Four Hundred Rabbits is a South London group of pizzerias with locations in Crystal Palace and Nunhead. The group specialises in sourdough pizzas baked in wood-fired ovens and served alongside (a rather South London centric list) of craft beers. I dropped by the Nunhead branch for lunch last week and was pleased with what I got to sample: a tried and true margherita (San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, basil and olive oil, £7.25) that I’d be more than happy to have again and a limited edition pizza for November featuring smoked pork bell, kimchi, roasted pineapple, smoked mozzarella and crème fraîche (£9.75) that was well worth crossing the river for me to taste.

Went with a friend and they had a great selection of vegetarian options. We went the Rhubard and the English Asparagus. They were both served hot and were delicious. The English Asparagus was my favourite. The waitress was really friendly and gave great customer service. I would definitely go back, especially during happy hour :)

Simple, short but interesting menu and really great pizzas. 5-8 pizzas and 2 Christmas specials plus a really great beer selection. Didn’t have a booking but seated us fine. The homemade pickles were a real standout! Really friendly staff as well

Absolutely delicious pizza. Tasty toppings on a great base. We have ordered a few times now to a local pub and it always arrives piping hot. Our favourites are the rhubarb one and the anchovy garlic bread. The tuna special needs to become a regular too!!!

Amazing place with really food pizzas. The variety is great and ingredients are delicious. We tried 5 pizzas (chorizo, beef, cheesy, margarita and anchovies) all amazing but I'm a big fan of cheese so cheesy was out of this world for me :-). Customer services is fantastic, well done guys keep it up. We will come back for more:)

Excellent sourdough pizzas with inventive toppings. Offers a couple of salad options and some snacks/starters. Half priced and sized pizzas available for children. Good, mostly local, beer selection. Scandinavian styled interior. Takeaway available. Service was pretty decent and will return.

This was a very tasty pizza although everything seems to be a little bit smaller than it should be. The beer, inexplicably comes in 2/3 pints (without costing 2/3 of the price) and the pizzas lack any serious girth. But then I should probably start eating a bit less. The decor is very lovely too so you can enjoy your micromeal in trendy splendor!

Well priced pizzas and good selection of drinks. Who can argue with a negroni at £4!! it might have just been our pizza, but we found the beef to be very watery and the pizza overall not full of flavour which was a shame. The chilli oil was a great addition though.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I am addicted to the simple pleasure of their margarita. Each component is just perfect, and perfectly cooked in the wood fired oven. I am so lucky to have this as my local pizza joint.

It was a cold Tuesday night during lockdown and I purchased 2 pizzas and some garlic bread, believing this would get me close to the hallowed 400. Unfortunately, when the boxes arrived, I was disappointed to find that upon counting, there appeared to be only 44 rabbits on my pizzas. I was outraged. I immediately phoned the restaurant to complain but whilst I was on hold, I found that I had not only opened the boxes, making them difficult to return, but I had devoured all the delicious pizzas. I hung up, indignant, but intensely satisfied. The pizzas were crispy, with just the right amount of crunch in the dough and delicious toppings. Very yummy. I recommend.

Great unconventional toppings, which while not always traditional do work really well! Highly recommend this to any pizza lovers!

In an increasingly competitive pizza landscape finding a new champion of the dough is difficult. But Four Hundred Rabbits has staked an impressive claim. As hip as you like, with 80's inspired deco expressed with contemporary ease is a backdrop to simply delicious pizza. The courgette pizza is an immediate classic. A must for Nunhead residents, and worth a pilgrimage for everyone else.

We arrived 10minutes before closing times and were warmly welcomed (with the kids!) The rhubarb pizza is amazing, very nice dough and loved the combination of ingredients. Probably the best pizza in the area 👌 I recommend you try the craft beer too! Staff was super friendly and helpful, we will visit again!

In the words of my 11 year old son “it was the best pizza I’ve ever tasted” (and trust me we have eaten at a lot of trendy pizzeria’s) the pizza base was thin and light and so so tasty the toppings were delicious and generous, the prices were very reasonable and the staff were super friendly!! They even over heard it was my sons birthday and gave us a complimentary ice cream each, which may I add was delicious and tasted home made!! We will definitely be back for more!!

So-so pizza saved by the inventive toppings on offer. If I were going solely off quality of the pizza, I wouldn't put this place up there, but you can't hate a restaurant fun enough to sell a rhubarb-topped pizza, and the overall vibe of the place is nice.
