I like places which offers Casual dining with great food and reasonable prices. This place was exactly the kind I like and prefer. Okan offers casual dinning with amazing food and is budget friendly. It is definitely a hidden gem in Brixton Village and has the most authentic Japanese food. The service was impeccable and so was the styling & presentation of the food. Do try their signature dishes. Highly recommended.

I recently dined at Okan Brixton and had the pleasure of trying their signature seafood okonomiyaki and seafood omuri with soba. I must say, both dishes were not only delicious but also incredibly authentic. The flavors transported me straight to Japan, and the seafood was fresh and flavorful. If you're a fan of okonomiyaki and looking for an authentic experience in London, I highly recommend Okan Brixton. It's a must-visit for Japanese cuisine enthusiasts.

Had a warm sake, a squid okonomiyaki, and a omu yaki soba. It was delicious and the portions were quite good. It was expected for the price, and I absolutely missed seating on a stool, reminds me of home. However, there were quite a few gnats which were annoying tho.

Came here first in 2019 during Winter and the udon warmed us up and was so tasty! Last year when I came during the Summer, they weren’t open on the day I went down. Glad I got to have a meal at Okan on this trip! I ordered the Okan Special Okonomiyaki (prawn, squid, kimchi and corn) and the Spicy Pork Miso Udon. The lady warned me that it would be a lot of food for one person and said if I couldn’t finish it, she had boxes for me to pack the food in - I ate everything there hehe Lovely staff and lovely place. It gets quite packed as the shop’s quite popular.

Not a bad place for food but very slow service, we came here on a weekday when there weren’t many people and it still took a long time for the waiters to come and ask for our order. The restaurant like all restaurants in the market is very small. Reasonably priced so if you don’t mind the slow service do come here

We really liked our prawn gyozas!! I usually never get those in Japanese restaurant but having read reviews about them I thought I’d try them, and it did not disappoint!! The onigiri were also really yummy, simple but packed with flavours! The okinomiyami were good, although I felt like it was lacking some more kewpie mayo and my partner didn’t like the kimchi in them because he thought it overpowered the taste. Still delicious though, would come back again!

Great place, food, service and vibe!! We went for the typical one and loved it. The only thing that wasn’t great was the green ice tea is it only tasted of water with a hint of something but not really tasty but besides that the place is good, quick service and will be going back :)

First time having okonomiyaki, tasted good but I’d say ramen is still my preferred! Portion is a bit small for me, knowing in hindsight I should’ve added noodles. Friend ordered the pork udon. Their drinks are really good, yuzu honey tea perfect for cold winter like this. Nice food, but felt a bit on a rush to leave cos the waitress comes regularly and ask if you wanna order anything else.

Great Japanese food, the Gyozas were on point. Went on a Friday and it was fully packed, might need to wait a couple minutes for a table on busy nights. Definitely worth the wait for the food

Incredible Japanese street food here. Get the special its well worth it, especially if you like prawns. Absolutely goat spot to turn up pre gig at Brixton, plenty of affordable asahis to get you going. Will be back here again for the fast service, delicious food, and great street food vibes. I've never been to Japan but feel like this is a good taster of it.
