First time ordering from this establishment & wasn't disappointed.
The 'Pie, Mash & Liquor' was delicious 😋
Love the interior of the shop, it takes me back when I was a child & going with my parents for our Saturday treat.
Definitely worth a visit.
Owner could be a bit more cheerful or he simply don't like me and I don't even know him but food was good love the liquor spicy vintage could be stronger and pies a bit less gravy inside but overall a good pie and mash experience
Fantastic traditional pie and mash, with liquor or gravy and the best authentic dine-in the match. Crisp and dense pastry make it a proper pie. An absolutely must try.
I used to eat here when I was 10 years old .
I am now 81 years old .
It still looks good.
Just about made it before they closed. Just like I remember from when I was a kid 60 years ago. Had a chat with the owner a descendant from the original family. He talked about retiring in 18 months to Norfolk which is where I now live.
Very nice pie and mash friendly staff well worth a visit 👍
Best P&M in town. Been going for nearly 50 years
Great value London food. Pie and mash a meal in a moment. Traditional atmosphere.
Best traditional pie and mash you can get, staff are amazing. Wouldn't go anywhere else!
For an authentic traditional South East London Pie 'n' Mash parlour, this is the place I will only ever eat at. I've tried many others, but none in my opinion beat Manze's in Deptford High Street! Absolutely delicious freshly baked pies, real mash and emerald green liquor all curtesy of George. I've been coming here since a small child and can remember his mum serving and dad out back in the open kitchen.
Pie’n’Mash varies in London, especially the East-End v South-East. They all have nuances on what is traditional and varying recipes. I’m born and bred South-East London therefore I’m bias. Naturally. But this establishment is spotlessly clean, open kitchen at the back, freshly handmade cooked pies and real potatoes mashed throughout the service of the day and the most welcoming friendly staff.
Deptford is now a place for culinary trends and that’s fantastic for the area and high street to pull in the visitors. However Manze’s has been serving the locals for over 120 years.
Nothing has changed and it's all the more better for it! 5 Stars*****
Really well run little place in Deptford. Fantastic value for such tastey pie and mash! A little piece of London history served up on a plate, I love that places like this still exist! Will definitely be back for more!
