A very special, welcoming and enduring bar in the midst of all the gentrifying of every side street and corner of London. The beer is good, the staff are lovely, and the occasional live music and performances that you might stumble across and maybe even trip over when you’re first arriving, perhaps sober will be an absolute treat!
Perfect little hidden gem, great pub with very welcoming staff and great atmosphere
One of the nicest pubs I've been into in a while, bit like a Camden pub in 1986 with a whole bunch of locasl, weirdos, extroverts, introverts, perverts and a great DJ!
Simply a bloody lovely boozer. Great beer and we got a plate of cheese and crackers.
This is, without doubt, the best pub in London. Fact. X
Superb pub, great combination of staff, decor, beer and regulars.
This is the nicest pub in London. That's all I have to say.
Great Time spent meeting new people, Warm and welcoming.
Un bar bien londinense con una decoración hermosa y muy buena onda!!! Gracias Ben por el espacio para poder mostrar mi música!!!
Hands down, best pub I have ever been to
Great pub, great beer Looking forward to my next visit.
So many fantastic people in one place. Long live The King!
Hey I love it here! Come enjoy my show from Japan tomorrow July 17th 19:30 - 22:00! :)
A proper English boozer with great atmosphere, great staff, decent selection of beers and ales. They're so cool here, allowing dogs, takeaway food... and if you can handle it the quiz night will get your melons twisted in a great way. Simon, Ayub and the gang will make you feel right at home. Be warned, this is not a run of the mill chain pub... Its my fave place, and for good reason.
Beautiful local pub for a pint. We stumbled across the King Charles on our way back to King’s Cross, and it’s absolutely perfect for a pint at any time of day. Friendly to tourists and almost stereotypical in what a classic pub should look like. Try the speciality cider!
Really glad I was taken to this pub from the 1920s with a wealth of history just of the normal tourest route by my wife and son, It has a wormth, a character an atmosphere all of its own, it is quirky. Really enjoyed a few pints
Lovely little pub with rustic decor and relaxed vibe. Superb reasonably priced selection of traditional ales. We had the Old Skool bitter and Black Gold dark ale from the Kent Brewery which were malty and highly quaffable. I could happily stay there all night and the jukebox was a happy nostalgia feast
Fantastic pub with original wood panelled interior, fine ales and friendly bar staff. A proper boozer!
We came across this pub in the Islington district on our way back from the London Canal Museum. Good ales (Jamboree was a good choice, it also have an "exclusive" cider), good vibes (it plays ska, dub, rock and other good stuff) in a very friendly atmosphere (we sat near the - real - fireplace). We had the chance to chat with lovely chaps, we even got a round of drinks from them. We also learned that it almost closed a while ago and this is now a locally owned public house, so support them by paying a visit (and a drink or two).
An amazing pub with a wonderful atmosphere tucked a way within the hustle and bustle of the King's Cross neighbour. Perfect for those who want a traditional pub that is a bit quirky and not loking like a chain. The selection of guest beers is truly what this place is about, run by a great Landlord and his team!
I like this place. It’s always had a good vibe. For the last ten years or so it’s been community run, and I’m not sure it’s made any difference - which is a good thing. Good fun, good music, a nice mix of people and a good pint of Guinness (if you drink it quickly). Also, the welcome you getting a takeaway.
We were at this pub a year ago. We had such a great time, we went back 2 more times while we were in London. Simon, our wonderful bartender was delightful. Enjoyed talking to many people in the pub who seemed to be regular patrons (lucky them!) We are on our way back today,, and hope to be enjoying The King Charles I at some point Sunday afternoon.
Undoubtedly the best pub that I visited on a recent trip to London.
Small but interesting range of ales on tap including a well kept and excellent East London Foundation.
This is undoubtedly a proper pub and with a proper landlord rather than a manager.
Has a free jukebox which is of the CD type variety rather than one of those internet thingys.
Live music on occasion.
No airs and graces about this place and I mean that as a compliment.
