After moving to Barnet for nearly 9 years, Chu Chin Chow has been the only restaurant I go if I want to have a Chinese meal as it is the best Chinese in Barnet area. The food is not greasy and not too salty (many Chinese restaurants make the food so salty that customers would order more drinks). The portion is generous and the ingredients are of good quality. It is a small family run restaurant and they also do delivery service. For this reason, Friday and Saturday can be quite busy and the waiting time could be a bit longer.

Service is friendly, and the lunch menu is excellent with lots of choices - my favourite is definitely their Singaporean Laksa which is yet to be beaten by any other place I've tried. Dinner menu is also perfect for those looking for genuinely authentic Chinese and Malaysian cuisine.

Great value. Went there on a recommendation and was not disappointed, I've done both weekend and weekday and food is freshly prepared and delicious at all times.
Great selection for an all you can eat style restaurant, dessert not being included at weekends isn't a big issue as the food is so good I've never had room for a dessert yet!
Service is better in the week but this is true at just about any restaurant.
Staff are accommodating and helpful.

Great little place. Probably nicer mon-thurs when it's less busy but even when it's busy you get delicious food and great service. The food is fresh and tasty. I love the deep fried squid with salt and chilli, it's delicious and not greasy like you might find in other Chinese restaurants. If you're around for lunch, they do a great set lunch menu: Starter + main for 6.50 and If you want dessert then £1 extra which lets be honest, for a hot meal isn't breaking the bank! Of course you can order from the normal a la carte menu, but to be honest, theres so mich choice on the set lunch menu for such good value, I wouldn't bother! Overall a great little gem in my opinion, they really do serve delicious food and offer great service!

Great. I felt I needed to leave a comment after reading the last review. I had heard such good things about this place that I just had to try it.

When I walked into the restaurant I was a little worried by the volume of people in there. Having said that I could not fault it.

The service was great and the food was fantastic. What good value for money, and well run.

The finest dish I have seen, the crackling crust of the crispy Tammy duck is an aromatic delicacy and when ordered together with a mouth-watering pot of tofu and fresh seafood it is the finest meal I have ever had the pleasure to have.

Very authentic Cantonese cuisine, all dishes taste very good especially the Cantonese pot dishes, the tofu , sweet and sour chicken… the fried rice are also good too. The boss and staff are friendly. The restaurant is not very big but seating is still comfortable. Suggest to book in advance. They also provide order pick up. Btw, they have a secret menu offering some special dishes not in their official menu. But need to book in advance.

The restaurant serves food that is very close to the authentic flavors of Hong Kong and truly captures the essence of traditional Cantonese cuisine. I ordered a variety of dishes, every dish was expertly prepared, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. . I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Hong Kong-style cuisine in the UK. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I will definitely be back for more in the future.

We came to try the lunch time special. The lunch time special is £10.50 and I think you get 2 courses and tea included in the price. On the menu they add an extra £1 i now realise that is for the blue starred items on the menu where you have prawns and more expensive ingredients. They also showed ice cream, at the bottom of the menu so not sure if that was included but we so full after the 2 course we didn't enquire about the ice cream. We ordered a soup and fried prawns to start. I was impressed with the prawns they were tasty and came with a sweet and sour sauce. The hot and sour soup was good and had prawns and chicken and quite a few ingredients in it. For mains we ordered a laksa and some mixed meat crispy noodle. I was impressed with the ingredients and the quality of the dish. The waitress was lovely and friendly. She gave gave us extra plates and bowls so we could share our mains. She also topped up the tea with hot water when we finished the first pot. We will definitely do the lunch time special again, the waitress said it's available on the Saturday too so will come back on the weekend I'm sure. There was also a free car park close by, which made it easy go get to the restaurant too.

Delicious food and great service at a reasonable price (£21.50 min of 2 persons) where you can order as much as you can eat from a huge range of dishes. Really worthwhile as far as Chinese restaurants go.

Went and the food was amazing very good food and cooked well. The food cooked in batter was lovely and not greasy like some restaurants I've been in. A little on the pricy side due to the price of the drinks but the buffet menu is reasonably priced.

Probably one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've been to in London, dishes always made fresh, love the selectio, especially the salted yolk fried wings, butter prawns and yam duck, make sure you preorder dishes on the secret menu.

Went to this Chinese restaurant for the first time and thought the service, food and ambience was excellent. They also do traditional chinese food like taro duck which is was quite surprising. We have frequented quite a few chinese restaurants around the area and this one by far will be a favourite. They offer a buffet menu which is cooked fresh and under £20 a person and a a la carte for some authentic chinese food. We did not take any photos apart from dessert ( brought back many fond memories!)
