Reviews The Dead Dolls House

I have been to The Dead Dolls House twice now, both times for the bottomless wings that they feature on Wednesday. There are five different flavours offered, four of which are within my top ten ranking of best wings. This place had me pushing my personal best for highest number of wings consumed in one sitting, and I will definitely be returning regularly for the buffalo wings alone.

Writing this review after Stuffing myself with their Sunday Brunch.

The place looks stunning and I still have no clue why it is called a dead dolls house, it's a particularly creepy name for this pretty restaurant.

We choose the bottomless brunch because why not ?
There's a choice of either mimosas or Bloody Mary for £15 and I give a thumbs up to both ( actually extra points to the Bloody Mary which they happily garnish each time )

Our group of 7 ordered pretty much everything off the Sunday brunch menu choices and my favourites were the shakshuka and the most gorgeous American pancakes smothered with toffee syrup.

The only thing that wasn't the most impressive here was the service. My vegetarian ( or should I say eggetarian) friend got her shakshuka with chorizo pieces and our drinks took a lot of time to be refilled and also some initial glitches and confusions regarding our reservations.

Why should you go. ? - the Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside pancakes with the toffee sauce, bottomless brunch cocktails and the stunning decor.

The damages per person with the bottomless cocktail combination was around £28.

Keep gobbling xx

It's been ages since I've had a proper bottomless brunch, and what a deal!  For £15, we had multiple bloody Mary's and pitches of Mimosa's delivered (before even asking!) in an absolutely adorable setting.  I sometimes find it tough to get a great Bloody in London, but these guys did not...

Note this is part of a longer "12 hours in the life of Matt The List" post, so you may want to check the full post on the blog for some context, or at least check out Sutton & Sons fish & chips where we were immediately beforehand...

"7.15pm - Meet Islington local Cath outside The Dolls House on Upper Street, the latest hand-drawn hangout from Adam Towner and Katy Gray Rosewarne, set over three floors that used to belong to House of Wolf. We head through the ground floor Parlour, up to the first floor Library and Drawing Room for Negronis, Old Fashioneds and Espresso Martinis. Antica Formula is greatly appreciated.

8pm - The house starts to fill up with familiar faces. We check out the top floor Ballroom which starts the evening as a dining room before becoming a private members bar. Membership seems achievable - just need to bring them some premium booze from their wishlist. I've got some Tesco's own brand gin knocking around somewhere - that should do it. Otherwise it's £5 after 10pm for me. A nice fellow comes round with an inadequate number of steak canapés - he's disappointed with himself.

10pm - Ground floor Parlour is looking a bit busy. Chap behind the bar has definitely served me in three different Dead Dolls Club establishments already. I imagine I shall be seeing him in Peckham - opening on 1st April apparently. We retreat to The Library, our preferred candlelit cosy. Ceiling is leaking - quite endearing. Stripy red & black shirt bartender needs to pass on secret of stirring drinks quietly to stripy black & white shirt bartender. This is a Library! Steak canapé guy has seriously upped his game by the way.

11pm - Kansas Smittys are In The (Dolls) House! Swing music ensues, occasionally in key with a fire alarm. Giacomo asks the fire alarm to stop playing over their solos. Steak canapé guy has switched over to miniature rhubarb crumbles - less interested.

2am - IT'S 2AM! What?! Oh dear. Officially Mum The List's birthday. Call her now? Probably not, it can wait. Could get Kansas Smittys to play "Happy Birthday" though? No. N19 bus is here; goes all the way home - ideal. Time for a last go at 2 Cars and some decisive photo editing. Should be a nice photo of a Negroni in there somewhere, I took enough of them. OK, I seem to have taken a video of a Negroni too. The wall is moving isn't it?

3am - Nap The List. Big day tomorrow.

A strange place with a good vibe and good drinks. Me and a friend came first time with an unlimited buns deal. The portions are generous and most flavours were really nice. Very surprised how good the tofu was. Chicken was ok. Staff are friendly and place is mostly comfy. Good music and decor. Thumbs up to visit if you are nearby :)

I recently threw my wife a baby shower in the drawing room and it went really well. Emily was really helpful during planning, and everything was prepared as discussed before. The bartender we had dedicated to the room was a star. She was super helpful and readily avalable to take orders. The food was amazing, we mostly enjoyed the chicken and waffles. Prices are reasonable and location is convenient as well. Parking was available down the road, and street parking on the side roads after 1:30pm. Will return just for the food!

Went in for Bottomless Brunch and it was well worth it, you get small plates of food from a select menu along with bottomless Bloody Marys or Mimosas. We had good service for right away but it was not busy, the chicken and waffles was tasty and my husband commented on how well everything was cooked. The last 30 min our service was lacking but I think they were doing a shift change as our server changed but they gladly gave us another round of mimosas and let us stay around while our meal settled. We heard some not so nice stories about their service but I have to say our experience was really good and we will go back.

A very interesting place, with a bit of a dark decor. It is kinda unique! That particular day we were with a friend in a place near by, we had some horrible cocktails and we were quite disappointed. And then we thought that this place looked interested, and we went in. We were a bit sceptical... But then we ordered mojito and this amazing dead rum punch (photo is added). The bartender is AMAZING, he was so focused, so perfectionist. He was not just making drinks, he was making art! He was adding different drops of different liquids, those are not your typical cocktails, those are next level! I am amazed! I am gonna go back just to watch him! Really it is worth to go only for the cocktails! It's an experience! I have told about that place to all my friends and acquaintances! Just go and you will love it! Try the dead rum punch!

Went for the £30 bottomless brunch. Really good value for money and the staff were kind and attentive when it came to refilling our drinks. Definitely got our money’s worth 👌🏼

We had christmas party there. It's a great place, really nice staff, but not a great selection of beer. We were at the top floor.

Had a great time here. Ordered the waffle burger expecting something novel only to be brought the love of my life. The group on the table next to me ordered some sort of salad bowl that was also quite eye-catching.Also had a couple of drinks and would recommend the vodka espresso martini or the passion fruit cooler. All in all a great spot, with friendly staff and delicious food. I had mentioned that it would be great to have a side salad option and was told the menu may change soon so I'd recommend visiting before and after the menu change to not miss this dining experience.

We hosted our engagement party here in The Library and everything was perfect. The room was the perfect size for our drinks and our bartender Nadine was excellent! She was very personable, made great drinks and nothing was too much of an ask. Emily was so helpful with the entire booking process from start to finish. We had great communication from her throughout. The door staff were also great, they were friendly and we had no issues at all with our guests getting in. Would definitely recommend this space for a private event!

I came to The Dead Dolls House with 11 friends, and I'm more than impressed. We were seated straight away, our drinks arrived promptly and service was great. Staff were considerate and friendly and everyone enjoyed their Sunday roast. Compliments to the chef! Will definitely return. I highly reccomend this trendy restaurant and bar to students like myself looking for a fun/chill evening out.

We hired the Ballroom pretty last minute for our office's summer party. Nadine was great at helping me organise it and explaining everything to me. They were very flexible with our various dietary requirements and also with how we paid for the event, they were able to adjust to suit our processes which meant that we were actually able to go ahead with the event. I had been worried the food might not be enough for everyone but it definitely was, everybody also thought the food was delicious. The staff on the night were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure our night went well and everyone had fun and this was definitely noticed and appreciated amongst staff. Everybody said they had an amazing time and they loved the venue and food, I can't recommend this venue enough.

I thought best to write a review as we almost didn't go here because it has quite mixed reviews. We did the bottomless brunch for £20pp and it was definitely good value for money. Quick, polite contact via email with the restaurant whilst booking, friendly staff, cool decor inside. The offer meant you could pick one main and a side and one bottomless cocktail for £20. I saw past reviews saying the food was average - the food is actually really good. The chicken and waffles was amazing as well as the fish burger; I got two patties of fish in a bun when they could easily give me one. Mushy peas were terrible however but tartar sauce was good. Almost had a hiccup at the end when we started to be ignored when we were half an hour before our 2 hours were up, and our glasses were clearly empty. My friend went up to the bar as we had been waiting 10 mins and the waiter said 'I'll just check'...I'll just check what exactly..we then caught another waiter who gave us not one but two more bottles of mimosa and we were allowed to stay after our 2 hours, so he saved it! Would recommend!
