Great venue, great cocktails, very knowledgeable bartenders! What else do you need?
Stumbled upon this bar. Great place. Great Cocktails
Wasn't sure what to expect but what a great night! We have not stopped raving about this place......it's a very unassuming bar until you head downstairs. We took the VIP area which was a very cool experience. We also want thank Marcello for making it an awesome experience to remember.

Visited this lovely airy space for brunch with a group of bloggers, in first my first ever bloggers brunch and I must say, it was nice to have a bit of a break from afternoon tea, which often tends to dominate so many blogger events! Located in what feels like the middle of nowhwere, I wondered if I was actually going the right way when I was walking there but was surprised at how busy a place like this was on a Saturday morning as I would have imagined it would be mostly a bustling weekday jaunt for the commuter crowds. In any case, I started off with ordering a fresh mint tea. I was a little disappointed to find that the cup was dirty. I'm not usually one to complain about these things but I do feel clean crockery is a simple enough thing to get right! But they quickly corrected that and once the group arrived, we proceeded on with choosing food.....well after about half an hour of chatting that is!
Most of us ended up going for egg based savoury options and the potato hash choices were proving popular. Feeling guilty about the lack of vegetables I had been getting through that week, I opted for the duck fried egg with potato hash and curried broccoli and cauliflower. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the dish was incredibly filing and tasted great for what it was supposed to be but I'm not sure if I personally think that curried flavour vegetables work with fried eggs for breakfast....next time, I'll let my heart choose not my guilt!
The sweet options looked quite tempting to including waffles and dropped scones and I might be rebellious and try those next times but by and large, the breakfasts were going down a treat with all the other bloggers in the room. Now, I'm not a coffee drinker but there was a consensus view that the coffee art could have been a little prettier for photography purposes of course. You can see what the blogger priorities are can't you when it comes to lunch!
We overstayed our turnaround time but to give credit to the restaurant, they tried really hard to leave us alone for as long as possible and even when they finally politely asked us that we may need to vacate, the lady who asked looked ever so guilty and did so in such a nice and apologetic way.
Hidden in plain sight on a corner, down some nondescript wrought iron stairs, lies Bourne & Hollingsworth. From the same family as the Rev JW Simpson, and big sister to the newly opened B&H Buildings in Clerkenwell, Bourne & Hollingsworth is petal prohibition. A small square of a room with distressed furniture around the edges and a Victorian fireplace along one of the very floral walls, you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd stumbled into your great grandmother's living room. At first glance, it might feel a little odd but a couple of strong cocktails later, you'll find yourself in full swing.
Cocktails here aren't for the faint-hearted, the flavours and measures here are bold. We headed down on Monday night last week to check out the new Spring menu - strangely, the new ones I'd heard about were nowhere to be seen so we got stuck in with some of the classics on the menu. Quite a few are served in china teacups - I'm a little over this twee detail but I suspect B&H were 'doing it before it became a thing' elsewhere - or jamjars. Our favourites were 'Hoof' (in aforementioned teacup) which combined Irn Bru reduction with vodka into a guiltily bright orange concoction and another whose name escapes me that mixed white port with grape juice, vodka and soda and came in the ubiquitous jar.
This place pulls in the crowds at the weekend and finding a seat or a table can be tricky. It's a good little pitstop on your night out but it might not be your final destination.
With a pinkish glow, row upon row of bottles stood awaiting their command to be fashioned by the expert hands of their masters into something wonderful.
Descend the stairs into Bourne and Hollingsworth and you'll think you've entered an old lady's living room - patterned wallpaper, a slightly musty odour and quirky lampshades all seem a little out of place in a lively cocktail bar. It's certainly different - some might say in a pretentious way - but it sure does pull in drinkers. I've rarely been able to find a table in here, let alone a place to stand. While the decor may play a part in this, the real highlight is the fantastic array of cocktails on offer - often served in teacups, they're really spectacular. It's worth noting that the bar is small though so even if you get a seat you'll likely have to queue for some time for each round of drinks.
First time here and what an absolutely lovely place it was. Brilliant atmosphere, brilliant staff, drinks are very well made. Best old fashioned I have ever tasted. Apologies to the DJ if I was annoying and well done with the banging tunes. Everyone was up and dancing. Love this place and will definitely be back.
Basement cocktail bar. Unpleasant smell like drains was very apparent. Great great bar staff and DJ. Cocktails were amazing and unusual. Pricey but it's London. Great decor but no cocktails in teacups as I was expecting! Great bar all the same. Get there early for a seat!
Hidden away at the corner of Rathbone Place and Percy Street, it is one of those hidden London gems that just thrive on good cocktail making with both classic and new recipes that are pleasing to the eye and the taste buds. Very very small place located in the basement. We went early afternoon without booking but it gets busy very quickly towards the evening.
Interesting experience: strange decoration - not really high-end but cocktails are good and the staff is cool and friendly.
Cosy little cocktail bar with great music and staff. The bar is conveniently located in Soho close to the tube station and has a great selection of their own cocktails with the bartenders happy to make the classics as well. Would definitely recommend but they can get super busy so make a booking!
Totally instagrammable bar tucked downstairs - although you can't miss it from street level with their outdoor lighting (you'll see what I mean!). It's pretty compact, so either arrive early or book a table. Really nice range of cocktails and really lovely bar tenders. Even the toilets are pretty! For proof of instagram-friendliness, here's my pic!
Good cocktails and vibes in a small space. Gets very hot in there though!
Cool bar, really like the atmosphere. We had booked a table and it wasn't available even though we came late so just had to stand around another table which was a bit annoying. Cocktails were delicious and there's a speakeasy vibe, but that also meant we couldn't actually read the menus in the dark. Reasonable drinks prices.
Nice little and lively intimate place, tucked away off of Tottenham Court Road.
Cocktails are a fair pour and nicely balanced. Would recommend for boogie/date night 👌
An “if you know you know” bar with personable staff and a great atmosphere. If you’re a lover of good cocktails & warm ambience then you’ll love this gem!
Banging little spot. Staff know what they're doing, every drink was on point. Live DJ's that know how to read a room and the doorman was super welcoming which is always a massive plus!
Great choice of drinks covering house specials and all the classics. The staff are warm and welcoming. The venue has limited seating so would recommend booking a table if you're going in peak hours.
Really nice experience had in B&H! We didn’t make reservation but the staffs are so nice and welcoming, they squeezed us in and switched a even better sit later. Really good service!
Drinks are also remarkable, the menu is super creative.
very friendly staff that actually care about the drinks they make! got a free taster for the platinum jubilee :) the decoration is very quirky and the drinks are genuinely great. recommend
Nice, very casual spot for cocktails and music. Quite rustic and laid back. Small spot so would recommend booking if you are in a group. Cocktails were nice. Staff pleasant. Furnishings could do with an update although that's maybe part of the charm of the place..
Great little underground bar, friendly staff, I've been a few times and taken some friends here too, always have a good time.
This is one of my favourite cocktail places in London. The guys are so nice and friendly. The cocktails have always been delicious (my favourite is the Juniper). It gets really busy Thursday and Friday nights but as everywhere else. Whenever I have friends visiting, I always bring them there and they love it!
