Excellent food and service. A great addition to St James's life. The menu is short and French, the wine list is long, interesting and well priced. The service is brisk and friendly. A lovely local restaurant.

Last week we had a rather belated "Sam Lane Photography Christmas Party" and thankfully chose a warm, dry night to sit outside in the secluded courtyard terrace. We enjoyed some fabulous dishes (starters: scallops, soufflé, foie gras; mains: rib of beef and steak); paired with some amazing wines. And we finished with some delicious desserts - pear tart to share, crême brûlé... A very, very nice evening indeed!

Absolutely amazing lunch, food was delicious and Richard made us cry with laughter all throughout. Free champagne on the house was a fantastic ending to a lovely afternoon.

Absolutely hands down the best French cuisine I've had! If you're looking for a top tier place that won't empty your wallet this little gem will wow anyone you bring! The staff was phenomenal, knowledgeable and fun. They really brought the whole experience together. The restaurant is beautiful, but doesn't make you feel intimidated by how fancy it is, I really appreciated that aspect. Top notch wine selection too, 11/10 would go again.

For those not in the know one would simply pass by Saint Jacques, unfortunately mistaking it for another overpriced central London sub-par restaurant… Fortunately we took the plunge and we’re more than happy with the what was provided. The veal chop and apricot tarte tatin were enough to keep us going back for more. Richard (proprietor) was simply charming!

Best French restaurant in London! A hidden gem in the heart of the West End. Amazing food severed in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are attentive and fun and the proprietor Richard makes you feel welcome and at ease. Definitely can’t wait to return! 🍷(The court yard is the best place to spend a long lunch)

A must stop for good food and great service. The food was exceptional. The wine was exquisite and the desert vanilla soufflé was outstanding. Really enjoyed being able to taste a variety of items for a reasonable cost and the staff and owner were attentive and professional. Great experience and would return and recommend.

Outstanding meal. Delicious true French gastronomie. Impeccable service where you can take your time to enjoy your food not being rushed and can have the pleasure of seeing Crêpes Suzette made in front of you! A restaurant where you feel at ease and have an excellent time. Not forgetting to mention the very nice wine menu.

I recommend it 100%! I've been coming with my friends several times now, great service, excellent food and the "So Frenchy" atmosphere, we love in London! The Maitre des lieux is super professional and warm! What a pleasure to share a moment in his restaurant! See you soon!

Really pleasant bistro at the bottom of St James. Really well prepared French cuisine with a good wine list. This has become a regular for us and since there's always something new on the menu it keeps it interesting. The mid-week lunchtime menu always has something tasty to try.

Simply the best!... as a famous singer once shouted. I've had lunch in this beautiful restaurant four times over the last 6 months and every time it has been superb, not only in the quality of food, but the wonderful service too; to say nothing of the calming ambience and comfortable and spacious seating (unfortunately, a rarity in restaurants these days) Set lunch unbelievably good value in such salubrious surroundings; but yesterday my 85-year-old dad (I'm his 61 year-old young lad) treated to me to a la carte, and even that was very reasonably priced, according to him. The service, including from the hard-working owner Richard, is the perfect combination of being relaxed, friendly and accommodating, but also highly professional. I wonder how many other posh restaurants in Mayfair or anywhere else in central London, for that matter, has an owner working as head waiter, taking your orders and even hanging up your coat. That's almost certainly why this place is so good Clientele very well -heeled... not like wot I am But no one will be made to feel out of place here. Best restaurant in town, honestly

We visited the restaurant years ago under old management and the food was not special. We decided to give this place another go after reading many great reviews. The menu was great and the fish dishes came out amazing. The host had a good sense of humour and made the evening fun for us. The atmosphere was casual for the restaurant and I think they could do a lot better with new decor and furniture to give the vibe a more "Mayfair" feel.

Really tremendous lunch and genuinely lovely experience with all the staff and the owner who is a highly amusing character. The steak tartare is extremely good, even rather unique (and I’ve eaten a LOT of steak tartare over the years), and the crêpe Suzette is worth at least a week’s starvation. To be honest I doubt there is a bad choice on the whole menu, which satisfies all the criteria of a really top French restaurant. Very good wine list. So good to come to a restaurant where you can tell that everyone enjoys working there.

I can not say enough good things about this place. Everything on the menu is solid. Richard, the owner, is on-site everyday. Also great vfm in St. James’s.

A restaurant or a private club? Fantastic! I have been to this restaurant three times now. I am now treated as if I was part of the family. And family it is! You need to see the GM welcoming is regulars (I guess 80% of the people?!?!). It looks and sounds like a private club! The food is impeccable, truly French and the menu changes regularly. I had bone marrow followed by wild mushrooms and poached egg with creamy sauce and a tarte Tatin which was sublime!!! The wine list is great, I was recommended a cheaper wine than the one I chose because it was a better match for my food... and it was! I understand why people come back with such a service! I guess I will be back soon! Why going elsewhere?
