Great Korean Barbecue. Good service and food. My husband and I love Korean Barbecue and already tried a few Korean restaurants in London. Han Kang is a winner. We'll come back in our next visits to London.
This was my second visit here, after visiting about a year ago.
On our first visit, we ordered most of the barbecue meat to share, which was cooked on the hot plate at our table by the waiter. I especially liked the chicken.
This time round was a bit of a busy time, on a Friday evening, and we just about managed to get a table. They were kind enough to set the table in the back private room, although we did have to share the other half of the table with another group of diners, which wasn't much of a problem. Except that it was probably a bit tight and warm in there...
For starters, we ordered a pancake and some noodles to share. The seafood pancake was quite tasty and is usually something I would order in most Korean restaurants that I visit. The stir fried glass noodles which was recommended was really tasty, although maybe a bit too oily for me.
We each ordered a main each. I had the spicy sliced beef soup which was served with a bowl of steamed rice. My soup also had some glass noodles in it, which was nice. The best kind of dish to have during the cold winter months. My other friends had the BBQ pork with rice, the spicy soup with cod, tofu and rice, and the bibimbab dish, which all of them enjoyed.
Overall a pretty good Korean restaurant, with decently priced food.
You may however come out smelling a bit like the food that you just ate...
Unfortunately due to the UK's health and safety laws you can't get the full Korean barbeque experience. Nevertheless you can still enjoy some great Korean food right in the centre of town.
Part of the ethos behind korean bbq is to enjoy a medley of different dishes therefore, to get as close to the full experience as possible go for one of the set dishes on the barbecue menu. The squid stood out for me so if you go for a single main I'd recommend that one.
Service is good, I like how they bring the food in waves. If your after a drink I recommend trying some traditional Korean soju you'll hate or love it but the more you drink the more you'll be swayed.
A backstreet gem of a restaurant that hasn't disappointed in my two visits so far. Fresh and vibrantly-flavoured Korean standards arrive promptly, with friendly service and atmosphere.
had an enjoyable dinner with my friends here. i do recommend booking a table first just in case. the food and service were amazing 🤌 the spicy fried chicken is a must-try tho 🥹 definitely will visit this place again
Food was good- we shared 4 dishes for 3 people. Took the recommendations of the hostess and was not disappointed. Service was very prompt. Really enjoyed the small private atmosphere.
Best Korean Fried Chicken I've had in ages, decently spicy so we had to take a couple of breaks mid meal, but definitely worth it. The batter was crunchy and the chicken cooked to perfection. We forgot to take photos because it was so good and fresh!
Fried chicken is nice(I like the sweet n spicy flavour). Pork backbone soup is a must order, it’s super nice and really like the potatoes inside.
Amazing food, loud noisy ambience, good place for youngsters to visit. Try to book before visiting to avoid disappointment because it's packed, and I mean it.
Literally one of the top place to go to for amazing, delicious, nice Korean food.
I go to Han Kang for one specific dish and that is their fried chicken. Probably be best Korean fried chicken I’ve had in London, always fresh and flavorful. Don’t forget to make a reservation, this place just has a few tables and is always busy. My friends and I made this mistake and almost went away crying, but the helpful staff ran after us and offered us a table that just opened up! Also, I recommend going in a group of three or four and sharing a few dishes.
Rarely does my dad enjoy eating out so much. We had some amazing chicken stew, with fried chicken, some pork belly wraps and some pajeon. Delicious spot!
Nice and delicious taste !😇 try the shared set menu.. 👍🏽 service was really nice since we didn’t have book reservation and still they glean the VIP potable in the back for us⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Food = 5/5. Taste very good and authentic. Big portion servings.
Service = 3/5
Cleanliness = 4/5
Vibes = 2/5. Very small place. Quite dark. K Pop music too loud.
Price = quite steep
I really enjoyed the food there. Theres a limited amount of veg/an options but the options they have are good and taste amazing too. It was busy the day we went and hadnt booked a table but managed to get one. Friend chicken, soondubu jiggae(soft tofu stew) and kimchijeon were delicious.
Went for dinner with Han Kang - was able to book table before visit and it can get busy during weekends hence recommend book before visit.
Food is overall good, some dishes are better than the others for example we found the Japchae is nicely done but the very basic korean dish - fried chicken is not so much (chicken is not very well marinated and inside was still slightly raw for larger pieces). Price wise okay not too expensive and server is good and fast.
overall: one of my go-to in london. they mastered balancing spiciness with other flavours, the correct spice should actually give you an addicting tingles or kicks. great place for groups as most dishes are sharing portion size.
tip ❗️: restaurant is separated into 2 parts: main dining & pocha upstairs. menu is slightly different (i think?), but the vibe upstairs is louder & for drinking (tho drinks prices are no jokes).
kimchi jeon 🥞: not the crispest i’ve had, but still a good crusty edge. but i love the unique spicy kick that comes after, which is normally lacking in other restaurants
sea snails noodles 🐚: noodles are very thin. noodle texture is quite soft, but the crunchy veggies & super chewy sea snails makes up for it. love combination of the spicy sour sauce with the sweet fresh pears.
yang-yeom chicken 🍗: just the correct balance of sweet & spicy. you know it’s perfectly deep-fried when the batter is still crunchy after being coated by a layer of sticky sauce.
