I love this place but the last curry I got was far too mild. I think when they see a white girl they instantly decide to make it less spicy. I spent my summer in India - if I order a hot curry give it to me please!
Very nice restaurant for Indian buffet. Staff were very friendly and co-operative. It's pure vegetarian restaurant for food is awesome. Must try atleast once when anyone in London. Thanks Chutneys
OMG I not a vegitarian but the food here is (DELISH) and I woul defo go again. WHY-good value for money-friendly staff-huge tasty range of dishes to get your taste buds going.
It is an Indian vegetarian restaurant... There is a good range of street food starters on the menu including bhel puri, pani puri, samosas and dahi vada. For the drink selection, there are freshly squeezed juices, coconut water, lassis and hot drinks. The staff were attentive and polite but they seemed to hover around the tables. On a positive note, this meant that service was efficient and it was easy to ask for extra items and drinks.
Popped in here for a quick lunch half way through an all day seminar nearby. This was a fantastic move as I didn't want to spend too much, was pushed for time and didn't really fancy a factory line sandwich from a chain. Normally I avoid a buffet as I'm concerned how long it's really been sitting there. The constant flow of customers quickly allayed that concern. There's a lot to choose from and they don't skimp on flavour. Miso vegetarian.
Always fascinated about indian food , and craving for it when away . I landed on Drummond street , so called hub of Desi food for a decade long.
Quite street just about a nice walk from Euston and easily accessible by a number of buses .
Chutneys , popular for its vegetarian buffet , pretty much works up to its expectations, although variety could be dealt with a little more .
Nice warm indian food , must agree the food was excellent. The service was good too and for a mere 6.50 this deal is a steal . We had Gujarati, bengali and punjabi dishes for our buffet and were amazing .
The meetha was even better with rabdi , jamoon and phirni just completing the food saga .
Would give it another try but only on the day meat doesn't reach my salivatory gyrus :)
I have been eating at Chutneys since I was a student in the 1990s. Their fabulous vegetarian buffet is a class act. There's a huge selection of freshly made and original curries, sides and salads, plus copious fresh fruit for dessert. The options are subtly different every time and I absolutely love the place. It's incredible!
Super friendly and attentive staff and amazing food! All you can eat that is fresh and delicious- my favourite Indian!
Went for all you can eat on Friday night - had the absolute best selection of curries and salads. Food was incredible and service top tier! Thankyou especially to Saif :)
Always get great food at Chutney's.
Today was exceptional. I took advice from my attentive host Hoppy and had the kerela lamb, which was simply sublime.
I was even tempted by a home made galub jamun for sweet. The rice pudding surrounding it was so delicately flavoured.
Think I'll sleep well on the train home.
See you next time I'm near Euston!
Amazing place, Saive and Poppy are real stars.. very authentic Indian food in Drummond Street... extremely delicious Masala dossa and Ravva Masala dosa is a show stealer... Best quick Masala chai in any Indian restaurant in this street and the prices will blow your mind...
We are gonna make this place our regular adda now...😊
I have been eating at Chutneys for over 20 years now … more recently about once a fortnight when I can. The choice of salads to start & then veg curries is always great as are the pickles on the side. If you fancy something sweet they offer Indian rice pudding, fresh & tinned fruit & Indian sweets too. The staff are lovely & helpful. I just love this place!
I have been coming to Chutney’s since 1994 and it was a pleasure to come for a meal today with my son who is now grown up. Really friendly staff with lovely food, highly recommend!
Attentive lovely warm friendly staff. Has a really traditional family cooked vibe. You BYO alcohol & this makes the end bill really reasonable. I'd say £20 a head & for London that is incredible. A great experience all round . A shout out to Poppy who served us & gave us lots of options with a smile.
We have been going to Chutney's buffet restaurant as a family for decades, but today's meal was exceptional. For value, the desserts alone were worth the price. A friendly service left me with a smile.
We had dinner a couple of times for team get together. Delicious and authenticated food, lovely and caring staff. Highly recommended.
Update on 15 Aug 2023- Unfortunately, the owner has changed as well as the menu, quality, and price as well. It is not the same as before. It was a disappointment this time.
Had a great lunch. So much variety and the food is fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend. The service is fantastic and its excellent value for money. I will be going back. Sundays are the best. Go at 12 noon and sit having a relaxed lunch with family
We visited for the vegetarian/vegan lunch buffet to catch up with family from overseas and had a spectacular time! Food was absolutely gorgeous. The main reason we picked it was for the large selection of vegan food, which was superb! Great value for money and incredible staff that really topped off our experience, as they were so willing to accommodate. Will definitely revisit!
Excellent food, excellent service, lovely dinner time spent at Chutneys.
We went there with 20 kids/teens : they loved the taste (and so did the teachers !). I definitely would come back at that place on our next trip to London !
I was feeling a little peckish and I was also craving some Indian food, I remembered seeing this restaurant online as it also had good reviews. I decided to check it out with some friends. The food was amazing as was the service. Overall the food and the service were phenomenal. I would definitely revisit this restaurant again!
I think this is under new management.
Great curry. A step above your average high street curry house.
No beer on tap but you can bring your own.
Great service to boot.
I recommend the chicken and the lamb chop starters.
I’m summary; great curry house
Tried some new foods here before, including the dosa. Absolutely delicious! Genuinely just popped into a restaurant nearby with no real plan and glad I came across this gem. Would absolutely eat here again! Great vegan options too.
We had a most enjoyable buffet for dinner yesterday at Chutneys. The food was delicious - as a vegeatarian I was totally spoilt with the wide selection and variety of vegetable and salad dishes. Meat based dishes were also available though. Very friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
Brilliant experience on all fronts. A really varied menu of delicious food and friendly service. We particularly liked the Indian pancakes and the biryani, which came like a pie covered with a thin layer of pancake and emitted the most delicious aroma when opened. Very reasonably priced as well - this place has everything going for it.
