Authentic Indian taste for a native Indian tongue as well as for people from Europe. Good portion sizes for a good price. Service could be slightly better, but it was overall a happy visit; they were also playing Bollywood songs from the previous decade. Thumbs up!
Great food. Service was fast but not rushed. Staff attentive. Food very tasty. Biryani great and hot bhuna dish very aromatic. Highly recommended. $26 for two and stuffed to the gills (Elegantly satisfied if you would prefer.)
Fantastic food and service. Arrived 20 mins before they open for dinner. Was checking out the menu, one of the staff came over and gave us a big smile flipped over the open sign and waved us and the kids in.

The restaurant rated well on urbanspoon so we thought we'd try it. We ordered two meat thalis and a side of tarka daal. There was a lot on the table and one thali would have sufficed for both of us. The one vegetable dish in the thali was a little bland in comparison to the others but all in all we weren't disappointed, and the bonus was the price was reasonable.
Closest tube station is Royal Oak.
Fantastic night we had as a family. Food was lovely, close to home, good price and excellent service from Fazi. We will be returning very soon.

Not really a fan of India restaurant but The Bengal is a nice and peaceful restaurant, really enjoyed my meal, special fried rice (eggs and peas) and mixed grill, lovely waiters. I will would definitely come again!

We found Bengal using trip advisor to locate an Indian restaurant close to our hotel. It is easy to find, less than 1 minute from Royal Oak tube station, the staff was very help full, Located in Bayswater on Porchester Road this small, intimate Indian restaurant serves up some of the best Indian food I have ever had! The service was beyond impeccable with an extraordinarily friendly wait staff who greeted us with genuine smiles and sincere conversation. The restaurant soon filled with locals and tourists alike and all were treated as if family had just arrived for a meal! Speaking of the meal ,l it was beyond delicious; the chicken tikka was superb and the biryani was simply divine. The wines were reasonably priced and I suggest the Louis Jardot Chablis to compliment this extraordinary meal. Wherever your travels take you in London this stop must be on your intinerary...you will not be disappointed!

Please bring cold bottle of coke next time on delivery. No body wants a warm cold drink with their meal. Otherwise food was excellent and good portion sizes.

Used to come here frequently when I lived just over the road on Gloucester Terrace until 2009. Have recently gone back and the place, the food and the staff are still just as great as they were years ago. Have since recommended The Begal to anyone who cares to listen and have had lots of good feedback from friends and business acquaintances. Keep up the good work! Absolutely smashing place!!!

Update two years later: consistently good quality, attentive and welcoming staff. Although not normally a fan of mild curries, I tried the chicken korma, coconut rice and peshwari naan and was absolutely not disappointed. For a place that hasn’t let me down once over the course of 10 plus years, 5 stars are completely in order.
Great Indian food around Bayswater and Royal Oak. Absolutely a hidden gem in the area. Try their biryanis and raitas. Very good service as well!

Unpretentious and very good small Indian restaurant with wide selection of traditional dishes and excellent service.
Very good tasty food the mixed grill is a very good option or even the mixed thali. My favourite is the Bengal special and the chicken tikka is special also. Service is very attentive and good.

One of my fav⭐️❤️. I'm working near by this restaurant and most of the time i eat from this restaurant. Staff and owner very respectfull and kind. Food is soo testy and i recommend paneer naga chili with chapatti which is one of my all time fav😊. you guy's should try this restaurant i'm sure u'll love it.
We are living near London from past 3 years and belong from West Bengal. This restaurant has traditional and authentic taste of Bengal which we haven't found. Would love to go there again and again...
