I’ve been under the false illusion that Henan is famous for its fish – a falsehood propagated by Fen’s family, that despite living in the centre of the region insist on serving me seafood from their home province of Fujian. It’s with regret then that I’ve never really tried the light, seasonal cuisine Henan is famed for – which is just as good an excuse as ever to check out Chang’s Noodle.
Chang's epitomises cheap and cheerful: it's all about the food and it is great, so ambience doesn't really factor. Fantastic variety of Chinese dishes and noodles to die for, all for a very reasonable price.
The place offers delicious Chinese cuisine and is one of my favorites. The food here is absolutely delicious and the menu has an extensive range of dishes to choose from. The place is a bit crowded and usually packed with Chinese people. I would definitely recommend this place and return for a great meal.
Initially this restaurant was not really located in a very nice area which clearly affected its clientele and performance but now that this place has moved to a better area, there is a great hike in the performance. They serve amazing food, authenticity of the taste is maintained. The staff members are well trained and very well coordinated. I would definitely recommend this place.
This place offers excellent value for money. The service is impeccable and the food tastes even better. Although there is nothing really great about this restaurant, I love the food at this place, and especially prefer their noodles. I had their famous noodles with beef brisket and I have to say, I was very impressed.
I have been a resident of Taiwan for a long time, and since then I have regularly visited the Asia. I have become an ardent admirer of their cuisine and love the food. This place has the most authentic selection of Chinese cuisine and prepare it perfectly. The prices are very reasonable, and the tastes are genuine. I especially like the platter of sweet bean and other things. The tofu dishes are also nice and yummy. The service is a little low on quality, but the atmosphere are food make up for it.
With maximum people dining in this place ordering chinese dishes, this place definitely had to be a great Chinese restaurant. I had never used chopsticks ever in my entire life until the day I dined here. The food was brilliant and the ambiance of this place was very energetic and cheerful. The service is good and very efficient. Great experience over all. Recommended.
We figured out that a Chinese restaurant filled with Chinese people has to be good, so me and my friend decided to visit this place while passing by a couple of days before. This was by far the best Chinese food that we've ever had and the prices were pretty reasonable as well. The staff was very attentive and helped us to decide what to order. One of the dishes that I loved was their Wood ear mushrooms.
The menu of this place will remind you of China, There are a lot of Chinese dishes, which are traditional. The noodles were very attractive. I have been here 3-4 times and according to me the food is okay and same goes to the service.
IF you are planning to go here be prepared because they do not accept card.
Although the restaurant is not situated in the best of places, the food here is marvelous. The dishes with noodles are very authentic in their taste. In my opinion the food here is great value, for its money. The service here is excellent and the staff very helpful. They were rather nice to people like us too, who were not Chinese.
Wanted to try their new offerings that was recently introduced and they did not fail to impress us yet again. The dumplings and lamb noodle soup were our top picks, though I am sure if we had ordered more we would have loved those dishes too!
I think this is the place where everyone must go to have amazing northern Chinese noodles in this area. I had walked by this place quite a few times and finally decided to go here last weekend. The ambiance is not very elegant, but you must go there only for the food which is the highlight. I had the dry noodle with gravy which is absolutely delightful. The other dishes also tasted almost similar to the ones offered in China. Amazing place for authentic Chinese. A must visit.
We recently went there and had to wait for about 10 minutes before finding a table. I had noodles along with lamb broth. The noodles were quite impressive and the meat was also of very good quality. The sauces served complimented the meal pretty well. We also had pork which was very good. It was perfectly prepared and had the flavours that one can really hope for.
This place is my favourite restaurant to satisfy my cravings for Chinese cuisine. Their specialty is northern Chinese, and it is truly the most genuine and authentic Chinese restaurant that is there in this city. I especially recommend the soup served here. It tastes amazing, and is full of rich creaminess.
Food standard is getting worse unfortunately since last time I visited them. I went there a few months ago and I can tell all those dishes have gone down sides for some reasons. Especially those two noodles we ordered the taste just not quite right. I don't think they get a pass for authentic north-eatern China cuisines.
Not a bad Chinese restaurant. Serve Chinese dishes. I order fried noodle, as usual, it taste like any good noodle serve by Chinese restuarant. Service was quick and staff are helpful.
Really great noodle quality, range of options. Many spices dishes as well. Service was okay, not the most welcoming but agreeable. Overall pretty good if you come just for the good food.
The BEST Chinese hand-made noodles ever !
I can't care about the average service and okay environment anymore 🤪
Food is really authentic and yummy. My favorite is the lamb skewers.
Tried this last weekend mainly because they had "guo bao rou" which is essentially dry fried sweet and sour pork on the menu - which I'm a fan of but quite rare!
Unfortunately, the one here had lots of sweet but not so much sour. The pork itself and batter was good though so it wasn't all bad.
We also had the hot and sour fish soup with pickled mustard green which was delicious!
The green beans and the 'ants climbing a tree' were pretty average - but sufficient to fill our bellies!
The pork bun was a bit of a disappointment however - buns were crispy but the pork filling was lacking flavour.
Prices are reasonable though and service was also pretty decent (for a Chinese restaurant!).
The exterior of the restaurant doesn’t match my good impression about the restaurant. I first thought that it won’t be a good restaurant and compared to another Chinese restaurant just across the street, it was very quiet. But I did enjoy food there which I think was authentic and thanks to the not-too-busy environment, the food came very quick.
Some people might not like how waiters behave, but I think this is what it is in China, so I accept it and I wouldn’t say they were rude. They were maybe a bit more brutal but that’s it.
I would love to come back, it definitely meets how much you pay which is pretty reasonable.
Huge menu in the evening. Ordered spicy cold noodles and beef soup. And tea - a huge pot of tea! The cold noodles were delicious, the beef soup a little bland, but good. Will definitely come here again and work my way through the menu.
We went Chang’s noodles last weekend as my Asian housemate has recommended a few times. To be honest, I am quite impressed with the experience. Their succulent noodle dishes are made with fresh ingredients, the miso/soya based paste gives an authentic flavour. Besides, their price range is reasonable. If you are a foodie like me and tempted to try Chinese noodles, I’d recommend to have a go. It’s better than those ones in China Town from my opinion.
Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Bloomsbury, close to the British Museum. This joint was recommended by Chinese friends for their Henan lamb noodle soup -- chewy homemade noodles boiled in a lamb soup. We complemented this with some Wuhan dried noodles and a stir fried tofu dish with yummy wood ears.
Clean and spacious interior, authentic Sichuan flavours and friendly staff.
Service is good, food is delicious and lots of Chinese people around, which I assumed is a affirmed.
We ordered 2 appetizer and 1 sour spicy fish, the fish soup is so sweet and topping with garlic oil is unbeatable. We can’t finished it since we have 2 people, it cost us a reasonable price £21 with this good quality. Defo come back and recommend!
I was searching for places to eat around Holborn area and this place popped up. I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel compelled as the food was absolutely delicious. The 水煮鱼 may be the best fish I’ve ever had in London! I will definitely bring my friends next time.
We just stopped here spontaneously while on our way to another restaurant for dinner. That turns out to have been a good decision. Although the ambience is nothing special, the menu selections are plentiful and the dishes are deliciously spicy. We had enough left over for a tasty lunch the next day.
Extremely satisfying dishes with everything I ordered, from noodles to soups. They ask for a mandatory 10% service fee for almost everything, with exception of their lunch deal. Services can experience long delays when busy. Charging plugs for some tables.
