Great place for breakfast brunch. Dishes are hearty. Had the eggs royale, which was done pretty well. Service is good. Recommend if you're in the area

Looking for breakfast on my way to the British Museum and this place looked warm and friendly. Love the seating by the windows on a sunny day. Had a cream cheese and salmon bagel. Bagel was a bit hard in texture. I think it may have benefited from a few extra accompaniments, for instance chives.

Coffee was acceptable by London standards but a far cry from the Australian coffee that I am used to having. There just isn't the depth of flavour in London!

Definitely a cute place to do a breakfast date but I am not completely sold.

A nice spot for a breakfast in the middle of town - I enjoyed my omlette and hash brown and the coffee was STRONG - always a plus point on a London morning!

The decore is quirky and eclectic, and the service was good (apart from the wait for the bill, which was a tad overlong!).  A great spot to linger, but perhaps not if you're in a rush.

I remember the time my cousin and his wife visiting me from Australia last year, he said good coffee in London is hard to find. I suggested for him to stay in the Shoreditch/Old Street area, known for hidden spots for coffee. Shoreditch Grind is created by David a Londoner and his friend Kaz from Melbourne. Holborn Grind is their second branch. The independent coffee and cocktail bar is located next to The Hoxton hotel in Holborn. After the Bloggers market event, I went next door to Holborn grind for a coffee.

Getting my usual coffee choice a soy cappuccino, I perched myself by the window watching people pass by. As the coffee arrived, I inhaled the rich aromas, looked at the frothy whipped light milk, taking the first sip, the heavenly roasted flavours stood out. The coffee is outrageously amazing, the atmosphere at the Holborn grind is chic, and if you don't fancy a coffee. Your in luck, cocktails and beers are also available and as the night darkens an evening food menu.

It just might be a little on the pricey side, but damn - Holborn Grind is good. And don't they just know it.

Already established in its Old Street incarnation (AKA Shoreditch Grind), Holborn Grind has a different feel - a little more chic, a little less hipster, but no less tasty. I've popped in for the occasional pastry, but on this particular morning, they really outdid themselves on my order of smashed avocado on toasted sourdough with feta, chilli, and a squeeze of lemon.

Though I had this to takeaway, my toppling tower of avo was anything but smashed by the time I made the 2-minute walk to my office: it was creamy, with just the right amount of feta crumbled in and the chilli gave me a nice kick in the you-know-what to start off my Friday morning. At £5.50, it's not the cheapest breakfast you could have, but it was certainly delicious (and exactly what I had been craving this morning).

Staff are friendly and welcoming - always a plus when I've just woken up and am grumpy. Soz.

There's no stopping Grind & Co..

First came Shoreditch Grind, the iconic Old Street café which made a name for itself when it started opening later and serving Espresso Martinis in 2012. Then Soho Grind arrived earlier this year with a basement bar attached, followed by temporary pop-up Piccadilly Grind inside the Underground station. To cap off a busy 2014, Holborn Grind opened up attached to the new Hoxton Hotel, Holborn.

Espresso Martinis are their calling card, made with Grind & Co. House Espresso Blend, Chase Vodka & Sugar Syrup. The House Blend has recently been tweaked leading to a slightly sweeter cocktail, but it still does the business. There's also an enjoyable Flat White Russian and an interesting Espresso Old Fashioned.

If you want a caffeine-free cocktail, you can opt for classic Negronis, Old Fashioneds and Tommy's Margaritas, or branch out to brandy based Quincey Jones and Pear Pressure creations, and the gin-laced Rhubarbie. It's worth asking if they have some Hot Buttered Rum brewing too. Thanos behind the bar will sort you out. In fact, all of the staff were rather excellent on my visit.

There's charcuterie & bruschetta to nibble on, but you could also check out Hubbard & Bell or Chicken Shop that are also attached to the hotel. If you fancy another drink nearby, do it in style at Scarfes Bar at The Rosewood, or choose from a wide range of beers at The Holborn Whippet.

What's next for Grind & Co.?

They have just announced that a fourth site will open in London Bridge in late January, called London Grind

I was on the hunt for a quick coffee stop off in Holborn, and I've very glad I stopped at the Holborn Grind.
Every item of food on display looks incredibly tempting and delicious. The salads look bright, colourful, and healthy, and all the pastries scrumptious, there is plenty of choice. Despite being rather on the small side, the cafe has managed to successfully fill the space with enough tables, chairs and barstools for everybody in there, without making it seem overcrowded.

I treated myself to a custard tart, my favourite type of treat. It is everything you would want, incredibly moist and squidgy on the inside, flaky gold on the outside: perfect. My latte is also very good, it is served in a glass, which I am rather partial to, and is also exactly what I am looking for. It is frothy, smooth and well mixed.

The service was great, I've not a slight complaint. As soon as I walked in the door there were smiling people greeting you, and clean tables to sit you. The staff seemed to go the extra mile, asking if you fancied anything else whilst they cleared away your plate. They all seemed to genuinely enjoy working there.

Overall, a really cool find, and much more than just your average cafe. Next time I would love to go there for lunch and try one of their packed sandwiches as they looked fabulous.

London has so many options when it comes to Pubs & restaurants. This is why service is EVERYTHING! I’ve been here on multiple occasions and there is always a friendly face to assist me, a wonderful selection of wine and beers, and delightful food that surpasses what you would normally get at a traditional pub. This place is clean with a spacious downstairs and it’s all thoughtfully decorated. Plus, don’t miss out on their Slow Braised Beef Bourguignon and mash—it’s a class apart!

Was walking along the street and popped in found a lovely bottle of wine that I’ve been searching for. Went back later for a glass of champagne that the staff has recommend earlier that day. Lovely and cozy place. Great wine selection and good wine by the glass choices. Davy’s celebration champagne was lovely. Staff were knowledgeable and super friendly. Would go back every day if I was living in London

Can usually recommend the fish & chips here - chips chunky, fish fresh - but last time around it had shrunk to a child size piece. I wasn't the only person in our party to notice the change. Will move on to try something different next time.
