I waited impatiently for Ohisama to open, having known Indika from his time at Atari-ya. Boy was it worth waiting for! Everything is so very good, from the service to the crockery and the care that Indika takes with the preparation, quality and presentation of the food. Great location too, up the road from The Chiltern Firehouse, and between Baker St and Marylebone High St

Its literally a hole in the wall. The place has some amazing vegetarian japanese food. Ordered for the miso soup, it was nice with bits of tofu. The seaweed salad has nice textures, a must try. Order for the vegetable tempura, it wasnt the best ive had. The sushis were good. The best dish was the sweet aubergine. The mochi icecream was good too. Total damages were 90 pounds, a little expensive for the sort of place it is.

This restaurant was spot on , I just went there today And I'm sure I'll be going back there , It's clearly the best sushi place in central London and the food was scrumptious , Definitely 5 stars !

The restaurant had a peaceful and friendly atmosphere and the staff were kind and approachable if I needed . waiting for the food was worth it because the food was excellently presented , I have tried the dragon roll and it looked spectacular !
Overall , I recommend this place to anyone and if anyone was thinking to try it out , TRY IT you definitely won't regret it

Ohisama boasts an extensive menu full of creative and elaborately presented dishes. The rolls are fun and different to what I've seen elsewhere, but the innovation fortunately doesn't interfere with taste and freshness of ingredients. Basically, the food here is great!

Unfortunately all the care and wonderful execution that goes into the food is not matched by the surroundings, which completely lack atmosphere. Bad lighting, underwhelming decor and general silence mean this is not the first spot you think of when you want to dine out.

Go if you want delicious sushi and don't care where you're eating it.

Quite simply one of the best sushi in central London. Small, nondescript and set in a small corner off Baker Street, most would walk by without even realising what they're missing.

I had a Foie gras gunkan. Melted in my mouth. The oh toro sashimi and spicy yellowtail sushi were stellar as well. 5 stars.

You don’t go to Ohisama for the ambience, for it is utterly lacking in this arena. But this hidden gem off Baker street does plentiful right by sushi lovers with beautifully presented dishes that are fresh, creative and bursting with flavour. Their extensive selection for vegetarians is especially impressive, as it’s such a rarity even in some of the best Japanese restaurants – the crunchy vegetable tempura won over the most carnivorous of my friends on our recent visit.

Ohisama is co-founded by ex-Nobu chef of 15 years Segu Mohamed Lareef, so you can also expect classics like yellow tail sashimi with jalapeño, lobster salad with Yuzu Ponzu dressing and rock shrimp tempura on the menu. They even do nasu dengaku a la Nobu, which is just dreamy.

Desserts are simple and stick to traditional Japanese offerings such as mochi and dorayaki (Japanese-style pancakes). For me, it’s green tea ice cream though that is always a must after a good Japanese meal. Ohisama doesn’t disappoint in this regard, serving up light scoops of bitter-sweet matcha that always hit the spot.

A simple space, what Ohisama lacks for in atmosphere, size and decor, it more than makes up for with its delicious fare.

Upon getting word that an ex-Nobu chef of 15 years has opened a new restaurant in Marylebone, the table for dinner was immediately booked and my imagination ran loose fantasising about what dishes would be served, as Ohisama still does not have a website. Recommended by a friend as having some of the best sushi in London, I can say that my friend’s statement was right on target. Currently operated as a BYOB establishment, Ohisama can go by unnoticed and even seem unappealing from its shop front, with its uninspired interiors and harsh fluorescent lighting. Suffice it to say the ambience will not draw a crowd through its generic glass doors and onto its small sushi bar by the entrance; which is more tolerable that the seating area in the basement that is quite depressing with a tomb-like feeli

Lovely spot for great sushi in London. Sat downstairs in the dining area and was treated very nicely by the staff. The food was delicious and fresh. The drinks were adorable and so was the presentation of everything. A very pleasant spot that I highly recommend!

This has become my favourite sushi place. The taste was amazing, the best i had in london. The restaurant is very nice and aesthetic, i would recommend, the tartar with caviar, salmon skin and the Watson. I had a few more, all the dishes were great, i’ve attached some images (the sushi in the ice bowl was a set sushi for £30). Pricing is very decent for the great quality. Will coming back soon!

This is a little gem in the heart of Marylebone. It was my first visit, just popped in to have a quick lunch on my own. They had a great selection of hot meals for lunch as well as sushi. Mackerel bento was delicious, filling, and miso soup was really tasty. The hospitality and BGM were perfect, and they made me feel at home. I can highly recommend this restaurant!

Nestled in the heart of the city, is a culinary gem that promises an exceptional dining experience with some great customer service. The food was amazing every dish was unique and had their own flavour to it. The staff was very friendly, Deelaka san was a great help when it came to suggestions, and he delivered an excellent service for all of us. Will visit again for sure.

"It was a Japanese restaurant near the hotel where we stayed. We had a sashimi assortment and shrimp tempura udon. The sashimi was fresh, and the shrimp tempura was crispy and delicious. The staff's hospitality was also wonderful. It's a place I definitely want to visit again next time."

I was pleasantly surprised by this place; it reminded me of a spot I used to go to often when I lived in Tokyo. Modest atmosphere, kind + humble staff, excellent food with authentic flavours and quality ingredients. I only found it because I was passing by and thought I'd treat myself, so I only got a small nigiri set and some ocha... next time I will have to try the omakase! 🍣

A small hole in the wall. Some of the best places are ! We sat at the bar and asked for some recommendations and none of them disappointed. The staff were friendly, food was lovely and a good experience. Only downside was they started mopping the floors towards the end of service. Yes we overstayed our welcome but washing with detergent and soaps whilst customers are still in is a bit unsafe .

Finally went with my partner after seeing this place a while back, and I've honestly been blown away. The atmosphere is lovely, with amazing staff and absolutely *delicious* food. We ordered a sushi set (Jo; the deluxe!) and an appetizer (the yubuki salmon), both of which surpassed all my expectations. Beautiful ingredients skillfully treated with care (I've never had tuna so lovely!), and the chef went the whole way as the yubuki salmon was taking a little bit by giving us a few extra nigiri on the house while we waited! We weren't expecting anything of the sort so it felt like a really lovely gesture. Had some mochi ice cream to finish which was also great! Overall amazing experience, absolutely worth the money and will definitely come again for a celebration! I'd give more stars if I could!! ⭐

A nice place to eat suhis and other Japanese meal. The chefs behind the bar make good sushis with fresh ingredients. A bit of waiting, and somehow the service wasn't excellent but ok.

Looks small from the outside, but it isn't! There is another seating area downstairs. They have the most kind staff that I ever encountered in a restaurant! The sushi is very good as well, with lots of options. You can also order a small set of different sushi, if you can't decide.

I can highly recommend this restaurant. We got 3 different rolls of sushi and they all were amazing. You can taste the fresh fish. In addition they have great mochi and teas. The service tonight was fantastic, super friendly and polite. I cannot wait to go to Ohisama again! 🫶

No fault to the food, Sushi was great, made fresh in-front of you. If you sit at the bar. On the more expensive side but it is worth the extra money. Not very disabled friendly unfortunately but there is no way in the space they have to make it so. Staff were okay… it took a while to get drinks we ordered and they forgot the gin part of the gin lemonade twice. Quite a few beers and whisky’s were not available which was disappointing. One staff member was obviously quiet new and could do with a bit more training on the menu.

Food is great but slow as they do a big business in take away. I go every time I'm in London. The sushi is worth the wait.

We had a very good meal at Ohishama Sushi. I found the sashimi very fresh and the sushi very authentic. The only let down was the Tuna and Lobster tacos, the tomato salsa was overpowering the fish flavour. The service was friendly and helpful.

hidden sushi gem in baker street — great service, food presentation and quality! you can choose to sit at the bar or downstairs with sharing tables. my favorites to order were the rainbow roll, toro roll, spider roll, and dragon roll (great for sharing) 🍣 the only con is that the dishes are quite pricey — tried the mini chirashi don for £17 and the variety of ingredients and portion was not worth it. i recommend getting other rolls.

The sushi is really tasty and fresh, one of the best ones I’ve had in London so far. The choices are endless and there’s plenty of dishes beyond just sushi (medium fatty tuna highly recommended!). The special rolls were really excellent, especially the Dragon Roll. We had a great waiter who gave solid recommendations, everything he recommended we enjoyed, both food and drinks-wise. In terms of food service, it was all a bit slow, everything was coming at random times, with soup after we had a good amount of food already, and we had to remind them that we’re missing one dish. Plus the chocolate praline cake, although was advertised to us as a brownie, was definitely a cheesecake-style dessert and had a really hard base. Overall and all, we’ll definitely return and I recommend the place - the food is worth the visit!

What an amazing place! You’d miss this place if you walked past but it’s one of those low key places that you walk in curious and walk out super happy! This one is a 10/10
