Authentic french café serving good coffee and employing a better staff! Recalling my confabulation with the waitresses, I couldn't help but stop by for my regular coffee & croissant at Paul's.
When in London again, I can vouch for this cafe to be the first I visit.
Lovely service!

Love this little shop. Their hot chocolate is the best I've ever had, period. Eating the tomato and mozzarella sandwich became a ritual during the exam term at LSE. Oh and the macaroons!

The Chocolate Tart is definitely amongst the best till date

Definitely one of my favourite cafe/bakery shops in London. Love the design of the restaurant, the food and drinks. Love their big macaroons - so satisfying since small macaroons are never enough!

I absolutely love this place. Not because I love French food or even French baked goods but just because it is simple yet has great food that always tastes fresh. I love the very helpful staff that goes out of their way to even make custom sandwiches if you want to change a few certain things. I was craving a sandwich with ham and Boursin cheese and they made it for me.

I recommend the Quiche Lorraine and the Palmier to end your lunch. It is also, however, a very nice place to go for breakfast too. Keep in mind that it costs more, regardless of what you buy to eat in the restaurant as oppose to somewhere else. Pricing is a bit on the high end for a place that serves sandwiches and baked items.

Have a meal there and you just might get hooked.

Great place to stop off right before uni to get some healthy and delicious breakfast. Whether it is macaroons, coffee or its wide variety of sandwiches, Paul does not disappoint. When sitting in the restaurant, one gets a French feel, that resonates the vibes you get when in Paris.

The macaroons are definitely a must try!

Staff are warm and friendly.

However, could add more signature coffees to give a more authentic feel.

Whether it's for coffee or a baguette, I visit Paul quite often due to it's decent prices and location close to my university. Much better quality ingredients than most other cafes and everything is usually fresh.

This branch is quite small so seating can be an issue at peak hours (lunch time).

The chicken baguette in nice; I ask for it toasted. I really like the bread they use; seeded and crunchy.

Are you looking for a real hot chocolate or just the PERFECT mocha around Holborn? If yes, you should come to Paul. It is quite impressive that so many Londoners are always walking with a cup of coffee but most times the quality is not that good. At Paul you can get good quality coffee (the kind you can taste the beans quality) and a hot chocolate which is the Belgium type! Trust me: you wont regret! :)) On Kingsway it is the best mocha I have ever had! [Actually, it is the best mocha I have had in a restaurant chain in London]

Here you can get good sandwiches, quiches and French deserts. Best: sandwiches prepared with traditional French baguette (honestly, it is great) and very fresh salads used to prepare them! The Croque Monsieur is worth trying.

Too bad it is a tiny place to dine in! Also, if you know the region and places around, you can find cheaper chains to eat at or other cafes. Food quality here, however, is better than average chains in London.

I hope you like it! And don't forget to take the mocha! :)

The hot chocolate is wonderful! If you tipped your cup over it would probably take half an hour for the stuff to pour out! Thick and flavoursome. The pastries were as you’d expect from a French bakery, rich and sweet, but not sickly like many imitations end up being. Small but perfectly proportioned seating area with a number of two person settings inside and out. A worthwhile stop over alternatives on this commuter path.

The mixed red berry cake is to die for. Dark chocolate cake and hot chocolate also good.

There are a couple of tables available for you to sit down and chat. However, in the evening thye run out from a lot of food items in the menu - I expected to have hot chocolate and they didn't have it at all.

I was on my way to King's college and stopped here for food, internet and a meeting. The staff were very friendly and did not tut/ bother me whilst I occupied a table for so long. PS their hot chocolate is one of the best.

Tasty and tender food with nice coffee are charged with reasonable price. Had a go on the hot chocolate as many people recommend, but it tastes a little bit rich to me.

Really convenient for an LSE student to grab pastry and go. Macarons, croissants, pain du chocolat, cake... you name it. There are pretzels too. The hot chocolate is really thick, just the way I like it (and the way it is done in Italy). It is a lovely comfort spot for me whether I want to sit in or am in a hurry and need a takeaway. It is conveniently located next to a printers too so if waiting for your dissertation to be bound, why not right?
