Definitely more drinks than food in here.
The range of ales and beers changes frequently and the atmosphere is always nice and jovial.
The food is a different story. It seems ok on the menu, but the presentation and flavour is lacking somewhat. Ok, it's a pub, but for the prices the food should be better. It's all just a bit... Murgh!
My husband and I had a spectacular Sunday roast at the Jolly Gardener! With only begin in London for one Sunday, it as hard to pick a restaurant for the Sunday roast. I picked the Jolly Gardener because of the variety of sides and the history and location of the pub. Our server was fantastic and suggested I order the pork (my husband had the roast beef). The vegetables were so tasty (ginger roasted root vegetables, cauliflower cheese, greens). Another server suggested the peanut butter cheesecake for desert - amazing! We had a great time in this lovely historic London pub. Thank you Jolly Gardeners!
What a find! In the heart of beautiful Putney I was greeted upon arrival by the most majestic Bernese Mountain dog I have ever met in my life. It was the warmest welcome I’ve received anywhere in the world.
I found a table in the characterful and charming Jolly gardener before ordering myself the crispest pint of Neck Oil ever experienced. Followed by fish and chips that would rival any Michelin star restaurant found in London.
I chatted with charming locals Paul and Freddy who shared tales of a forgotten London which had me captivated for hours. I would absolutely return and I truly felt at home.
I loved this pub. They have these cool huts with heating ( perfect now that js getting chilly) that make it safe and give you privacy. The toilets were sparkling clean and service was superb.
The wine list is quite interesting, and food is fine. Mostly pub options and a few more interesting ones with a good presentation. Overall, highly recommended during corona times!
We watched the rugby world cup final and had booked a table for dinner. The food and service were excellent. Family friendly.
Lovely pub off Putney high street. Love the gardening themed decor inside, and the garden out the front is sunny and sheltered with cute huts. Chicken and chorizo main was delicious and they have a good drinks selection. They've also got lots of projectors to show the football when it matters! The service was really good and friendly too. Will come again!

I attended a private event in this quiet, but quaint pub. Away from the main high street, it has plenty of evening parking surrounding. The front of the pub is just right for mingling, and the entertainment for the night was spot on. Drinks are fairly priced, and the food is exquisite.
Had a brilliant time watching the rugby here last weekend. The staff looked after us really well.
Lovely pub, slightly off the beaten track in suburban Putney. The staff were friendly and the pub itself really gave off a warm friendly feeling. There was a decent beer garden out the front with beach huts on the roadside and picnic tables elsewhere.Inside was decorated with numerous boat related nick knacks (it is Putney!) that added a nice level of whimsical character to the place. There is also London's smallest (?) beer garden out the back with two tables with shelter. The Guinness was excellent.
First pub meal out of lockdown and the team here were great. Followed new health and safety protocols but still made us feel genuinely welcome. Food was amazing! The place was clean and well organised.
Had a great time at the quiz last Tuesday, awesome value and friendly staff. Great atmosphere and vibes inside and out!
The Jolly Gardeners was the first place we went as soon as the pubs were allowed to reopen.
With weeks and weeks of eating my own cooking we could not wait to sample the roast, and we were not disappointed.
The food was delicious and with all the safety measures in place we felt protected.
The Jolly Gardeners offers the perfect level of social distancing whilst not losing the great atmosphere.
Nice british pub in Putney area, it’s located away from the high road. With terrace, huts and garden to be outside. Quite spacious and nicely decorated. Good selection of craft beer and decent British menu.
They always play good music.

Decent enough sound system for the football. Could do with investing in a bigger protector.

A very quaint and cute little bar. The pours are healthy and the drinks taste great. The food is really good and very tasty. Their cider’s are really good. There’s plenty of space inside with multiple televisions so if you want to watch the big match you can easily accomplish that here. During the winter with the lights and decorations it has a very “homely and pleasant atmosphere” that is very welcoming. But if you fancy some fresh air there are some adorable little huts outside that at night, create a really cosy and elegant atmosphere that is perfect for a date night outing. Best thing about this place though, the bartenders are really friendly and easy to talk to and pretty cool. There’s a guy there called Steph, he’s awesome. Very professional and pours a great drink/ makes a great cocktail but is also really cool to talk to and makes every effort to make your stay a great one, he’s a great bartender and a great guy. I would highly recommend this place.
