Excellent and impressively fast service.
Reasonably priced Chinese food for London
Delicious food and a lot of food for two people
Very authentic
Great food, excellent service and a nice ambience.
The crispy duck is amazing. The miso soup is a must and the dim sum is heavenly. Will definitely be back !
This was the go to place for "dim sum" for the wolf pack back in time and boy it is more like a "German manufacturing unit", they have always been efficient without being posh and serves top quality stuff , I mean where on earth would you get a plateful of "soft shelled crab" under 6 quid ? entertain no one who says otherwise, ta.
Great dimsum. Consistently reliable and excellent dimsum , cold baby octopus highly recommended
I cannot tell you how elated I was to find an excellent dim sum place in central London. I'm Asian and from Vancouver so no surprise that dim sum is my absolute favourite type of weekend lunch. Lido Chinese Restaurant is in the heart of Chinatown next to Leicester Square. I won't deny that this area is a tourist trap. And it's even in the main strip with all of the red lanterns. But trust me on this, I've eaten a lot of dim sum in my day, and this place is both delicious and best of all, it's CONSISTENT. I've now been here more than five times and it never fails to impress guests and my insatiable appetite for dumplings. When I mention dim sum to the uninitiated, they tell me they've never tried it because they don't know what to order. In traditional dim-sum places, there will be people pushing around carts of food which you can then order straight off the cart. But you have to know what you are looking for or it just becomes a case of pointing and eating. The dim sum menu at Lido is
We would happily return to Lido for our dim sum rituals.
Organised a large group for dim sum. Been years since l had been here. Quality of food is still good. Portions are standard, service was friendly and efficient and dim sum prices are better than most restaurants in Chinatown.
Came back again with another friend and her kids. Not ideal to sit in a small corner table as it’s hard to grab the attention of staff. This is my place to go for dim sum now.
Haven't visited this place in over 10 years, a group of 9 of us visited on a Friday evening. We arrived 20 mins early, as the table was ready, we were allowed to sit and wait for the others.
I am currently using a crutch, I noticed there was no step free access or disabled toilets on the ground floor.
We were surprised to see a few dim sum dishes available in the evening but they were a bit pricey. The kids were excited, we ordered many other dishes, special fried rice, crispy noodles, char siu, crispy pork, sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style, beef ho fun, steamed buns, clay pot tofu vegetable and many more.
We absolutely enjoyed it all, service didn't take long.
The kids were staving and tucked in straight away so I only managed to take a few photos.
Would definitely visit again!
Staff were polite and friendly too!
Food is very good and portion and price are ok as well.
The staff are ok, took over 5 mins to be seated.
Went there for dinner and tried 2 dishes from evening dimsum. (Hakao and Siumai) both are very good.
Also, got wonton noodle and pi-dan (thousands years egg) congee. Nice and easy dinner 🩷
Cannot rate traditional main course meals, however, dim sum was really good. The reason being 4 stars is luckily one item had a bamboo steamer on top of a plate that needed to be scrubbed and no one payed attention to it. Odd enough but some foods that had some kind of liner had some crusts and on the rim of the plate. Getting food out was a bit slow but makes me take time to digest. I would give a hygiene rating somewhere between a 3-4.
Great little restaurant in China town with good authentic Chinese food. Came for dim sum and the food was delicious. The only downside is the space as sometimes you'll be sitting very close to the neighbouring table if it gets busy.
Always eat here when in London and have been coming for years.
Food always hot and fresh and service is quick. A really good range of dishes are available too.
It was raining that day and we were famished.
Decided to have a big brunch. Asian style
I ordered three roast meal with rice.
So thay had roasted duck, roasted pork char siu and crispy pork belly. Not bad for its prize to size ratio. I have gotten myself a good deal and a good meal.
Since I love dimsum, I ordered some extras to go with my main. I got the Har Kau and Scallop Cheung Fun.
HAR KAU is peeled shrimps in dumpling form. Juicy and succulent and you could really taste the sweetness of the shrimp.
SCALLOP CHEUNG FUN is flat rice noodles sheets thats steamed and encasing sweet, juicy and plump scallops. It is seasoned well that its a perfect of sweet and salty. Texture play with the cheung fun and the scallops.
So my colleague decided to order lunch set meals for 2. Thinking it would be sharing portions but then it became a feast. So we all were happy with our meal, no regrets. 😊

Highly recommend if you’re in Chinatown. It’s busy but not too busy which is great. Members of staff were very friendly, welcoming, attentive, and efficient! Our food came out very quick, it felt like within 10 minutes.
If you’re looking to try a new dish, I’ll definitely say the spicy duck tongue. It’s really good at Lido.
The pork pastry was much smaller than I’ve ever had and anticipated, it’s also got a different taste compared to what I’ve had before but everything was yummy.
Had a lovely meal with extended family - 12 people in total. We are regular patrons of Chinese restaurants and this is one of the better ones. The food was delicious, the seasoning was perfect and nobody complained of the usual "over use of msg thirst" afterwards. The portion size good, service from the staff really good and their prices really fair. Would definitely visit again. A nice Chinese restaurant 😋
