Akari - London - Photo album

Been living in the area for couple of years and Akari was my local’s. Always come back when I’m visiting London, it’s worth it. Affordable and tasty Japanese food with no non-sense fusion or whatever. Authentic place with nice staff and plenty of Asian customers, which says it all. You won’t be disa
Always a great Japanese dining experience at Akari! They have a great selection of classic dishes and the staff is always very attentive. Give it a try if you’re looking for great Japanese food in the Angel/Essex Road area.
Went with friends and family had an excellent relaxed meal. Friendly staff and good service. Food beautifully prepared and great tempura. Octopus was very good and the wasabi had a real well above average kick. (Be excited or be warned!)
The Japanese food is very good. The fish is fresh. Surprisingly, japanese place has coffee and it's very very good. The only some kind of issue is old English pub interior I guess inherited, but I'm sure new owners will change it along the time.
Japanese restaurant meets British pub. Recently simplified and condensed menu of Japanese sushi classics with an occasional British twist. Delightful food in terms of taste, presentation and combos. Japanese beers on tap is a nice touch. Ambitious yet not overbearing restaurant, you'll walk away hap
Nice resto, very reasonable prices. Super good customer service. I guess the only missing thing is that I had fresher sashimi in Asia in the past, but that might be too big of an ask. Still a good place to visit
Still one of the best Japanese restaurants in London 🍤🍱🍣 Succulent black cod, perfectly portioned sushi, vibrant and fresh ingredients, super lovely staff and a great atmosphere. We had an amazing time - they even put a birthday candle in nigiri for us 😊 The sashimi is expertly sliced and the menu h
Had a fantastic time here tonight. The sushi was outstanding and the spicy tuna and avocado rolls were some of the best I have had. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is in an old pub and has kept all the old decor, which works very well. I will be back very soon to try mor
Very good selection of small Japanese plates - had the house maki, sautéed morning glory, and pork belly. Was pleased with the attentive service, pleasant ambiance, friendly manager/kitchen staff, and rich flavours of the food. All in all a great Japanese dinner spot, set in a unique Victorian setti
Really nice food at very reasonable prices. We especially liked the fried chicken - sake pairing (highly recommend). The maguro (tuna) steaks with garlic soy sauce was incredible too. Really lovely staff and nice ambience.
Absolutely love the food here, so much variety and good vibes. Love the Victorian pub interior. They recently came out with a few new menu items that are really nice. The staff members are also excellent and so knowledgeable.
Cute little place converted from a former pub to a restaurant. All the plates look like they are small portioned and Japanese ‘tapas’ style sharing is encouraged. Everything we tried was delicious and cooked to perfection, regardless if it was fried or grilled. Only minor comment was that there isn
Delicious food and great service. Love the concept of Japanese restaurant in a British pub. The staff are always attentive, friendly, and ensured that we were taken care of. Munir's sushi is a must try! Highly recommend
Always wanted to try Akari and finally today we visited and they didn't disappoint. We had a table for 10 people. We got served promptly. The menu was quite extensive; a great selection of sushi, sashimi, rice/noodle dishes. The food was tasty, the miso soup was a bit salty and the rice/noodle dishe
fresh amazing sushi, dumplings and tempura. the miso aubergine, tuna and chicken katsu could have been slightly improve. Lovely atmosphere in restaurant. Really friendly staff. Asahi on draft and good plum wine. good value for money. highly recommend
A stunning venue and a night hard to forget. The ambience was delightful and the evening was magical. Thank you for delivering me the best birthday meal in years.
