Fish and chips sensacional e bem servido!!! O lugar é take away, podendo comer no local..foram super atenciosos, correram pra limpar nossa mesa!! Todos muito simpáticos e Code um espetáculo!!!
The best chip shop ever. You will never beat it. Xx
George was also generous, that's how we can now get smaller portions of chips with some chicken pieces or kebab meat so anyone could afford something to eat with little money. A great forward thinking man. RIP
Such a lovely man xxx my daughter always remembers George giving her slush while we waited for our food xx
My best burger in London during a trip. Fish&chips was also tasty.
My friends from america love George's and they would buy it to take back to America with them there's no where like George's .
Nugget special is my weapon of choice! Nomm, nomm.
A true gentlemen and will be sadly missed rip George xx
George was the Goldborne, sadly missed RIP George xXx
After taking a walk on portabello market, George's is a great place to have fish & chips (seasoned with salt and vinegar). Do not miss this place if you are looking for real and delicious fish & chips.
Sheepa Miah this is where I mentioned.
Voted several years ago by Jamie Oliver as one of the best (if not the best) chip shops in London. You'll see that recommendation on the time out magazine they have on the wall, with mr Oliver in it!
Brilliant chips, they taste like little clouds with a crispy edge. Make sure to go for a regular open bag (must be open!), with salt and vinegar. If it is raining outside, still go for the open bag, the comparison between the hot chips and damp outside is quite comforting.
Best chippie!!- as a kid I'd go there with nan for chips and ribs as a treat. Still brings back memories...
My local chippie. Really good fish and chips. Almost as good as the "proper" chippies up north. Best I've had in London by miles. And you can sit down at the end of porobello before walking back to nottinghill gate.
Second best fish and chip shop in the area. The best is Costa's in Hillgate Village, behind Notting Hill Gate tube.
There are only a few places that do great chips and fish, and this restaurant can definitely be considered as one of them and quite convenient as i live locally. the portions served are more than substantial and not that expensive.
the restaurant is the favorite of the chef Jamie Oliver. the restaurant is also very well located.
I lived in London during my stay of studying abroad. Unfortunately, i didn't have a great experience and didn't expect to find anything that would have interested me on my visit here last summer. Luckily, i found this restaurant that serves the greatest fish and chips. I definitely plan on visiting again anytime i am here next.
If you are looking for a good lunch break meal then this is just the right place for you to visit. The food is delicious and it is worth every penny that you pay. I ate the chicken finger chips and relished them with my strawberry slush. I was lucky to not wait for long in any queue because I went during the week and lunch hours are generally free. Worth a try!
I have been working at Fish and chip Friday and that is the reason I have tried the menu and it really is a treat. The fish is cooked fresh and is so temptingly crispy that I enjoyed every bit of it. It is something that you do not usually get to eat at other places. The chips that are served along are better than what is served at other places. You can even call them from your work and ask them to keep your order ready whilst you drive and collect your meal. A must visit!
If you are looking for a getaway then this place might be your getaway when you want to get away. This place has an amazing vibe and a very vibrant atmosphere. The portions as compared to prices are sufficient. IF you ever plan to visit this place then I would recommend you to try their fish and chips. They are delectable. Recommended.
I am really fond of fish and chips. I always end up judging a place by how they make fish and chips. And this place serves one of the best- fish so soft and tender and cooked to perfection. One of the best that i have had so far. This is going to be a regular place for me from now on.
35 years plus going to this absolutely amazing fish n chips n Ribs place ,it is honestly one of the best take aways in London.
Food is fresh n delicious, extremely well priced n service is always with a smile.
Fantastic fish and chips. Generous portions and good prices. Keep up the good work guys!
Excellent chippy. Fish was cooked fresh for us so had to wait but that's OK as it's freshly cooked so worth the wait. Sat outside in the sunshine watching people and life go by whilst we waited.
Great fish and chips. Very friendly. At the End the best fish and chips that I had on my holidays in UK.
You are definitely guaranteed to get fresh served chips and whatever else you want to accompany your meal. Best to visit on a Friday or Saturday and be prepared to cue.
Great family run fish and chip shop be using it for years!! Food is Always on point prices are perfect and staff very friendly. Posted my skate and half chips I’d eaten some chips already. Fish can be cooked to order and mine was cooked perfectly as well as the crispy batter!! A must if you’re in the area!!
Its local so I use it relatively regularly. Great staff and very well organised. Theres a selection of fish, not just the usual cod and the kebab meat is really well marinated/seasoned.
I really can't fault it in any way. Except maybe the amount of people queuing in front of me. But that says its good.
Also a few tables and chairs outside.
Basically its outstanding and should be given a try!
Have been coming to this chippie for over 15 years right back when the original George was still around. He has definitely left it in very safe hands with his family. Lovely people, always friendly and kind. The food always hits the spot - fabulous fish, proper potato chips all freshly made and generous portions to boot. Would highly recommend every time. If it's good enough for Jamie Oliver (who rated this place very highly), then it's good enough for us!
very good food, fairly priced, some staff very polite and friendly, however the owners are very abrupt and make you feel like you must hurry up and order they are very aggressive when asking you want you would like to order and if you do not know straight away you get the rolling eyes. doesn't make you feel very welcome.
I've been going to George's for over eleven years now, always when I want to treat myself at lunchtime and I see every reason to continue with my tradition. The lovely owners are generous and kind and the food is always good. I especially like the Burger Meal with their wonderful chips, as well as chips and salad in pitta bread as a great veggie option. I cannot recommend Georges highly enough.
My favourite past time and still serving up quality today. Don't know why more people don't go to a real fish and chip shop for fish and chips, like this one
Generous and friendly staff. We got a huge portion because we couldn’t afford a second plate. Taste was also amazing.
Lovely guys and amazing Ribs.... A very well kept secret. Cods always freshly cooked by a wizard and is crispy and light. Lovely bunch of guys doing great work 👍👍👍 Efxaristo!
Amazingly consistent fish and chip shop with a wide selection of takeaway food to choose from. Staff are jovial and friendly. I've been visiting for over 30 years. George's is part of the Ladbroke Grove make up and the go to take away. I cannot fault them and wish I had a local fish and chip shop like this. They di close early though. Keep up the great work!
This place is hit and miss with the chips. But they still have the best ribs and fish!
Local and the small cod was very tasty.
