“A sensory experience with authentic Thai cuisine” it says on the Thai Square restaurants website, “best Thai in London” so I was looking forward to sampling it. The Putney Bridge branch is within an unusual building whose exterior looks like a ship with metal beams and tall windows with its prow looking on to the bridge has won several architectural awards.
It was the last restaurant I visited in London, and it lived up to my expectations. A wonderful ambience next to river Thames, authentic Thai food. Enjoyed every bit of it.
Yes, price is a bit too high, but the food and service is totally worth it.
I had heard a lot of good reviews so we decided to visit for a family dinner, as a group of seven. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The layout and appearance of the place was very beautiful, with a great view of the river. I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants, so was expecting big things from Thai Square. The food was good, pleasant and filling, but not amazing- I have eaten better Thai meals. I don't think the quality of the food lives up to the price, as it is quite expensive and the service charge was quite large. It was all presented beautifully, but it didn't really have any of the amazing fragrant tastes I have experienced with Thai food before. The drinks are very good. A lovely evening, but probably won't revisit.
The interior of this restaurant is amazing and you get to see a beautiful view of Thames outside the restaurant. The food is delicious like other branches of this restaurant in London. Overall a great place with friendly staff and tasty food, will recommend to others.
It is moderate Thai fare, restaurant designed to get numbers through the door. Fair enough, dishes are explained simply and it is a good feed. What sets Thai Square out from others is the array of drinks on offer and the fact it turns into a nightclub in the evenings!! Fear not, the food might be only 'ok' but enter Thai Square at 6pm and you may find yourself still dancing the night away 8 hours later.
Took my mom here for her birthday........the food was delicious, excellent service and the ambience was amazing. We are sure to visit again.
Excellent food , great atmosphere, and good 👍 service.
We will definitely be back soon
Really had a nice experience here, service and food were on point especially during the day when it is quite. Staff were very nice and polite. I would come here again just for the food even if it is an hours drive. Love the decor and the view over Putney Pier.
Really tasty meals for all 8 of us! Lovely river views.
We visited the lovely Thai Square restaurant at Putney Bridge, which is situated by the River Thames. We had a very enjoyable meal and were served by some very pleasant waiters. The meal kicked of with a Gin Fizz cocktail which was very nice and refreshing, and some Chang Beer. We had an assortment of starters comprising Steamed Dumplings with a sweet dipping sauce, Deep Fried Squid, Soft Shell Crab and a Papaya Salad - very nice. For our mains we had the amazing Chu Chu Prawns, Prawn Pad Thai, Red Curry with Prawns and Jasmine Rice - all very nice. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and the views of the river were nice. Recommended 😀.
I ate here for my birthday last year and I was not disappointed. Make sure you choose the seat by the window. The lighting feels very cozy and the river opposite the restaurant. You have a bar downstairs if you choose to spend that extra time with friends. The food is also nice , a little bit pricy but not exaggerated. I loved the coconut ice cream and sticky rice.
Pretty good food and very nice presentation. but pricey in term of drink. Nice river view but the day I went there was some work going on on the river so the view got blocked... there was this one dish that I am not happy about which is the grill prawn. £10 for a single grilled prawn... urg.
We all had starters, main course meals, rice, noodles and dessert. We only drank water but even still the bill was will priced. The food tasted good and I can see that in dinner the views would be great on to the river.
The best Thai food that I've had in a very long while. A little expensive but so worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed!
Fantastic place. Always so good to be there. My favourite Thai restaurant. Wonderful staff, so friendly and always smiling.
Thanks so much to Namwaan, she looked after us very well.
New Neil is the perfect bartender, he makes perfect cocktails.
Strongly recommend
The location is great. With view of the river the bridge and the park across the river. The decorations within the restaurant is nice and very clean. A lovely welcome as you enter. Great service by polite and friendly staffs. The food was excellent.
Really lovely staff and great vegan options 😊 pretty authentic for a larger chain - highly recommended the papaya salad 🥗 will be sure to visit again!
Really good service
Really lovely venue.. (I've been here a few times before)
On the pricier side but food was amazing nonetheless.. there is nothing I didn't like!
We had 3 courses, stuck which soft drinks and paid about £65 per head.
It was pretty obvious we over stayed our welcome but they didn't say anything as it wasn't busy anyway.
Would recommend.
