Truly great neighborhood pub with superb drinks, quality beer options (Landlord on cask!), and a classic food menu. Young folks working the bar, very friendly and engaging. An awesome spot to stop for a pint!

The pub was very busy as most pubs are on a Thursday evening nowadays! Considering how busy the pub was, wait times at the bar weren't too bad. Staff was friendly. Chips were good! Toilets (most important!!!) were clean!! We had a table at the back, were comfortable and had a great evening!

Had an awesome time at this pub. After a day of shopping it was nice to see a friendly face. Sai is a legend; delivering efficient and super friendly service. This pub is a beautiful venue to sit and take it all in. The food was delicious and the beer was cold what more can you ask for? Thank you for a great afternoon.

Love this pub, have been quite a few times on a Sunday and during the week. Staff are always lovely and accommodating. Food is always great have had lots of the starters on various occasions all really nice. Drink selection is great for both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Although one time I did ask for a coffee and they said there are many great coffee shops I should go there instead 😂 Passion fruit soda water is my new fave alcoholic drink

Been coming here over two decades. Internet reception esp at the back seems to be much better now 👍 massive improvement with accepting cash. Decided to drop by today for a steak and chips - their steak is generally good. The chef not being willing to swap chips for fries was a bit of a downer (note: thick chips standard, if you want thin fries you have to say) Staff here are always great, special mention for Sai today who made me feel welcome rather than awkward, and for putting things right. I'm sure I'll be back soon. 🙌 Also - recommend this venue during a heatwave. Their air con is fab 😎

Staffs are quite friendly and hospitable. They recommended a nice pint of beer that we wanted to have. And the scottish eggs, sausage plate, and chicken wings are good, but I think the other meat dishes could be better. (This is why I give 4 stars, not 5) The atmosphere was also good. [My visit : 07/Oct/2019]

Lovely little spot with the classic warm British pub ambience. Bar staff are a good bunch giving the place a good vibe, where the Guinness tastes good. Barman Alex poured us a proper pint of it if you know what the difference between a good one is. Food tastes great as well, gf was impressed.

Popped in for a beer and to read my book. Bartender was friendly, and on a Sunday evening there were plenty of seats to choose from. Very nice pub!

Fried Chicken and Fish&Chips were yummy. Wide range of options for classic British dishes. Sai knows to pour a perfect pint of Guinness. He served us well. My colleagues and I were happy with the time we spent

Okay there was a rail strike on and most pubs were quiet so getting a table was easy. The menu is fairly standard pub fair but served nice quick and hot, the fish and chips were excellent and the Chicken pie looked interesting as well. Whilst I only had soft drinks the bar seemed well stocked and service was brisk. Wendy, the manager, runs a good place and the staff, Kristi and Sai, were friendly and attentive enough to make sure all was well. I enjoyed my meal and would be happy to make the Crown and Sceptre a routine stop when visiting the Capital.

Sorry guys, but the team missed the mark with our outing. We booked in for roast at 4 PM and found there was no roast available. Also, most if the veg was quite dry (but the Leeks were quite good). The new guy at the bar was also having his instruction, and so things got a bit confused. I'm sure you have better days, but last Sunday was not one of them.

All of their sandwich options quite frankly slap. Don't like the use of breadboards to eat food off though (call me old fashioned!!! I enjoy a plate). It gets rather busy and make you stand very firmly out the front within their demise. This slightly displeases me but it's the world we live in eh! The government should relax the rules drinking on the street please. 9/10 will frequent again
