Never having understood, let alone enjoyed, Bollywood films, I was not brought here on name alone. But, upon being recommended by my co-blogger Tom, I had to see if Bollywood Dreams would fulfil my curry reveries.

I visited with Sarah M on a Fri night and despite it being the weekend we were able to take advantage of half price food with a Tastecard (I like to spoil her).

Decorated in classic Indian garish colours, this purple palace might not seem the classiest venue from the outside, but inside it was very pleasant and peaceful.

A draught Cobra added to the relaxed vibe, but the menu could easily get you in a spin given the vast range of options. Luckily, once we'd made our minds up, our choices didn't disappoint. Huge dishes of decent quality along with nice breads to boot made it a very enjoyable meal, served up by very friendly staff.

Not quite Tooting ;) but certainly good value with Tastecard and better than other curries I've had in Clapham.

Bollywood Dreams doesn’t really look like somewhere you’d go for a romantic Indian meal if you checked it out from the outside - weird pink and black theme, frosted windows you can’t see through, clip art type logo. However after a recommendation from one half of Tooting Curry Blog , I popped along with the other half of Tooting Curry Blog last Friday for a chilled (boozed) meal for 2.

Bollywood Dreams doesn't really look like somewhere you'd go for a romantic Indian meal if you checked it out from the outside - weird pink and black theme, frosted windows you can't see through, clip art type logo. However after a recommendation from one half of London Curry Blog , I popped along with the other half of London Curry Blog last Friday for a chilled (boozed) meal for 2.

We'd both been craving curry for ages (me having spend 2 months in India this year and Michael writing a curry blog, kinda makes sense) and Bollywood Dreams didn't disappoint. We made a booking for half 8 and walking in, realised we didn't need to. 1 couple sat by the window, and by the end of the evening we'd only been joined by 1 other couple... atmosphere slightly lacking but it did meant we got excellent service.

The food was excellent with massive portions. We left absolutely stuffed, having ordered 1 starter to share, 2 curries, popadoms, 1 batura, 1 rice, and 1 paratha. The menu is extensive, and by that I mean it has way too many options, leaving even us two curry aficionados feeling confused as to what we should order. We settled for a lamb dish and a chicken dish which were both excellent with delicate spices and lemony flavours. The breads were huge and cooked perfectly. YUM.

Comic bit of the night? Asking the waiter if the food was north Indian and getting the response "Nah, we're south Indian. We're from Bangladesh."

Would recommend to everyone!

Service was impeccable!! All the staff there were so nice and was very impressed with the customer service. The food, oh my god it was delicious!! Most indian restaurants you taste just the spice but with Bollywood dreams you could really taste the flavours. I don't live locally but I will definitely be returning but this time with my friends and family! If you haven't been, YOU MUST GO!!

Love this india take-away, one of the best in Clapham. Good sized portions always get a popadom as well. Recommend

We was recommended to give this place a try and wasn't disappointed at all. We was given complimentary discount for being recommended. The chicken tikka Masala and sagaloo was to die for!
