Proper old style picture house. Big screening room, plenty of leg space and comfy chairs. Also serve a great local beer from the Brixton brewery in the bar. Recommended. Xxx

A great venue, central to the vibe of Brixton. Management should be proud of their staff who help create this - and pay them the living wage. Suspension of staff due to demonstrations is just risking your reputation, and means I cannot recommend the venue to visitors

Back for the first time in over 30 years! Great to see the old place has kept its charm and character, with the added bonus of a couple of bars and lots of screens! Loved the reclining seats!

We took our (nearly) 3 year daughter here yesterday to watch Bing at the morning toddler time session at 11. It's her favourite programme, as it is many toddler's so I was so pleased when I found that they were showing it! (I found out about it on the Hoop app, an absolute must download for all parents) and for £3.50 a child and adults free you can't find better. The cinema itself is very, very clean and the staff are very friendly, both things I think are important in any retailer or customer service environment, and with cinemas I think it's rare to find good customer service and clean toilets nowadays! The staff were giving out a free little book and activity pack to the kiddies who were coming to watch the show. They were very friendly to us and to our daughter and very welcoming. Would highly recommend this cinema. Also in a good location and very close to the tube station. Robyn

Apart from its being iconic the Ritzy is fun. there's an instant buzz of excitement as you go in, it looks interesting and the staff are lovely. Of course the Bowie movie was fab too.

This place is a godsend. They show movies that are not generally out for everyone or everyone's taste; however, the service of the people that work and come here, and the general feel of the place, has a perfect vibe. It's something I really can't explain. It's more something you can feel. Come and find out.

The Ritzy cinema has been a part of our community since forever. More importantly the building has seen many changes to the culture, and businesses that come and go. It was remarkable to see a Ritzy customer, who became unwell, being treated with the utmost care and attention. Thank you to Manager Sean, with Thomasin and Margot for letting your community know that caring is unchanging. It is amazing how staff members can be the complete opposite to their general manager. A man who is obnoxious and highly unpleasant towards his staff in front of customers.

Cool cinema, with great snacks and a restaurant upstairs! It's a little bit annoying that you can't access the seats from both ends. The seats are comfortable but the front rows are a little bit too low and you have to strain your neck for the screen. The atmosphere, the sound system and the screen are all good and they have very cheap tickets are certain days so be on the lookout.

Part of the Pictureshouse Group. Love the Ritzy because it's situated on part of Windrush Square Brixton. It's next to the Library in Brixton & close to the Black Cultural Archives. The Cinema shows many Independent films, and this is one of the reasons I like it, and its located in one of most vibrant part of South London. This video shows an activity going on, Windrush Square by the Ritzy, on the day of by visit, to mark Windrush Anniversary.

Enjoyed the food in cafe, good bar. Only thing I would suggest is making sure whole venue is accessible and more seating available. Overall enjoyed my experience.

We used the upstairs bar at the Ritzy for a Birthday/belated wedding party and would highly recommend it! Gemma, in particular was really helpful in arranging our booking, very attentive and responsive to both our questions over email and during our visits to the venue. Gemma was always able to accommodate our visits and acted quickly in making arrangements for the day. On the night, Charlie and the bar team were the perfect hosts - very friendly and responsive, working quickly to keep the night on track and our guests topped up. Thank you!!

Great restored old cinema that airs interesting films. Only minor gripe is the seats are fairly flat so you can have an obscured view, but that's just the nature of the original building.

Saw Barrel Children here which was an excellent film. There was a very helpful gentleman who assisted me although, no one came to scan my ticket and there was no attendant at Screen 5 where the film was showing, to address this. The cinema seats were nevertheless comfortable.

Just been to see The Marvel film 'Black Widow' and have to say a great cinema to see it at. Firstly, right by Brixton overground and underground stations. If you are planning to drive there is a chance to park in most places in and around the area as it is free also after 18:30. As you come into the cinema there is plenty of space, and lots of refreshments to choose from. The building itself considering the age has been kept well. Theres also seating areas for people to chill and have a drink prior to going in. Would advise to book online via the picturehouse website for best prices. We give it a solid A***** and will be popping by again soon. LDT x

The theatre is comfortable and well cleaned, I really enjoyed that it is so small . The bar and restaurant was fun, with great food and drinks, we ate outside as it was a wonderfully warm evening. This is now, one of my favourite places.

The best cinema! Go early and chat with the (underpaid) staff for some recommendations. Seen so many movies I wouldn’t have usually and they’ve (mostly) be well worth it. Get a membership! Free tickets pay for the fee. There’s plenty going on upstairs too in the rooftop bar. Check it out and become a part of one of Brixton best institutions.

Outstanding falafel wrap (I think called the shiva wrap on the menu), £10, loved every bite. Three of us popped in for supper post-yoga and managed to order ten minutes before the kitchen closed. Our good fortune, had a lovely evening.

Just such a nice place to come and chill out/ have a drink on your own/ enjoy the atmosphere. Drinks are reasonably priced with a good selection of drinks and as a member the £5 coffee & cake deal is pretty good.

The Ritzy for me is about the monthly blues dance . For eleven years there has been a monthly blues event incorporating a lesson live music & DJ sets. My favourite dance event.

Watched the new Black Panther movie which was great. The cinema was surprisingly empty though but this meant I could sit where I wanted and no noise either. I never noticed until today, how gorgeous the interior is!
