has pretty big place although a bit dim. It is recommended if you want to make a quite big supper with family and friends for it has a special room for this occasion. Another best thing about this restaurant is its seasonal pineapple cake. Usually, they sell it on Iedul Fitr. So delicate!

Dates of visit - 14.02.14 and 28.03.14

Edgware Road is popular for its many Arab restaurants that all share a similar menu, walking down the street you smell a mixture of flavours from people smoking away in the cold night on Shisha. Almost hidden away along this road in a basement is the Malaysian Melur, it's very easy to miss due to its lack of a presence among its neighbours.

Anyway, I have been here twice but on my first trip didn’t really have my review cap on, but I did remember it enough to know that I liked the food. I visited it again with a very large group of over 30 people; however I dived off into 3 friends.

Melur is situated underground, so there no natural light, the décor is rather simple yet spacious, loads of seats and large tables. Nothing much to say here.

We all decided to go straight for main course and not mess about, not the easiest thing as the menu as a wide selection of appealing food, from Veggie, Fish, Chicken and Beef, dishes were also labelled spicy or non.

I opted for the Gulai Kambing, which is hot curry cooked in a rich, spicy and succulent sauce. There was a very strong fusion of flavours, with lemon grass being the over ridding taste. The lamb was very tender and the portion size was very generous. Im a an of coconut based curry's and this very green curry was really tasty and brought back memories of when I went to Malaysia.

I also tried the Beef Rendang Daging, a slow cooked beef curry in coconut gravy. The dish was mild and cooked with a balance of delicate flavours that really brought out the taste of the beef. I also tried the Ayam Maask Chill Chicken, which is what seemed like large strips off chicken cooked with loads of chill, this was a simple non curry based dish.

Service wise, well, because we came with a very large group, it took some time for us to place our order due to a lack of menus; however we didn’t have to wait too long for our food to arrive all things considered.

Food wise, this place is very good, there is a lot of choice on the menu and I like the authentic taste of the dishes I had. I haven't been to many Malaysian/Indonesian in London, Banana Tree is the only other that comes to mind in recently, so this place is going to be up there due to its inexpensive menu and good food. Each curry was coming in at around £8, the total bill was £33 inc service, no drinks.

I would definitely recommend.

This place is simply amazing. It has an authentic Malaysian restaurant setting coupled with a nice and peaceful atmosphere. The service was also very good from the moment we stepped in. We ordered the black beef with cabbage, rice, fried prawn and sambal along with a laksa chicken noodle. Each dish was PACKED full of flavours. Even the Melur special drink/mocktail which we added to the order was delicious. On top of all this, their cleanliness, hygiene, quality and freshness of food was well maintained. Will have to come back to try some other dishes we saw on the menu.

This is my favourite restaurant in all of London, it fed me regularly as a student. I’ve been obsessed with their dendeng balado since 2014, and I’m so happy that even after nearly a decade and several changes in ownership, it tastes pretty much exactly the same. I think about this dish even when I’m in Malaysia. 10/10.

Had a lovely meal with some authentic Malaysian food! The food was very well made and the staff were very friendly. It had a really cosey vibe, the same I have had in Indonesia (I know it's a different country but the food is similar). Would recommend to everybody to experience this food and culture!

Came here last year when there was promotion on buffet from this restaurant. Although I have not been here for Ala carte but I really think this restaurant has the most authentic Malaysian dishes that I can think of. Spicy! Always the best way to describe and delicious and variety of dishes! For a reasonable buffet price, this is truly good deal. Restaurant is located underground and the air can be quite stuffy and needs good ventilation. But overall I am satisfied with this and would come back again in the future.
