Adorable kitschy cafe with enticing offerings.
Took in in-laws here for a spot of Brunch (but mostly because I wanted to check out the newest addition for Brown & Green).
At first we were squished onto a tiny table by the window as it was so busy but just as we got settled a 'booth' became available, much to my relief. Our booth was adorned with bunting, cute local artwork for sale and flowers, with a mixture of trellis and old doors making up the walls in-between.
B&G brekkies all round, lots of local produce and free range eggs, all tasting delicious. As per usual in these 'hip' places beans were served in a metal mug and drinks were served in various jars, glasses and vintage brown mugs, all looking very trendy :-P
Every yummy, we were well looked after and the cake looked amazing if I could just fit more in my belly!
I've visited all of the local B&Gs and they're all great, but had a particularly wonderful Sunday brunch at this branch of B&G - fabulous food and great service.
So many gluten-free and veggie/vegan options too, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very generous portions and beautifully presented, and lots of flexibility for menu choices if there was something you wanted to change.
There were seven of us but all of our orders arrived together. Brilliant! Will definitely return.
Lovely cafe with a wonderful selection of veggie, vegan, GF, and regular options. The staff are very attentive, the space is well laid out, and the kitchen prepares meals promptly. Seating indoor & outdoor, lovely place to while away the time. Just a heads up, 10% service charge on everything
Nice food but agree with other contributors about making you pay in advance and you don’t even get a receipt so you have no idea what you’re paying for! Was told the service charge was mentioned at bottom of menu however the menu was very grubby with old food so didn’t really look at much as I knew what I wanted. Also I was cleaning the table myself with napkins while the staff just chatted behind the counter there were about two people in there at lunchtime so not busy. It’s just a bit tired and lack lustre with poor service.
My partner had bacon & eggs butties and I had sausage & egg butties. Really delicious and we will be back again for breakfast. Their lunch menu looks interesting and will try to visit for lunch too.
I’ve visited here a few times, it’s not one of my favourite CP places for breakkie but I went back today and the service was great. We both got a full English for lunch, portions are okay and they were accommodating with our requests. I would ditch the salad though and not charge extra for eggs being scrambled maybe. The sourdough which we paid extra for was delicious and was pre buttered for us too. I had a lovely kombucha though and my friend said the coffee was very good.
Came for lunch here today with my friend. Staff were super attentive and friendly and the food was delicious! The Chai Latte was lovely as well! Hope to come back soon!
Vegan and pet friendly. Enjoyed this place in the outdoors after the lockddown re-opening. They offer light snacks, sandwiches, paninis, and a variety of drinks (including alcoholic drinks). Service was very attentive. The only criticism are the cakes, which despite the name, they were a bit dry. But to enjoy the outdoors in a nice spacious seating area is fantastic. They did a great job.
We stumbled upon this little gem in Crystal Palace. It has a real quirkiness to it which drew our attention and a good brunch menu. I was so hungry, I ordered a full breakfast with coffee. Food came quickly, it was tasty and even seemed somewhat healthy. Not the usual greasy fry ups I'm used to, which was a relief. Entrance was wheelchair friendly, but I didn't check for accessible toilets. This is a good place for a coffee or even an informal meeting.
Went for a sandwich—excellent sandwich! We had a very long wait, but staff came twice to apologise (before we approached them) and offered us free cake. I can forgive pretty much anything for free cake.
I had the avocado and bacon sandwich, which was delicious. Then chose a salted-caramel banana cake. Perfect. I hope to eat here again.
The decor is ‘hipster’ (so I am told, was a muddle of pipes and corrugated iron and stylish art). The chairs had backs (I hate sitting at benches, so that was good) but they weren’t the most comfy chairs in the world. All seemed clean and organised.
Exceptional breakfast spot in CP. Try the Auzzie Eggs...veggiemite never taste so good. Lovely atmosphere. Always popular the lovely staff coupe well with the busy and high demand tables. Great service amazing coffee and cakes!
What a fabulous cafe - loved the quirky interior. Fabulous food and a great choice on the menu, I had the Hart which was delicious followed by the stick toffee gingerbread cake which was divine. Great prices and great service andtgey serve a mean latte. I will definitely be back
Quick service, good food, Good location. Hot drinks were nice. Only downside is the tables are a little together so general bumping with other customers.
Amazing food, friendly service.
Sadly coffee is pretty good but not amazing, doesn't seem to be a focus
I loved this place since the first moment I stepped in! Staff was friendly and smiling, and gave advice on which cake to try since it was my first time there! The hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows was good and the cake in the photo was delicious!! I love the way they decorated the place! While we were there, there were few dogs around us, so it’s good to know that it’s a lovely dog friendly café! They also changed my friend’s cake because her slice was much smaller than mine; once realised that, they gave her another slice! Really appreciated! I would definitely go back and recommend it!
Lovely friendly helpful staff, and speedy service. A couple of forks hadnt been through quality control hence 4 stars, but were whisked away and replaced immediately and apologetically. Totally forgiven because of the amazing choice and flavours on offer, proper drinks and the delightful presence of local doggies. 🍸😊🐕
Great breakfast and coffee albeit on the pricey end (baps go for almost £8) but the atmosphere of the indoor seating space is excellent and sometimes you just need to treat yourself!
I recently visited this cafe, and I must say, I was impressed with the cosy and charming atmosphere. The decor was nice, and the warm lighting created a pleasant ambiance.
The food and coffee were both delicious, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in each bite and sip. The cafe offered a range of options, from classic breakfast fare to creative sandwich options, and everything we tried was flavorful and satisfying.
Moreover, the customer service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff always ready to assist us. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered recommendations based on our preferences, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.
However, the downside of this cafe was the price. While the food and coffee were of high quality, the prices were a little on the expensive side, which may not be ideal for those on a budget.
Overall, the cosy atmosphere, delicious food and coffee, good customer service, make this cafe worth a visit. Although it is a little on the pricey side, the quality of the experience makes it a great place to enjoy a relaxing meal or a quick coffee.
Super brunch location. We were lucky with the weather to sit outside. The server was witty and charming. Delicious halloumi, avo, rocket and tomato in a bun.
