Went to the George pub Woodford with my best mate. It was a girls' night out without the kids. Had chips and bbq chicken, which was very tasty and filling. Also had a glass of lemonade and a rum and lemonade, which was refreshing. The staff were very friendly and easy to have a conversation with. D
Lovely evening - sat outside. Good range of drinks. Lots of space and air conditioned inside if it got too hot. Can't comment on later evening vibe on a Saturday as we left at 8. Wide age range
Really nice to see this pub surviving in difficult times. Lovely inside with original features. Loads of TVs for the sports, lovely terrace to enjoy the sunshine ♥️
Close to South Woodford Station and 3 bus routes, which enables you to have a drink and not to drive. Good menu. Tasty Belt loosening food portions. Good service & staff

The food here was ok, the pub had a good atmosphere.The TV screens were showing cricket. There was a private party in one side of the bar and the DJ was bloody awful, we stayed long enough to finish our food then headed to the cinema next door.
Love popping on my Friday afternoon off for couple of pints. Wonderful bar staff and very well kept beer, the menu also looks very appealing but I'm yet to try it. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
What a pub! The George is a wonderful ‘local’ pub with live sports, quiz nights, great food as well a great selection of beers and drinks. I always enjoy my time at the George. The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. If you’re in the area, a trip to the George is a must.
